48 An unexpected confession.

In balcony...

"What happened, Director?" Naina asked.

Shyam's gaze was dark. It was so dark one could not tell what he was feeling. His deep-set eyes seemed calm, but made one feel as if there was a burning fire behind the calmness.

"What's wrong?" Naina asked again in careful tone.

"Naina, What did I told you? I told you not to talk with anyone!" Shyam looked at her with his eyebrows scowling.

"Hardin is not anyone, he is my colleague" Naina straightly pointed out.

"Colleague or a man who you casually flirt!".

"Director!" Naina snapped. She paused for a while before she squeezed out the sentence, "I work in your company but that doesn't mean that you can insult me anytime".

"Insult...? What did you say?" Shyam asked controlling his temper.

"Why? Are you going to fire me now because I have spoken out of my place?" Naina asked derisively. She gave him a last look before she turned.

"Naina wait!"

Naina continued walking without slowing down her steps. When she reached the door knob, Shyam caught hold on her wrist making her turn back to him.

"Let go of me" She tried to break her hand free from his grip but her strength was no match for his.

Shyam didn't say a word but he just maintained a gloomy expression at her.

"Ryu Shyam, What do you want from me?" Her sharp gaze was like a hawk. "I understand now why you want to friend with me" Naina smirked.

"What did you know?" Shyam pressed.

"Well... A friend that you can spend a night with!" Naina said, narrowing her eyes in the process. She gathered her strength from and snatched her hand from Shyam's hold.

"No, you are wrong" Shyam said in threatening tone. "If I don't make a friend with you at least, I am anxious that you would steal away from me".

"What does it mean?" The crease on Naina's brow deepened.

"I am courting you right now". His voice was small and gentle. Shyam stared at her quietly for a while. After a minute or so, he finally broke the silence lingering in the balcony. "I like you".

"Huh?" Naina blinked her eyes over.

"Why are you so quiet? I told you the reason why I want to friend with you." Shyam said in a serious tone, when he noticed the disbeliving look on her face.

Shyam's words echoed in Naina's brain over and over like a song on repeat. Naina felt her heart was about to exploded, "But I don't like you" She replied unconsciously, her voice barely a whisper.

"I know you don't like me" Shyam sighed and looked away for a moment before looking back at her face.

"And I know that you are not believing me right now. But I am dead serious. I realised my feelings when I saw you with another guy near the Gipo Club. And today.... I can't control myself when you are with any guy...."

"Stop! Stop!" Naina couldn't believe what was going on right now. Her gaze was glued to his face, but her mind blank and void of any thoughts at the moment.

---------

Naina's heart was still beating hard as she sat beside Shyam in his car as they headed back.

Shyam stole a glance at her. He sighed in his head, feeling kind of messed up".

The car stayed silent during the whole way and no one had the intention to break it.

In short time they finally arrived their destination. The car slowly came to stop in front of Naina's apartment.

"Thank you, Assistant Conel" Naina bowed down and walked inside her apartment without looking at Shyam for a once.

Conel suddenly feeling a cold chill slowly engulfing him, he didn't need someone to tell him that his boss was staring at him and that was a silent order for him to scram!.

"Why did she thanked me out of nowhere?" Conel cried in his head.

The car was parked in front of the building for almost one hour. Conel looked towards the man sitting on the backseat with his hands clasped together and placed over his left knee.

"Director, Shall we go?" Conel asked.
