My High School Life

Prologue

After knowing each other's names, Kazuya was gone to the riverside to talk to his friend, Hideko, and Kazuya forgot the Soul Seal because of the happiness he found founding a friend.

Chapter 2

Another day of being at the riverside has passed once again. Kazuya was gone everyday to the riverside to talk to Hideko. After he got home, his Master asked him:

"You seem to be away from my home a lot, what's the matter?"

"Master, You see, I found a friend!"

The two talked about what happened so far. Master was happy his disciple found a friend.

"Then, your friend has a Soul Seal, right?"

Kazuya was confused by what his Master had said. He totally forgotten the Soul Seal.

"If she has a Soul Seal, it means she was depressed, you need to put her out her misery."

Kazuya was thinking for a while.

"Master, what would happen to her, if I extract the Soul Seal."

Silence enveloped the whole room. Both are thinking the results, but came to a conclusion that:

"I dunno! I just know that... if you extract the Soul Seal, they will be more brighter than before."

"More brighter than before, huh? That's the only answer I need!"

Kazuya was fueled with determination to move! Tomorrow morning, he will make his move! He wants to see his friend more brighter and wants her to put a real smile.

And so on, tomorrow has came. Kazuya immediately took a bath, had a breakfast and gone out to the riverside. He rushed in to the riverside, without any care in the world. He just ran and ran, as fast as he could.

Until he got to the riverside, and saw that silky black hair. He slowly walked to that location and tapped her shoulder. But he got the wrong person. That girl has grey eyes, and white skin, she's different from Hideko.

"Good morning, I was waiting for you. Kazuya Satoru, I am Hideko Shiori's older sister, Himeko Shiori."

Kazuya just sit beside the older sister. She's not even staring at a painting. Kazuya was feeling awkward, he can't engage into a conversation. But still tried to talk:

"Umm, what would a big sister need from me?"

"I will get to the point.Thank you for being friends with my sister, I sincerely thank you. Please stay as her friend!"

The sister, Himeko, suddenly bowed to Kazuya and crying. Kazuya thought that bowing was used only in powerful men so he immediately made her stop.

"Mr. Kazuya, Hideko has a talent. She could change the world of painting. She made her painting her life. She gave her all to painting. She sacrificed friends, school and even being a kid, and just painted. But... she was involved in a car accident at her 3rd year of middle school. Since then, her index finger and middle finger got severely damaged and can't be healed anymore. She can't use it to write nor paint, but she can still eat."

Kazuya can't believe that Hideko has a really deep story. That's why she is just staring at her painting, because she can't paint anymore. Kazuya was just clenching his fist, because of the frustration and unable to sense the depression his friend had.

"At the least, I'm glad that my sister was able to make friends. I think it's time to give up painting and live his life as a normal girl."

"Miss Himeko, does your sister like painting?"

Kazuya asked a straightforward question. You can see in Kazuya's eyes are determination, determination to make his friend happy. He will not let his first friend to be sad!

"I think... she likes- I mean, she loves painting!"

"That's all I need! Please let me speak to Hideko! I need to tell something to her!"

Kazuya shouted without any care if it's still morning or the neighbor's are still sleeping.

"I understand, I will take you to our house."

After some walking, Kazuya and Himeko reached her house. It was just a few steps away from the riverside.

"This is Hideko's room, and this is the key."

"I see, thank you!"

"No, I should be thanking you."

With that, Himeko was gone to the living room. While Kazuya was staring at the door of Hideko's room.

"Okay! Here I go!"

The moment he entered the key, it gave a click sound that indicates, it was a locked, and he entered the room. He opened the door, and what his eyes saw was Hideko in her underwear and was about to wear clothes. The two was too shocked to move, but Kazuya was the first to move. He immediately closed the door and mumbled:

"I should have knocked after all."

After a few minutes, Hideko said that he can come in. At first, the two became awkward at each other but after a while they engaged into a conversation. Kazuya also explained why he have the key.

"So, Kazuya, why are you here?"

"Hideko, you love painting, right?"

Hideko was shocked at Kazuya's question but she still answered honestly.

"Yeah, I love painting."

