1 Prologue:

August 1, 2019:

The first time we talked was at our high school prom. Ah, I still remember her smile." Said the old man in jeans and a sweatshirt. With a wrinkled smile stretched across his face like the Grand Canyon.

"What did she look like, grandpa?" the kid said curiously.

"Well, Johnny boy, It'd be better if I just showed you a picture book." The old man got up what sounded like firecrackers were the man's bones. "Here she is." the old man pointed at the photo of him, his high school crush.

"Whoa, she's pretty." Said the girl in a shirt that had "Nirvana" imprinted on it.

"That she is, Katie."

"So can you tell us the story of how you met grandma?" both said wide-eyed with curiosity.

[Doorbell rings]

"Hmm, I'll give you both an answer tomorrow. So get your stuff ready to go. I think your mom is here." the old man said, getting up and making his way to the door.

[ He opens the door]

"Hey, Jane," the old man said with a brilliant smile.

"Hey Alan, Where are the kids."

"They'll be down  in a sec; they're just getting their things from upstairs." Once he was done talking, he realized that she was wandering around him like a hawk flying around a lifeless carcass. Then he added, "What are you doing?"

"W-what do you mean what am I doing." She said with an uneasy voice as if he jeopardized her plan.

The man huffed with angry saying," let me guess; you need money."

Jane paused for a second, knowing that keeping up the act will only bury herself into deeper shit then later applied. " Yeah, Alan, I need money...." when she looked up at him, he didn't seem surprised. Silence crammed the room for 2 minutes until the kids came down with their stuff ready to go.

"So mom, how was work?" said Johnny queerly, smiling.

"Well, It was just another day." she said and quickly added, " How was my little man's day with his cool Grandpa, huh?"

"Fun as always," he said with a kind smile.

"Mom, guess what..."

"What!" she said urgently.

"Grandpa was telling us about Grandma and how they meet."

"Really?" she said, with a fake smile of surprise.

"Where's Katie?" Jane said with concern.

"John," said Alan "Wheres your sister."

"She's using the bathroom. "

Two minutes had passed when Katie had come down from the stairs. After that, they left, and Alan had gone straight to bed.
