32 Chapter 31:

As soon as lunch rolled around, Momo decided to drag me to the cafeteria to eat today.

It didn't take much figuring out on my part to find out why she was dragging me to the cafeteria; Sato and the other boys had a boy's night and ended up eating pretty much everything.

Thankfully, it's the last day before the class gets their allowance for the next month, so we won't be going hungry despite their gluttonous night in.

I questioned inwardly about why the cafeteria is so full of hero course students,

'Can none of them cook? Or do they prefer Lunch Rush's food? Maybe it was fate for the class to witness the media morons barge in, despite the person initiating it being a villain who dusted the door? I guess I'll never know.'

I may have slipped away from Momo's vice grip on my arm for a quick second to zoom over to the journalists to see if any of them belonged to my parent's company. Three people were getting fired today.

I could have warned them, sure, but where's the fun in that? I now get to watch as their entire journalism career crumbles down around them and watch as they fall into despair because of their own choices.

What a wonderful spectacle it'll be~!

After returning to Momo's death grip, we soon ordered our desired dishes after an extensive queuing process. I had some grilled onigiri with spicy tuna as the filling, whereas Momo had many greasy foods like burgers and fries.

It's been over a decade, and I will never stop being amazed by how large a Yaoyorozu's appetite is.

Is there a separate dimension in her stomach where the excess food goes? How can she eat with perfect dining etiquette at such a quick pace? These questions have plagued my mind for years now, and I'm no closer to finding an answer.

Looking around our table, I noticed how nobody was bringing up Iida and Ingenium. I couldn't be any happier. I can still remember the lectures about his 'glorious' and 'valiant' brother ten years later.

Perhaps screwing Midoriya over was for the best. I can't feel the slightest bit guilty if his noble sacrifice made it so I can enjoy an Ingenium lecture-free life. Thank you for your noble sacrifice, broccoli boi.

As a certain Gandalf spin-off once said, It's all "For the greater good."

Feeling someone's stare on me, I snapped out of my trance and looked around. It was Shoto, staring at me dead in the eyes while he slurped on his soba. It was oddly menacing.

"Shoto, do you need something?" I asked.

*Slurp*

"..."

*Sluuurrrrp*

"..."

'Why is he still staring me in the eyes?!'

"Shoto, can you stop staring at me while you… slurp?"

*Sluuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrp*

"Shoto, if you don't stop staring at me in the eyes as you eat, I'm gonna shove those chopsticks up your nose and turn your brain into a pincushion."

He immediately averted his eyes upon receiving my threat.

'How did he slurp for that long? Is his soba composed of a singular long noodle that never ends?'

"Sakuya..."

"Yes, Shoto?"

"How far along are you in putting the court case together?"

"Are you sure you want to discuss it here?" I asked. We were in public, after all.

"Mhm." he nodded.

I could only let out a deep sigh in response as I tried to gather my thoughts. After a good minute or two of awkward silence and a curious-looking Momo staring deep into my soul, I finally answered,

"To be honest with you? The case is nearing completion with Nedzu helping me during his free time, but the problem is whether or not we can properly punish endeavor at the end of the day. There's also just a lot of loose ends to tie up before we present it. I doubt you want him to get off with a metaphorical slap on the wrist after all he did, do you?"

Upon seeing a shake of his head, I continued,

"The jury, even with the amazing amount of evidence we have, will still have some bias towards forgiving him due to his social status, so they will try and be as lenient as they can be even after we vet out the more avid supporters of your father.

I'm trying my best to have your mother discharged from the hospital, but I need Recovery Girl to come and do the psych evaluation on her before I can do so. This is gonna take at least a week because her entire schedule is full with appointments on top of her UA work. Her name on the report holds way more value on it than my own.

Rei taking the stands will help the case infinitely.

There is also the fact that your family wants the trial to be public to help sway public opinion on the case in your favor. The hero association won't like that and will butt in whenever possible to stop us from slandering their #2 hero with 'false accusations' and maybe even bribe some judges.

There is also the impending chaos as soon as the first hearing is over. The public's trust in heroes will dip significantly, and many others will be called into question. There might also be an influx of people in similar situations to yourself coming forward with their own evidence against their parents or heroes, which will only cause more chaos in turn.

In short, it's an entire fucking mess."

'There is also the point of the burnt staple fetishist named Dabi, aka Touya Todoroki, the presumed-dead son. We can't exactly push the case as long as that moron is off running around turning people to ash in alleyways. He'd probably torch the courthouse!'

I was now intentionally ignoring Momo's gaping mouth and piercing stare. My gaze was now firmly affixed to the white table in front of me.

"Oh… Thank you for doing this for me Sakuya, I didn't expect it to turn out to be such a big thing."

'Huh?! Who's doing it for you? I'm doing it solely for me so I can see the light in Endeavor's eyes burn out and have his smug smile wiped off of his face permanently. Hah~ will he cry when the trials are over? I can imagine it now, the bitter tears being evaporated by his flaming facial hair.'

"Yaoyorozu, what's happening to your wife?" Shoto asked, clearly noticing my distant look and blushing cheeks.

"I wish I knew, Todoroki-san. She should come down from this high soon, I hope." Momo replied.

I slapped my blushing cheeks to get myself out of the self-induced trance before finally replying.

"No problem, Shoto, anything for a friend," I said, trying my best to sound innocent and as well-meaning as possible.