"Then, why give up on it?"

"That's because... I was injured."

Kazuya just looked at Hideko's eyes straight and gave his reply.

"No, your just giving it as an excuse. In reality, your trying to choose between normal lifestyle, having friends, having fun and more, and painting. If you paint, you will have to give up on it, you have to give it your all, if you choose a fun lifestyle you can't focus on painting."

Kazuya said it blatantly and direct. Hideko was shocked by what Kazuya just said.

"Hideko, in truth, I was the same. I have to choose between swordfighting or having a normal lifestyle, I chose swordfighting and since then, my life never became normal, but for you,... you can still do it! Have a normal lifestyle and at the same time focus on painting! You can do it! If your having a hard time on your right hand, use your your left!"

Kazuya looked at Hideko with eyes full of seriousness.

"Kazuya, can I really do it? Can I really have a normal lifestyle and focus at painting?"

"Yeah, you can. If your on the verge of giving up, I will be here to give you a helping hand, that's what friends for, right?"

Kazuya touched Hideko's hand and stared at her. Hideko was crying but they're not tears of sadness, but tears of joy. After a while, something came back from Kazuya, his Soul Seal came back to the sword. It means that... his mission is now over.

A month has passed since then, and Hideko was steadily getting used using her left hand on everything she does. After that, she became left-handed and was able to paint normally. Kazuya and Hideko are still talking to the riverside like always.

"With that, you have one Soul Seal! Congratulations, My Disciple!"

Kazuya and his Master are celebrating the retrieval of the First Soul Seal.

"So, My Disciple, what happened to Miss Hideko?"

"She seems much happier since then, and we are still talking in the riverside, like always."

Kazuya and his Master are just drinking juice and eating junk food.

"Master, I have made my decision."

"What is it?"

Kazuya suddenly turned the conversation into an unexpected one.

"I want to help people like Hideko who are in the verge of breaking down! Maybe this is just my way of compensating for all the people I've killed, but still... I want to help them! That's why... I'm going to high school!"

Master just smirked a little and said:

"Then, Get ready! Today is April 4, tomorrow is the first day of school! I will ready all of your things!"

With that, tomorrow has came:

"What's with this clothes? It's smooth and silky, thick too, to be precise."

"That is called a school uniform, My Disciple. That's a specific clothes, you need to wear if your going to school. Because there's so many high school there! It's a way to identify what high school you came from!"

"I see."

Kazuya's uniform is a gray tuxedo with white frills in the sleeves, collar and in the necktie. It was the uniform of Edogawa High School, an ordinary high school, just a few steps from the riverside.

"My Disciple, today is your first day! You know what to do, right?"

"Yeah, go to school, find my class, and sit like a normal student!"

"You got it, right! Then, go on!"

Kazuya have gone outside, while his line of thinking was:

"This bag is incredible after all! It can fit so many things! Yet, your just going to wear it in a shoulder! Amazing! I bet that it's sturdy too!"

Yes, he was talking about the shoulder bag.

Kazuya walked to his school until he reached the riverside. He have so many memories of it, so he stared it for a while. After a while, he saw Hideko, wearing the same uniform and was about to go out in the riverside. Until the met each other.

"Hey, Hideko, looks like we have the same school."

"Yeah, nice having you. I'm shocked too, that were actually schoolmates."

The two walked together to school, and along the way, they're chatting about what happened so far.

"Hideko, if your good at painting, aren't you supposed to get a master or something."

"Master?"

Kazuya was slipped in that word. He don't know what to say though.

"If your saying an Art School, I decided to come in the Edogawa High School because I like a normal lifestyle. And there's an Art Club in there too, right?"

Kazuya let out a sense of relief and just sigh. Kazuya must be careful on his words or the same thing might happen again.

After some walking, they finally reached their destination, Edogawa High School. The two lined up for the opening ceremony. In first, Kazuya still have patience and listening patiently to what the principal was saying, but after a while his patience and was about to rampage, but before he does that the principal stopped talking.

With that, Kazuya tried to find his class, It was Class 1-B. After some searching, he found it. He took a seat near the window and stared at it.

