32 Second Round Begins Now!

After an hour, the waiting room was filled with at least twenty people who all passed the audition. Ting Mei scanned the room as she sips her drink: "Eva has an extremely high demand in her artist caliber, if this many passed, it would mean that I am against pretty talented people..."

For some reason, everyone around her didn't seem to want to approach her, as she was left alone in her seat while others around her would talk to other participants except her. She felt a bit uncomfortable, she wasn't a sociable person but she was still a little bit awkward. However, she spotted two other participants that were left alone in their spot without talking to anybody, making herself feel slightly better.

" They do look like they want to be alone..." reflected Ting Mei as she finishes her drink.

Spotting a girl walking towards her with a wicked smile, Ting Mei elegantly deposed her fancy cup on the golden colored table in front of her.

" Hello, my name is Hui Yin, you seem like a very interesting person and I really wanted to talk to you." the lady introduced herself as she stopped before Ting Mei.

Despite the nice smile on Hui Yin's face, Ting Mei already saw through her mask: this person wanted trouble.

"Nice to meet you," answered Ting Mei as she shook Hui Yin's hand.

" I heard about what Eva Snow said about you and I can't wait to see you act!" smiled nicely Hui Yin as she sat down next to Ting Mei.

" Nothing special but I'm happy you are looking forward to my acting and I hope to exceed your expectations." responded politely Ting Mei.

" Of course but I hope I didn't pressure you...and don't worry if you accidentally set the bar too low, I'll fix it for you" an evil smile appeared on Hui Yin's face as she spoke.

Ting Mei immediately understood her meaning: you only have connections, don't think you are great because you can act a bit and have connections, I'll crush you. It was loud and clear.

"People are getting worst and worst..." sigh Ting Mei inwardly.

" Thank you for your concern and I hope you'll be able to at least brush my bar." smiled sweetly Ting Mei as she got up to refill her cup, leaving Hui Yin in anger and shock.

" Shameless, shameless, so shameless! But as expected from a bed climber! Nobody messes with me, Hui Yin! You are just a lowly sl*t how dare you to talk to me like that? Just wait till we get to the second round, I'll crush you! " thought the angered Hui Yin inwardly as she also got up and left.

Not long after, a staff member entered the room and directed all the participants that were left to another room where seats were placed in five rows of six with a small judging panel in the front.

Judging from the arrangements, barely 30 people passed despite the initial large number of applicants. Seating in the judges' panel was Eva Snow, Da Gang, and three other strict looking staff.

After every applicant sat down, Eva lifted the microphone and briefly assigned directives: "Congratulations to all of you who have passed the first round. We will now begin the second round, for this round, I made sure there was an equal number of women and men. When I will be finished with instructions you will come forward to pick a number and pair up with the person who obtained the same number as you, the number will also determine your passing order. You will all be given five minutes to prepare the script together and we will shortly begin after. That is it, please step forward to take your number. I wish you the best of luck!"

As instructed, all participants stepped forward and took a number. Ting Mei opened her paper and to find a number eight scripted on it.

" You're with me," said a low voice behind Ting Mei's ear.

When she heard the sudden voice, Ting Mei naturally turned to the man standing behind her and showed a small smile: " It's my pleasure to work with you!"

" Second round begins now!" finished loudly Eva Snow.
