1 Chapter 1: The Last Human

Jack was alone. The last human left on Earth, he roamed the deserted streets of what was once a bustling city. The once-vibrant skyscrapers now stood as hauntingly empty monuments to a civilization that was no more. The only sounds were the howling winds and the distant hum of machines that had long since gone rogue.

Jack knew that he was the last survivor of a catastrophic event that had wiped out all other life on the planet. He had no idea what had caused the apocalypse, but he knew that he had to find a way to survive. He scavenged for food and supplies, but the pickings were slim. He knew that he would have to leave the planet if he wanted to live.

That's when he remembered the time machine. It had been a secret government project, one that had never been tested. Jack had been a part of the team that had developed it, but he had never imagined that he would need to use it to save himself. He knew that it was risky, but he had no other choice.

Jack set out on foot towards the government facility where the time machine was kept. It was a long and dangerous journey, but he was determined to make it. As he walked, he thought about the life he had lost and the possibilities of the life he could gain if he could travel back in time.

Finally, after days of walking, he reached the facility. It was deserted, like everything else on the planet. But the time machine was still there, and Jack knew what he had to do. He climbed into the machine, set the coordinates for the past, and pushed the button.

The machine hummed to life, and Jack felt a rush of excitement. He was going back in time, and he could change everything. He closed his eyes and waited for the machine to take him away.

When he opened his eyes again, he was standing on a desolate planet with a habitable atmosphere and no signs of life. He realized too late that his actions had caused the extinction of all life on this planet. As he activated the time machine for one last jump, he wondered if he could fix it all.
