40 Phone Call

9 pm.

After leaving the restaurant alone, Ting Mei quickly went home and took a nice relaxing bath.

Dropping her tired body on the bed, Ting Mei sighed in exasperation, " Never thought I'll meet another shameless person today... Why are they all coming after me? "

Abruptly, her phone rang next to her ear. She looked at the screen and realized that it was an unknown number, " Who would call me this late?"

Despite the doubt, she picked up the call, " Hello."

Ting Mei was absolutely dumbfounded, the mighty Heng Empire's president would actually call her just to congratulate her? She had to admit that this situation wasn't an easy one to handle. This president was a huge trouble magnet and she had to run far away from it before she gets sucked into more trouble. She couldn't bear to offend him but she definitely didn't want to have any type of relationship with him.

Actually, after their third meeting near the bar, Ting Mei got a little curious about Heng Huan. During her fight, she clearly couldn't sense his presence, only after ending the fight and talking to Hao Mei did she realize that a person was there. However, that person wasn't Heng Huan but his assistant An Chung and only after seeing that An Chung was looking sideways, did she realize that he was with someone else. That person was Heng Huan.

She wouldn't dare to brag but going to military school, she was a top student and her skills weren't average either. She had to excel in her skills to get out of that place the fastest so her skills were completely monstrous and were not to be looked down upon. Yet, she couldn't detect Heng Huan at all, this wasn't normal. Even if he had normal basic self-defense skill, it wasn't normal for a president to have this much skills.

That night after coming home, she searched for information on him and everything seemed normal but when she was about to call it quit, she found a rare picture of him. The president hated picture and never liked to be taken in capture so having a photo of him was more than rare. As she looked at the picture, she could directly sense the hostility bone-chilling aura it projected in his eyes. This man was not to be messed with. She can already deduce that this man wasn't simple and getting involved with him will only bring her trouble.

Coming back to her senses, she indifferently answered: " Thank you, M. Heng, I see you have found my phone number in my file."

" Yes, I'm sorry if I have violated your privacy but this way the easiest way to reach you." replied smoothly Heng Huan.

" No problem, I was just a bit startled but it seems like congratulating me isn't the only reason why you had to call me now." continued casually Ting Mei.

Her tone itself wasn't defying but it revealed much more about her personality. She was a person on her guard with quick reasoning and she didn't like her privacy to be invaded.

Although it wasn't obvious, Heng Huan could clearly sense the hostility of the deeper meaning in her words, " This little devil seems more complex than I thought..."

" Miss Ting is indeed right, actually, Eva Snow requested to be your manager and I would like to ask your opinion about this subject," affirmed Heng Huan.

" No problem with me at all." simply responded Ting Mei.

" Then I will make the preparations for it immediately," said Heng Huan.

At first, Ting Mei didn't really want to ask but it has been bothering her for a long time and she just wanted to get it out: " May I ask why do you have so much confidence in me passing?"