"It seems that Hideko was in Class 1-A, so there's no one I know in this mysterious room. But there's so many people in my age here, huh?"

He mumble on and on, about a mysterious room, et cetera. But something unexpected happened, someone talked to him.

"Hey, I was in the seat beside you. My name is Yuu Ichirou, I hope we could be friends."

A boy talked to him suddenly that Kazuya couldn't react quickly. He has a brown hair with a really normal face and average bodybuild.

"The pleasure is mine, My name is Kazuya Satoru."

"The pleasure is mine?"

Kazuya did it again, his old-fashioned japanese accent and talking.

"Your one funny guy, huh? Then, Satoru, Please take care of me!"

After that, the teacher arrived and the whole class suddenly became silent.

"Hello class, I am your homeroom teacher starting today. I am Tokisaki Ume"

She wrote her name on the blackboard like a normal typical teacher. The teacher has pink hair, with braids on the sides, A really beautiful face and pinkish eyes. Her curves was really an hourglass shaped, and it's rare nowadays.

"Then, as I point you out, introduce yourself and say your middle school! Okay, first you!

Kazuya was smiling confidently as if he figured it was going to happen right from the start.

"No problem, I was prepared! I cut my hair, cut my nails amd washed myself properly. My Master prepared the necessary papers so I can enter this High School, if someone asked what middle school I came from, I'm just going to say... Ahogane Middle School!"

After 14 students was called, it's now Kazuya's turn to introduce himself.

"My name is Kazuya Satoru, I'm from Ahogane Middle School."

"Next!"

Kazuya pulled it off, and his sense of success are overlapping, to him at least. After the introduction of students, all of the teachers introduced themselves too. There's no lessons on the first day of school, and so, Break has came.

"Hey, do you want to eat in the canteen? Satoru"

"Canteen?"

It was Yuu Ichirou, the one talked to Kazuya this morning. Kazuya does not know what canteen is. So he's searching his brain for possible answers, and came into a conclusion.

"Hah, sorry but I'm not eating canned teenagers, I'm not a cannibal."

"Huh? Canned Teenagers, Cannibal."

Kazuya thought that Canteen was the abbreviation for Canned Teenagers. But he is wrong, so he just put on a stiff smile while sweats are still dripping on his face.

"Jeez, your jokes are not funny, you should work it up. Should we go to the canteen? or should we eat here?"

"I guess we should eat here."

Kazuya escaped the crisis, he doesn't even know what a canteen is, so avoiding it for now is the best decision!

"So, do you have packed lunch?"

"Packed lunch? Sorry but I don't have one."

"Then, we should go to the canteen after all, buy a lunch then eat it here."

The conversation about the canteen came back again! This time, Kazuya does not have any counterattack to this one, so he just said:

"Then, I don't know where is this canteen, could you please guide me?"

"Of course!"

Kazuya was new in this school, so it wouldn't be strange if he want a guide to the canteen

The moment they exit at the door, Hideko was waiting for them.

"Umm, Kazuya, can I eat with you?"

"Of course!"

And the three walked together to canteen, but along the way, Yuu whispered something to Kazuya.

"Satoru, how the heck did you knew a beauty like that?! I bet that she's your girlfriend, right?"

Kazuya didn't answered for a second because he's thinking what girlfriend means. He comes to a conclusion that girlfriend means a friend that a gender was a girl, so...

"Of course, she's my girlfriend!"

"Hah!"

Yuu was in the verge of collapsing, he might be thinking lines like "your one lucky guy or you'll just break up sooner or later or just because your a little handsome."

After that, they reached the canteen. Picked some kind of sandwich and gone back to the classroom. Kazuya was having a hard time picking a sandwich so his two friends help him a bit.

They came back to the classroom and chatted in the classroom.

"Then, Miss Hideko, your an artist?"

"Yeah, so I was planning to join the Arts Club."

"Amazing!"

The three chatted until breaktime was over and Hideko came back to his class. The two men came back to their seats, and chatted again until the next teacher arrives.

"Good Morning! I am your Physical Education Teacher! Hideyori Tsubasa!"

A man with a psyche and wearing buzz cut entered the room, and it seems he was their P.E teacher.

