21 Breakthrough Quest (5)

With a Fenrir and two death knights on him, Lennon was definitely struggling a little bit. Fortunately, he was currently the luckiest man alive in Tisit. With the help of some luck every ten seconds, he was doing fine.

He was currently duel wielding, a greatsword in one hand with a book in another. The book was currently enlarged to three times its normal size and used as a shield. The <Elastic Claymore> was extremely effective, as it meant Lennon could go on both the offence and the defence at the same time. Using the greatsword's ability to curve around objects, he was currently steadily chipping away at the Fenrir.

Although it was a 3 v 1, the undead lacked teamwork. In Tisit, the undead weren't just puppets who are able to perfectly listen to orders and flawlessly execute them. Just like players or NPCs, they had to spend time training. The advantage they have is their endless stamina and ability to be summoned again, but necromancers have to train them so they actually do well in combat.

Of course, the lich's undead were all trained. But the lich had never summoned a fenrir and two death knights at once, not to train them at least. They lacked the ability to work together in order to defeat an enemy. The movements and strategies they exhibited were much more suited towards one on one combat.

Lennon had experience fighting against multiple enemies at once, he had done it multiple in fact. But even he would've been killed if not for how lucky he was.

<Untold Chronicles>

<A sudden stroke of luck has struck!>

The death knights suddenly became confused, both of their arms had just fallen off without warning. Before this, their armour had suddenly disappeared, and their sword suddenly cracked. Weird things also appeared to happen randomly to the giant wolf fighting alongside them, but they couldn't do anything about it.

A slight 'Whoosh' sound was made as the greatsword cut both of the death knights in half, scraping the bones of the Fenrir in the process. The Fenrir was frustratingly trying to destroy the book that was protecting the human, yet the book didn't seem to falter at all. In reality, the grimoire was quickly losing durability and Lennon needed to end this as fast as possible. The reason the grimoire was still intact was purely because of luck.

The next stroke of luck he would receive should be aimed at the Fenrir, so he decided to go on the offensive as soon as it happened.

<Untold Chronicles>

<A sudden stroke of luck has struck!>

Lennon stopped using the book as a shield and prepared to strike the Fenrir. But the Fenrir was no longer there. Both Lennon and the lich were confused, until the lich realised his MP was completely drained.

"Im-impossible"

Another whoosh and the skull of the greater lich was detached from its body.

<You have perfectly cleared the breakthrough quest>

<You have slain Larloch, One who raised a Legend>

<You have defeated a legend! You have received the title [Legendary]>

<Rewards are being calculated>

In truth, the greater lich, or Larloch's magic power was already close to running out before the stroke of luck descended. Even a lich, the peak of necromancers, only has a limited pool of magic power. Summoning a legendary undead cost a lot of magic power, and since Lennon drew the fight out, he had achieved a victory. Without his incredible luck though, he might've died from the first hit.

[<Tale of Legends> Lv 1]

- After activation, a loop of ancient runes will encircle and spin around both the caster and the target.

- If the caster recites the runes first, the target (s) will be unable to use skills for 5 minutes, and vice versa.

- This skill costs 500 MP to activate

<Cooldown time: 3 months>

[Clover of 4]

- Increases the stat 'Luck' by 10%

The rewards were worthy of the quest. Both the skill and the item he obtained seemed to be exclusively for the Storyteller class. The main thing he focused on was the skill, since the skill was quite overpowered. Being able to lock one's skills for 5 minutes was a guaranteed victory, since most monsters and players relied on skills to attack or defend. Deciphering the ancient runes wasn't a problem for Lennon, he had mastered all languages in Tisixa.

Of course, it didn't mean Lennon was invincible and could now go up against the most powerful monsters in the game. A high level monster still had its racial traits, such as a dragon having extremely tough scales and being able to breathe fire. Five minutes wouldn't be enough time if the stat difference between Lennon and the enemy was huge. Although the 3 month cooldown time is a huge drawback, it's reasonable for how strong the skill is.

The title [Clover of 4]was also good, it would increase Lennon's luck stat by 10%. Combined with the title [One seen by the World], his luck had a 35% increase. And the gold coins he received was just the icing on the cake, the quest wasn't easy after all, even for Lennon.

The title [Legendary] is given to any player who defeats a legend. It grants quite a lot of bonuses, especially the increased regeneration speeds.

However, the thing that interested him most was the fact that his 'Lore' stat had finally increased after so long. Though he still had no idea what it did.

His stats were looking pretty nice, it was on par with someone in the mid 180s. And since he had completed his breakthrough quest, he would be able to buy some new skills from the skill menu as well.