The annoyingly loud level 3 intruder alarm started blaring. The older students shot up from their seats and informed the other students of the situation.

"It's the level 3 warning alarm. Someone has broken into UA!" one random nobody shouted.

As the student body was about to start stampeding their way to the exit, I froze them from the waist down.

"Babe, can you tell them that it's just the press?"

Momo made a megaphone and started speaking to the panicking students.

"Calm down, everyone, it's just the press! If you can all calmly make your way to the evacuation lines in an orderly manner when you can move once more, it would be greatly appreciated."

Releasing my hold on the student populace, they all reluctantly listened to Momo, and nobody got trampled. A successful event, in my humble opinion. Shoto, Momo, and I didn't bother moving and continued eating our respective meals.

A few minutes after we all finished our food, the bell rang once more, signaling the lunch period's end. Shoto third-wheeled as Momo and I held hands, strolling casually back to the classroom.

After being flooded with questions regarding where we were during the evacuation drills and bluntly answering them with "I was eating," Homeless-san began speaking as he took the stand.

"For today's training lesson, it's a class with three instructors, myself, Thirteen, and All Might will be present."

'All Might present at the USJ? What a joke! He's busy saving someone's cat in a tree over in Hokkaido. Oh well, as long as he accepts my blackma- convincing to take me on as the first ever intern that All Might accepts, I could care less if he actually does his job as a teacher.'

"Thirteen-sensei's going to teach me?!" Uraraka shouted.

"Sir! What training will we be doing that needs three teachers present?" Iida asked with a raised hand.

"Burning buildings, shipwrecks, floods, and everything else that a hero may face during a rescue operation. You will be doing rescue training today. It also needs three teachers present because of health and safety.

You can decide on whether or not you wish to wear your costumes this time, as some costumes may limit your abilities in certain scenarios.

The training center we are going to is off campus, so make sure to head to the parking lot when you've changed. That is all."

As he slinked away in his bag, everyone left to go get changed. I didn't bother altering time while changing. It just wasn't worth it anymore.

If Mineta peeks? Oh well, it will only serve to fast-track my initial plan to have him removed from the course so that the insomniac can move in, and we won't have an odd number of students.

Upon exiting the changing room, Momo and Melissa did a headcount to make sure we were all present before allowing us to board the bus. There were no lines, or whistles, or seating plans, much to Iida's dismay.

I took a window seat near the back of the bus because that's where all the cool kids sit, right? I would never know. Momo sat next to me, leaning on her. I closed my eyes and started to relax.

The USJ attack would be the most tedious battle I've had so far. Thankfully, I have more than enough handcuffs and assorted weaponry for the street thugs. Well, no handcuffs for mutation quirk users who may have an increased body size.

I have so many things stashed away in this outfit, thanks to Yui's help. All I needed to do is duplicate them and revert the new one to a point before it shrank. Duplication is really an unsung blessing of my quirk. I love it so much.

"I tend to say whatever's on my mind, so don't take it the wrong way, but, Melissa, isn't your quirk similar to All Might's?" Tsuyu asked the increasingly nervous wreck next to her.

"R-r-really? I-I guess I never thought about it like that, Tsuyu-"

"Call me Tsu." She interrupted.

"O-Oh, ok, Tsu."

"So? Is it true?" She pressed the matter once more.

"Now, now, Tsu. Of course, their quirks are similar. They are related, after all. David shield, Melissa's father, is All Might's cousin." I added, only to cause more chaos.

Melissa completely shut down. The others on the bus seeing this, assumed that it was confirmation and went completely wild.

"Sakuya, why are you lying to me?" The ever-diligent frog asked.

"Because I wanted to see the other's reaction," I shrugged, "Also, their quirks aren't that similar. Melissa has a far weaker strength level than All Might and has golden lightning arcing off of her. It is just a common stockpiling enhancer she inherited from her mother's side." I lied through my teeth, hoping Kermit wouldn't call me out on it.

"Hmmm, ok," she replied, seemingly accepting my reasoning.

I completely ignored the thankful look Melissa was sending my way in favor of looking outside the window. She can thank me by becoming the number 1 hero in the future, so I don't have to deal with the paparazzi that comes with the coveted position.

"But it's nice to have something like that with the cool lightning coming off of you. It looks really flashy and will help you get lots of attention in the future. Meanwhile, mine is just boring." Kirishima said.

"Shut up, Kiri! What did we say about this self-loathing stuff?" Mina asked.

"I wouldn't have put it so brazenly, but I agree with Mina's sentiment, Kirishima. You have a great quirk for being a hero. Everyone in our old school told you that too, myself included." Momo added.

"I guess. I wish it were more flashy, you know? Like yours, or Todoroki, or Sakuya's."

"You don't want my quirk Kirishima. It's so boring knowing what's going to happen and never having an actual challenging fight. I would probably have to fight God themselves to be challenged at this point." I replied.

"I guess when you put it like that it doesn't seem as appealing, but it's still super cool."

"Yeah, a super cool quirk that is mega hard to control. Saku-chan let me try it out once, and I managed to delete my sofa, and turn everyone in my house into toddlers, in the span of a few seconds." Toga huffed with adorably pouted cheeks.

"Alright you nuisances, we're here. Try not to bug Thirteen too much. I'm trying to file for a raise, and a good recommendation from the resident rescue specialist helps a lot." Aizawa called out.