"Today, were having Physical Ability Test, so go out on the field now!"

Kazuya was wondering why all of the students suddenly stood up and gone. Kazuya just gone along with the flow but doesn't even know what's happening.

The boys have gone to the locker room to change into their P.E Uniforms. Kazuya like earlier, just go along with the flow and changed to a P.E Uniform but he does not know the purpose of it.

The class was finished changing and have gone to the field for the first test, It was Ball-Throw.

From what Kazuya observed so far, from his previous classmates, it seems that Ball-Throw is throwing the ball as far as you can. So... Kazuya was ready for the Ball Throw!

"Kazuya Satoru! It's your turn now!"

"Yes!"

He entered the circle, and twisting his shoulder to get ready for his throw, the moment he held the ball, he immediately formed a stance for a throw, then threw the ball with all his strength!

Everybody was shocked by ball flying so far away. Kazuya has an incredible shoulder strength for wielding a heavy katana ever since he was still a child.

"29.5 Meters! Kazuya Satoru beat the average score!"

The whole class was on uproar on what's happening right now, but Kazuya was glad he pulled it off somehow. All of Kazuya's physical tests was higher than average, that's why after the test, he was given the title "The Athlete."

After the P.E Test there's nothing worth mentioning, that's why time became fast and the first day of school is now over. Yuu asked Kazuya to go home together, with Hideko of course. The three was chatting on their way to their own home.

Yuu's home was the closest out of the three, so he was first to be gone, and so, the two became alone. They chatted again after that until Hideko reached the riverside, with that they said their goodbye's to each other.

"Ah, Hideko, your home already?"

"Yeah, big sister, I'm home. What's for dinner?"

"It's curry."

Hideko changed her clothes, from her school uniform to her casual clothes, and took a sit on their dining table. While her sister was cooking, Hideko asked something:

"Umm, Big Sister, If I was alone with Kazuya, my heart is pounding like crazy and I can't stop it. If possible, I want to be with him, all the time. I'm really not sure about this feeling, this is the first time I felt like this."

"Then, aren't you just in love?"

"Love?"

Hideko's face became red and slammed the table, she shouted:

"There's no way it's that! Kazuya is my first friend!"

""What's wrong with having a crush on your friend? Your actually lucky, many people can't be friends with their crush."

"But... but... but..."

While her face is still red, Hideko is fidgeting all over.

"My little sister, Himeko, Kazuya is a nice guy, he's attractive too, so what's wrong with him?"

"It's not like there's something wrong with him, it's just..."

Hideko was trying her best to answer that question, but for some reason, that even I don't know, she can't.

"Forget it, Hideko, you can just continue what your doing until now, then confirm it for yourself. Am I in love or not?"

"I see, that's good. I will do what you just said."

With that, the conversation ended and the two ate dinner together.

"Achoo!"

"My Disciple, do you have a cold?"

"No, it's nothing."

While Kazuya is reading some book to learn some more things, he suddenly sneezed and he doesn't even know why. He is reading books, to understand the modern world more, and to avoid messing up like the last time.

"Then, My Disciple, have you made any friends except Hideko?"

"Ah, there's some guy who approached me and his name is Yuu Ichirou, and since we ate lunch together, I think were friends now."

"I see, I see, good for you."

Kazuya returned from reading his book and his Master didn't talk for a while. Then, after 8 minutes, the Master asked again:

"Then, have you found a girlfriend? Your a natural playboy, if you found one in the first day of school!"

"I have one."

"Come again."

"I said I have a girlfriend."

The Master was devastated on Kazuya's reply, and mumbling stuff like "I'm still single, Damn, just because he's a little handsome!"

After a few seconds, the Master regained his composure and asked Kazuya again:

"Then, who is your girlfriend?"

"It's Hideko."

Master stared Kazuya for a while, he has the eyes of suspicion on him, then asked again:

"Are you really sure, you know the meaning of girlfriend?"

"Yeah, it's a friend that the gender is a girl, right?"

The Master slapped his face, then slowly detached them downwards.

