4 My Granddaughter's Future

Room 504.

Ting Mei is standing in front of her grandfather 's hospital room.

All these years, she has always been thankful to her grandfather, Ting Chen. She was always favored and loved dearly by him, but she never got the opportunity to spend time with him this past 4 years. Only sometimes, they would meet. When he had some free time, he would fly over to America for 1 or 2 days and spend some time with Ting Mei. Unfortunately, he was admitted to the hospital a year ago and both of them couldn't meet anymore.

Ting Mei was a bit nervous to meet Ting Chen in a hospital bed but she gathered her courage and pushed open the door.

Ting Chen, who was about to fall back asleep, turned his head to the opening door.

" Grandfather I am here to visit you!" said Ting Mei in a sweet voice while closing back the door behind her.

The old man's tired face suddenly lit up with a bright smile.

" You are finally back my precious granddaughter! Come, come, let grandpa see your beautiful face!" cried out Ting Chen.

Ting Mei quickly went to her grandpa and gave him a big hug. After a long minute of silence, she finally let's go to dry her tears.

" Don't cry! Today is a happy day, my granddaughter is finally back and she will conquer the world!" said Ting Chen in hurry after seeing her tears.

Ting Mei lets out a small laugh before replying back.

" Don't worry grandfather, I am going to make you proud but make sure you are healthy enough to see me do it. " said sweetly Ting Mei.

Ting Chen let out a short chuckle, " Of course, of course, I'll be with you till you become the queen of this country but what worries me more is what those rascals from the Fei family will do to you!"

" Don't worry grandpa, they can try and bully me all they want but I'm not letting them off either!" replied back Ting Mei.

Ting Chen sighed, he can't afford himself to let in her precious granddaughter in this cruel world. If only he could find her a good man to marry her so that she wouldn't have to suffer this much. However, knowing his granddaughter well, she'll never agree and would prefer to fight by herself.

Ting Mei noticed Ting Chen frowning and gets worried.

" Is something wrong? Tell me, I will do my best to make it happen!" said Ting Mei with a worried voice.

Ting Chen doesn't want to pressure her granddaughter but if he tells her then she might think about it.

" Sweetie..., actually, my biggest wish right now is for you to marry a great man that will take care of you even when I'm gone and to see you happy. I know you don't want to, nevertheless, I would still be very happy to see you with a great man, so would you think about it?" said Ting Chen with a grave voice.

" You want me to have a boyfriend?" asked Ting Mei in disbelief.

" Yes..., I know that I can't rush things like love, but I really wish to see you with a good man so he can take care of you when I won't be able to do it." replied back Ting Chen.

" Granddad! Don't say things like this! You are going to live till you are a hundred years old!" cried out Ting Mei in tears.

" Sweetie...You know that I would always stay with you if I could, but let's be realistic, I am not young anymore and I can't take care of you when I'm gone... and even if you want to rise up you will have to be supported. I don't want to pressure you but please think about it. Alright?" asked gently Ting Chen.

" I can't promise you anything but I'll be sure to think about it." replied back Ting Mei.
