2 Good Morning

Last time it was a bunny. The poor thing had taken off and he caught it before she could catch him. He shook it like he would a stuffed toy, and boy did it squeak.

Even if it was a bunny, that's way better than a skunk or porcupine. If it was one of those she would clearly see it or smell it by now.

"C'mon boy" she said exhaustedly as she walked closer and grabbed his collar. It was a rock. A damn rock mixed in with a bunch of trash that may or may not have fallen from the sky. A thought crossed Tara's mind, "I wonder what you can sell a meteorite for?" A quick Google search gave her the answer. Three hundred to a thousand dollars per gram.

She picked up the amazingly expensive damn rock. It had to weigh more than a pound. She smiled, this fist sized rock could potentially pay off her farm. She temporarily forgot how irritated she was with Zeus for waking her up as she wandered back home still holding him by his collar. She may not have been mad, but she surely wasn't stupid enough to let go of him again.

She finally headed back to bed and set the meteorite on her nightstand. She was going to take a closer look at it in the morning, but for now, sleep.

"Buzz buzz" the alarm on her phone goes off at 5:30AM. She rolls over ready to go to work. She opens her eyes and notices Zeus's very apparent absence. She then looks up toward her nightstand and notices no rock.

"Crap" she jumps out of bed knowing he is probably chewing on it or something.

His thunderous paws were bouncing about in the living room, easily heard through the house.

"What do you think you're doing?" He had been jumping around the now broken meteorite on the floor. "Oh my God, how did you manage that?" She knew he could break things, but she had never seen him break a rock before.

There was a lizard on the floor near the rock. It was nearly the same light grey color as her carpet, so she hadn't noticed it right away, but Zeus sure had. It was about the size of a praying mantis, and it seemed to be bouncing around with Zeus.

"Zeus, leave him alone, he belongs outside," she said as she moved to grab him off the floor. The little guy bolted thought and seemed to be gone in an instant. Zeus initially bolted after him, only to come back confused.

"I'm sure he'll get out the same way he got in" she thought to herself, "I gotta go to work."

Thirty minutes later she was ready to leave. Putting Zeus in his crate, she leaves for work ready for anything her students could give her.
