53 A Night Together

"Where do you plan to spend a night?" Luke asked Aisyl after ending the call and placed the phone back into the top of the drawer.

"I've asked Caitlyn about it and she gives me the green light to stay at the hospital." Aisyl blurted out without thinking. He then realizes what he just said and covered his mouth immediately as his head shook rapidly at Luke.

"Heh," Luke smirked before curving his eyes teasingly, "Caitlyn? I reckon she's a woman, right? Then, how come a man stayed together with a woman in LSA, unless..?" He dragged his words as his eyes scrutinizing Aisyl's body.

Aisyl instinctively covered his body under Luke's intense gaze, "Unless what?!"

"Unless you're a girl." Luke shrugged and continued his assumption, "I've been suspicious about ur gender this whole time. You need to work hard on ur disguise attempt, girl." Saying that Luke flicked Aisyl's forehead.

"Ouch." Rubbing her forehead, Aisyl glanced curiously at Luke, "Is my disguise really that bad?"

"Not entirely bad, since I am only able to confirm it today," Luke said as a matter-of-fact before resuming his explanation, "Well, that's why I'm shocked at first when you are stating yourself directly as a girl."

Pouting her lips, Aisyl said in displeasure, "So, if I didn't tease you back then, you wouldn't be able to reveal my gender?"

Shaking his head, Luke replied, "That's also not entirely true. Coupling with your feminine attitude and being moody sometimes. I'd had know about it later on even without your careless action."

Pointing at her nose, Aisyl spoke, "Thus, in the end, all of its comes to my fault?"

"Of course, you silly!" Luke laughed at her naive question before asking in wonder, "Why do you need to conceal yourself into a boy, anyway? You don't need to answer if it's privacy related." Luke quickly added as he didn't want to make Aisyl uncomfortable with his question.

Drawing a circle on Luke's blanket with her fingers, Aisyl pursed her lips and said, "It's not that serious. I just felt uncomfortable being constantly watched like some kind of animal in the zoo. Thus, I had to resort to using a wig whenever I want to go out."

"Yep, your looks supposedly would attract attention wherever you go. It's like the phrase 'Beauty that can topple kingdoms'." Luke joked

Looking at Luke who seems unbothered by the fact she's a girl, Aisyl raised her eyebrows, "You seem not that surprised about my gender."

"How should I react, then? I already waste my shock energy at your teasing before. And from it, I already convinced myself that I'd accept you as my friend, regardless of your gender." Luke smiled reassuringly.

"What a great friend you are." Aisyl shifted her head to the side to hide her blushing face before abruptly stood up and went to the bathroom while holding a small bag.

"Wha-?" Luke was speechless at her sudden action.

...

'Are women really had to take a long time inside a bathroom?' Luke thought to himself after seeing the door of the bathroom didn't budge the slightest even after 40 minutes flew by.

Just as he wanted to knock on the door to ensure Aisyl was fine, the door suddenly opened while from it emerged a tall figure with her violet hair flattered down. Her face was slightly watery and rosy as if after showering. Although she's currently wearing a boy uniform, those fabrics couldn't hide her exquisite features. Luke snapped out from his thought upon hearing a "Hmph" sound from Aisyl.

Laughing dryly and cursed himself for being a rude person, Luke coughed before asking, "Why are you suddenly turned into a woman here?"

Aisyl made her way to the couch and sat on it before answering, "Wearing wig is uncomfortable. And you've known my secret, so it's pointless for me to keep wearing it while I'm sleeping."

Luke was about to respond when he suddenly remembered something, "Wait! Aren't you the girl back then I saw?"

Aren't Aisyl look closely the same as the girl he once sighted when he came across LSA for the first time?

(I already changed the story where there's no more Lysia here.)

"When did you see me?" Aisyl asked with a curious tone.

"Around one month ago, if I'm not wrong."

"Hmm...I guess it happens when other students and I just arrive at LSA after sparring with Myre Academy. I had to use my real appearance there since it's a formal match between schools." Aisyl explained in which Luke nodded his head affirmatively.

Luke then asked another question that clouded over his mind ever since she appeared with her real body, "Another question, I understand you can change your face with makeup. But, some part of your body seems to grow up either. How did you do that?"

Aisyl initially was embarrassed at Luke's question, but when she glanced across Luke and saw his gaze contain only pure confusion. She let out a sigh before replying, "It was due to my ability, Starry Light."

Aisyl then proceeds to direct her palm over her body before a yellow star-light shrouded her body. Within a few moments, her body seemed to grow illusory, and some parts of her body returned like the usual Aisyl.

"I named this ability Starry Light due to the light it given. Isn't it exactly the same as the glow we saw on the star? This ability was originally served as a long-range type attack. Even so, this ability had many functions. One of them was to blind the target eyesight temporarily. It could also create a disordering effect, and by developing it, I managed to create an illusion where my body looks more like a boy when actually my body is already developed like other women." Aisyl clarifies and begins to retract her ability.

"So, it's like that." Luke nodded his head and about to catch more sleep when he paused at his action. Watching Aisyl that was in the middle of adjusting the pillow on the couch, Luke asked hesitantly, "You sure about sleeping on the sofa?"

The sofa could definitely fit two-person if they were in a sitting posture. But compared to Aisyl's height, the sofa looks small if she decides to sleep on it.

"Yeah, where do you think I should sleep instead of the sofa? Floor?" Aisyl chuckling mockingly at Luke's question.

"That's not what I mean." Luke slapped his own forehead before spoke, "The sofa is too tiny for you."

"Are you indirectly me saying that I'm fat?" Aisyl attention immediately turned to Luke and beamed him a smile-yet-not smile.

'Talking to a girl is surely troublesome.' Luke thought to himself before sighing, "That's wasn't I mean either. I mean, you'll get uncomfortable by sleeping on that tiny sofa. Why don't you sleep here?" Luke patted his own bed and felt something weird upon saying that.

When his eyes landed at Aisyl's red face, he stunned for a moment before realizing something, "I mean, you can sleep on the bed while I'll take the sofa."

"You should speak that from the first." Aisyl mumbled in a low voice before lifting her head and smiling gratefully, "If you say so, I'll accept your kindness wholeheartedly then."

Afterward, they exchanged positions as per their agreement. Switching off the lamps, the entire room immediately went dark. With only moonlight as the light source, the room becomes quiet with the only sounds came by from the breaths they were emitted.

"Have you sleep yet?" Luke hears Aisyl's whisper.

"Not yet, you?" Luke replied jokingly.

"Of course haven't, you idiot!" Aisyl chuckled a little.

"Say, did you have any ambition, Syl? With your talent, you'd certainly reached an apex existence like Alice Hall." Luke said as he imagined himself being a Transcender One with Time as the power. Wouldn't he become unstoppable?

"Currently I had no ambition yet. My only goal was to live in peace."

"Live in peace, huh?"

'I wonder when such a dream could be achieved? With Notorn Race eyeing us, it's certainly impossible for us to have a dream like that unless one of us defeated.'