"My Disciple, a girlfriend means like-"

The Master whispered Kazuya the continuation of the sentence, but Kazuya was shouting all over everytime his Master was explaining. At the end, Kazuya felt the urge to apologize tomorrow. And Kazuya's first day has come to an end.

Kazuya have gone to school with Hideko and was about to change their shoes, from an outside one to an indoor one, when:

"Why is my locker full of letters?"

In the end, Kazuya brought all of it in his bag and gone to class with it in tow. For some reason, Hideko was having a smile but it seems fake, she seems angry inside.

Kazuya read the letters one by one, while his friend, Yuu, is tagging with him.

"I love you! Please go out with me!"

"All of the letters seems to be all love letters, Kazuya, you sure are popular, even though you have a girlfriend, girls are still flirting with you."

"Yuu, I'm sorry but..."

Kazuya explained Yuu about the reason that he said that Hideko is her girlfriend, but told a little lie along that.

"Ah, so your from a really far away province and doesn't know what girlfriend means, so you thought that girlfriend means a friend whose gender is a girl, right..? It's completely fine, don't sweat it."

"Really? Then, okay."

After reading all of the letters, Kazuya bought tons of paper from the canteen then came back writing something.

"Hey, what are you writing?"

"A reply. It's going to be rude if I don't send my reply to them. I'm too busy to have a soulmate so this is the only thing I could do."

"Hah, isn't it too much work? I'll help you, I'll seal the envelopes."

The two helped each other out and accomplished it before the homeroom teacher comes. Kazuya was listening to the teacher closely and was taking notes, when he noticed that there's still a letter he didn't read.

He opened it, and started to read it.

"Please come to the rooftop during lunch break, I will be waiting."

Kazuya returned the letter and listened again on the teacher while waiting for the lunch break. Eventually, lunch break came.

"Hey, Kazuya, want to go to the canteen?"

"Sorry, but a letter said that I should go to the rooftop."

"Ooh, a confession on the rooftop huh? Very typical thing, indeed. Go ahead."

"Yeah, thanks."

Kazuya climbed the stairs to the rooftop, and opened the door. The moment he opened the door, he saw some men sitting around like a duck and some men that is standing around staring at him.

"Yo, handsome, you really took the bait, huh? Just let me tell you something important, in this school, were reminding popular boys, who the boss are!"

A bald man with killer eyes charged at Kazuya while holding a steel pipe. He's attempting to assault Kazuya with it. Kazuya sensed the danger, that's why he took left step to dodge.

While dodging, Kazuya was thinking:

"Isn't it forbidden to kill someone here? Then, they're... challenging this government?! What honorable warriors, It would be rude to not fight with them, while they're doing their best. As a warrior, I can't accept that!"

Kazuya dodged all of them at once, as they try to catch him. But Kazuya jumped and shouted:

"Oh, The Great Tiger, Respond to my call. Those who stand in my way will face the The wrath of a Tiger! Come, Tiger Saber!"

A blue light enveloped the whole room. Everyone was dumbfounded on what's happening right now. At the blue light, a knife with chips emerged, given that it retrieved one Soul Seal, it became much stronger than before.

The moment Kazuya stepped at the ground, all of the gangsters already fainted.

"Huh? All of them are unconscious? What a disappointment. They can't call themselves warriors if they're this weak. It's guess I'm just going to go back."

Kazuya was about to go back when he suddenly felt the sensation he felt when he first met Hideko. A Soul Seal was nearby! He looked back and saw a man with violet hair, with a glasses and actually a little handsome.

"Cool! How did you do that?! Is that some kind of magic trick?! Okay, so you'll be my Big Bro!"

"Big Bro?"

"It means I'm your bread shuttle or something else."

Kazuya doesn't even know what bread shuttle means. So he just didn't mind it and looked at the boy closely. There's no doubt about it, this boy is the holder of the Second Seal.

"What's your name?"

Kazuya asked the boy, it's name and just replied:

"Me? I'm Sakurajima Hajime! I'll be in your care!"

With that, Kazuya gone back to the classroom, while Hajime is tailing him.

"What could be depressing for a good-looking boy like that? I need to gather more clues, it means that, I need to... get close to him somehow!"

"Mr. Satoru! Mr. Satoru!"

