31 As Expected From You

The earlier silent room was now filled with shocked whispered about Ting Mei's appearance with Fen Hua and now Eva Snow.

" Was she really a big actress?"

" Why did she came back now?"

" Why did she stopped for two years?"

" Why is she even auditioning if she is so big?"

Ting Mei's initial plan to stay low-key and to prove herself without using connections instantly flew away after hearing all those whispers.

" Mei please follow Da Gang to the next audition room, I still need to evaluate other rooms, I wish you the best of luck even though you don't need it!" chuckled Eva before asking the dumbfounded Da Gang to lead Ting Mei away.

" See you later," waved goodbye Ting Mei before following Da Gang.

She knew that if she stayed here any longer, she would cause more trouble to herself and to Eva: life was truly unfair. Honestly, she would have preferred not to meet Eva in this circumstance but what was done was done and at least she got to meet her again.

In the entertainment circle, connections could be an asset or a weakness depending on how you regard it. Having allies is a very strong point and you could never have enough allies but on the other hand, if people think you go around sleeping or that you can only make it because you have connections in the industry, then you are cooked. Not only will you get a lower prestige, but will also get treated more poorly if they think that your talent is nothing. On the other hand, it could also be an asset in terms of power and influence. Having a strong backing and allies get can yourself to a spot where nobody dares to offend you but if you are female, you are often accused as a person that sleeps around. Even though that trough the years, things have gone better for women, gossipers couldn't care less about the truth and will only come up with juicy rumors for others to read.

The only solution in mind for Ting Mei was to have zero connections and to never get in contact with others except for business meetings. Fen Hua was an exception because Fen Hua wouldn't let her fight alone and would only accept if she would let her have her back, not letting anybody bully her best friend. She had no choice but to accept but now that her relationship with Eva was revealed, things will get more complicated.

Ting Mei was directed to a fancy waiting room where they served tea and sweets.

" Miss Ting, feel free to eat anything you want as you wait for the second round." respectfully said Da Gang as he left Ting Mei alone in the fancy and empty room.

After he left, Ting Mei frustratedly grabbed a lollipop in the pink vase and chewed on it with exasperation: this is going to be a long day.

Sitting on his chair, Heng Huan couldn't help but wonder what was his sweet little devil doing in the audition. He had never met somebody that could mark him so much and made him think about so much. There wasn't a single minute when his mind didn't wander around her. Smiling inwardly, he looked through his window in contempt: " Why did you have to choose the scariest world ever? But wherever you want to go, I will go with you..."

Knock, knock, knock.

" Enter," replied Heng Huan as he sat back straight on his chair.

" President, Miss Ting just passed the first round," declared An Chung in a hesitating voice.

" I already knew this, I want to know what happened," replied sternly Heng Huan as he glared at An Chung in a cold manner.

" Yes, sorry, she immediately passed first round when Eva Snow saw her, Miss Ting was acquainted with her and Miss Eva immediately let her pass but all the staff agreed to the decision." answered weakly An Chung.

" This woman was truly fearful and incredible, everywhere we go, she will always find a way to surprise everyone." thought An Chung as he scanned his boss face to observe his reaction.

Heng Huan didn't say anything but hearing the answer, his eyes immediately softened: " As expected from you, little devil, you never ceased to surprise me."
