THE PRESENT

The sky had turned pink as the petals from the cherry blossoms filled the sky, it was a beautiful sight that soon got destroyed, the sound of metal echoed in the atmosphere as the two swords collide.

-What's wrong? You look distracted. Said a young man with milky skin and black hair. Is it because of the mission that dad gave us?

-none of your business.

-Come on now, there is no reason for you to be so cold. So what bothers you?

-Better focus on the fight. The other man replied to him ignoring his opponent's question; and for a brief moment there was complete silence between them, the only sound was that of their swords as they kept swinging them and facing each other off.

The man with the milk skin swung his sword targeting his opponents' neck, but his blade was stopped; his opponent was able to stop his sword by catching it.

-Well can't be helped, we both know that you are better at sword fighting than I am.

-Then why didn't you use your spear?

-I thought I could give you this victory, after all this is just training. Aside that, are you ready? Tomorrow we will be leaving for the supernatural academy.

-Yeah, I know; I was at the meeting too, remember.

-It's weird

-What is?

-I expected you to be more anxious about it. You really changed, you became so cold. Why is that Jay? Is it because of dad? Well he was pretty angry with you. he really wanted those two girls to join us, I wonder why.

-Will you shut it Cameron? I'm tired of listening to you.

-Well, you're no fun.

-Sorry for not being entertaining enough. Seriously though, what is he thinking? Sending us off to the Supernatural academy it's pretty risky.

-I think, that he is tired of waiting.

-That plan of his; is reckless and stupid. <The only good think about this whole thing is that I'll be able to see her again> as he thought of her; he couldn't help it but to smile a little.

-Why are you smiling? Perhaps you're looking forward to it after all. Is there a specific reason for it?

-It's odd; even though I am the one with the ability to control people's minds, you are trying to do the very same thing right now.

-You didn't answer to my question.

-Because there is no need to… anyway I'll get going, see ya later Cameron. <that guy is as irritating as ever, though I have to admit if I were to engage him at my current strength I would probably lose. I mean the power which he possesses is one of the strongest. Apart from his teleportation; he also possesses the power to open another dimension, which he calls it the dark dimension. Now that's a place that I never want to go back again. if he founds out about Emerald, he will sent her there, I have to keep her safe no matter what, cause If I don't; she will break like I almost did>

The room was filled with noise as the alarm went off; until a powerful wave of wind destroyed the alarm, and a girl with long crimson hair rise from her bed, her eyes still shut and she had drool on her face.

-Cassandra, are you awake? She asked while keeping her eyes closed.

-Nope. The other girl replied.

-What time is it?

-Must be around eight o'clock. After those words, both of the girls realized that they were late. They jumped out of their beds and run towards the bathroom.

The girl with crimson hair used wind in order to boost herself, but a branch wrapped her ankle and throw her back to her bed.

-Sorry Emerald, but you take to long to get ready. Cassandra told her as she closed the door of the bathroom.

-You play dirty Cassandra.

-Look who's talking, the definition of playing dirty.

-That's mean.

-It's not mean when it's the truth. As she opened her mouth to reply her phone vibrated, making her swallow her words.

<Good morning princess>

<good morning to you too captain> she replied immediately while trying to hide her smile.

<How have you been?>

<Good though I'm having some difficulty with my project>

<well, we will see each other soon, so I might be able to help you>

<wait what? we will?>

<sorry I have to go, talk to you later>

<Jay wait up, what did you mean by that?>

-And he left… she said out loud without realizing it.

-Who left? Her roommate asked her.

-Aah… no one, anyway I'm going to the bathroom.

-Did something good happen?

-If anything, good had happened you and London would be the first to know.

-Not true… You never talk about your secret messenger. Even before those words reached Emerald, her face had already turned red from the embarrassment.

-What are you talking about? She said trying to hide the truth.

-Don't hide it, we know that you talk with a boy, we actually have known that for quite a while now.

-How long? She asked embarrassed

-About one and a half year. Have you met in person? How long have you known each other?

-Well… she said hoping to find an excuse, but her friend's deep blue eyes were stuck on her, and her expression was filled with excitement. She couldn't keep things secret any longer, she just had to share her happiness with her friends. Yes we have met in person, we met two years ago, I just wish I could see him again.

-Why can't you? and how did you two met?

-It's complicated… how we met? Well that's a long story, to make it shorter he saved my life by kidnaping me.

-Huh?

-Come on; put your shoes on or else we are going to be late. By the way how are things with Melany? She asked her as she opened the door of their room.

-I wouldn't say bad but it's not good either. We talk but we are on a break.

-You should talk to her and short things out.

-I've been trying but she is avoiding me ever since the school festival.

-I see… she is still confused.

-Yeah, I know… anyway we better focus on Mr. Stone's class or else we will be yelled again.

She was sitting at her desk and watching her professor's lips moving but she couldn't hear anything. She took a glance into the clock that was above the board, it had been 10 minutes since class started but it felt for her like it had been hours. She looked her professor again, he was writing in the board, step 1: research, step 2: source… her mind traveled back to what Jay told her or messaged her, but still what could he mean by that? She opened her phone and wrote <what did you mean earlier?> she wrote those words and she was about to send the message, but instead she decided to delete the message and therefore she never learned what she wanted to. You can call it cowardness since it was fear and anxiety that stopped her from pressing send.

-Emerald, are you okay? Cassandra asked her.

-Yeah, I was just thinking, why?

-Cause, I've been talking to you about five minutes and you didn't hear a word.

-Yeah, I guess you can say that I spaced out. Sorry.

-Excuse me, am I interrupting the two of you? if so I'm sorry, but let me remind you this is a class and not a cafeteria.

-Sorry Mr. Stone. The girls said with one voice.

-Good now let's continue our class. He said that and he went back to the board to write, Emerald looked the clock again she sighed at the fact that the next break was at 20 minutes, which they felt like centuries, like the flow of time had stopped and that pissed her of.

The bell rang and London put her notebooks and her books in her backpack and hurriedly she went to her locker and put them inside then she took some other books she had there, one of them was anatomy and the other one was genetics. She was in her second year of medicine while Emerald was studying on becoming a reporter.

-Hey London. She heard Emerald calling her, she turned around and saw her running towards her followed by Cassandra.

-Hey, lets go and buy some breakfast I'm starving. She told them without giving them a chance to say anything.

-Right in the subject as always… Emerald teased her. Anyway, let's go.

They walked to the cafeteria and as they did, they past right beside a boy with milky skin and black hair. As he passed by them London had that feeling again the feeling she had when she first saw him, two years ago in her old school. But she wasn't the only one to notice, Emerald turned all her attention to him and immediately she realized who he was, when he tuned in the hallway, she run to the same direction he did and then she saw him standing there, she saw Jay for the first time in two years.
