However, there was already a basket of fruit on it so Ting Mei asked, " Did big brother bought you this basket of fruit? "

" Basket? What basket of fruit? ", Ting Chen also pondered as he looked over as well.

" You don't know either ? ", Ting Mei questioned as she took out the white card nestled in between the fruits.

As Ting Mei read the card, her face kept getting darker and darker as she frowned her eyebrows, " It's Fei Lan... "

" What?! " Ting Chen also frowned his brows, " That woman dares to pretend to care about me when she was the one who made me came here! That two-faced woman! Ting Mei throw it out! I really have to teach a lesson before they take things too far! "

" Grandpa, don't get mad, I already prepared something for her and her daughter. Don't worry and focus on getting better. I already asked the doctor and he said that if you keep receiving treatment, in another three months you should be able to get out of the hospital. So just trust me, ok? " Ting Mei gently soothed him.

" But..." Ting Chen wanted to refute: his beautiful granddaughter already suffered so much and he didn't want her to get hurt again because of those bastards from the Fei family.

Hearing his response, Ting Mei was finally satisfied and went away, taking with her the basket of fruit from Fei Lan.

After closing the door of Ting Chen's room, Ting Mei quickly walked into the director's office.

The secretary was on her lunch break so Ting Mei directly walked in the office.

The director was in the middle of working when the door of his office was slammed open, he immediately lifted his head and saw a beautiful lady elegantly walking towards him.

" Hum... May I help you in any way, Miss? ", he quickly went to salute Ting Mei.

At a moment like that, when a random person rushes in his office, he would get extremely mad but when he saw that the person was a very pretty lady exuding of elegance and only wearing famous designer clothes: he knew that he should be careful of how he acted.

" Yes, my grandpa is in room 504 and we have strictly forbidden the nurses to not let Fei Lan and Fei Ji enter the room including their gifts. So can I know why did this basket of fruit from them was in his room? " Ting Mei said as she threw the basket on the floor.

Ting Mei may seem like she was overacting for an unharmful basket of fruit but after what they did to her grandpa, she was completely wary of their food.

Fei Lan knew that grandpa really cared about Ting Mei and absolutely hated her daughter so she sent soup with slow-acting poison under the pretext that it was Ting Mei who asked her to do it.

Every day, the soup with a small dose of poison was sent to her grandpa and even if Ting Chen hated Fei Lan's guts, he really thought that Ting Mei asked her to do this for him so he reluctantly drank it.

After a while, he had a heart attack so he was sent to the hospital where he did a full body checkup and the doctors discovered a poison inside him: a target organ toxin. If they discovered it later, his organ would have started failing and his body would cease to function entirely: it was meant to kill him.

Hopefully, it wasn't too late but he still had to stay in the hospital for a long time to clear the toxin and because he was old, it took longer than it was supposed to be.

It was devastating news for Ting Mei when she discovered that her beloved grandfather was almost dead because of Fei Lan so she swore to herself that the pain that her grandfather suffered would be generously returned tenfold harder.