Kazuya was being called by their history teacher, but Kazuya is mumbling to himself, on and on. Until the teacher, reached her peak and shouted:

"Mr. Satoru!"

"Yes, maam"

At last, the teacher reached Kazuya's deep thinking.

"What are you mumbling about?! Your not listening aren't you?!"

"I'm listening"

"Then, if your really listening, who is the most powerful man in the country at the Edo Period?"

"It's Tokugawa Ieyasu."

Kazuya answered brilliantly on the teacher's question. Kazuya came from the Edo Period, so there's no doubt he can answer that.

"That's just a fluke! Then, who was called the monkey-faced?"

"Hideyoshi."

"The Capital of Japan, that day."

"Yokohama."

"The splitting of belly if a samurai fails his mission."

"Seppuku."

Kazuya answered all of the questions, and the teacher is trying her best to make Kazuya fall. But Kazuya came from it, so he really knows the events

"Last Question, who is the legendary samurai who killed many people at the young age of 13?"

"Umm, umm"

The teacher wore a smug face, because Kazuya was having a hard time answering.

"Come on, take your time. Don't rush."

"It's Kakuju."

"Your wrong, Kakuju is the bodyguard of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The correct answer is Tiger. No one knows his name, so they called him Tiger. You can have your seat now."

Kazuya have a seat and he was dumbfounded. He can't believe that he himself is in the history of Japan. He can't wait to tell it to his Master. Soon, classes are over and Kazuya walked with Yuu and Hideko like always.

He said his goodbye's to his friends then gone to his house. After that, he told his gramps, everything that happened so far. The two just laughed and told some stories about what happened. But Kazuya suddenly changed the flow of the story.

"Master, I found the Second Soul Seal."

"Mmm, tell me the details."

Kazuya told his Master the events of how he met the boy, what happened after, and so on and so forth.

"You idiot! Don't summon your Tiger Saber if unnessary! If they found out that you have an extraordinary sword, you will be experimented by some people, and they will be dissecting you!"

"Ehhh!?"

Actually, that's not going to happen, there's hardly any scientist who will waste their time on someone. But it's enough to give Kazuya some chills. Later on, they came back on topic and talked about the second holder of Soul Seal.

"Then, first, you needed to know what kind of Soul Seal he is holding. Hideko's Soul Seal was the First, right? The First Soul Seal is Dead Calm. That's why she's always calm"

"I see, Master, it doesn't mean that Hajime was my second target, he holds the Second Seal, he can hold a different Seal, right?"

"Mmm, your right. For now, you should get close to that boy, until to the point the he open up to you."

Kazuya woke up in the morning, and the shouting of "Big Bro!, Big Bro!" can be heard on the neighborhood. He didn't mind it and just took a bath, ate breakfast, wore his uniform then opened the door.

"Hello, Big Bro, let's walk to school!"

"Yeah, I see,"

Hajime and Kazuya walked together to school then encounters Hideko on the riverside.

"Umm, Kazuya, who is is this boy?"

"Hello! I am Sakurajima Hajime, nice to meet you! Big Bro's girlfriend!"

"Girlfriend!?"

The two shouted in unison and they're both blushing. They're faces are as red as tomato. With that, they continued their walk to the school. It seems that Hajime came from Class 1-C, so they can't see each other for a while.

The moment lunch break begun, Hajime immediately came on Kazuya's class and asked:

"Big Bro! Your orders!"

"Orders?! Do I need to give one?"

"Of course! Your my Big Bro and I'm your bread shuttle so you need to give orders!"

Kazuya scratched his cheek and thought for a minute then gave out his orders:

"Then, come eat with us."

"Really? If that's what you want then..."

With that, the four ate lunch together. Happily chatting to each other, while Hajime was out of place. Kazuya involved him in his circle of friends, that's why he needed to take responsibility and make sure Hajime won't get insecured. Kazuya was about to speak to Hajime, when Yuu spoke to everyone.

"Guys, there's a good fortune-teller on the town. They all said that she was good! Want to come together?!"

"Sure, why not? Hajime, want to come?"

"If that's what Big Bro wants then, I shall go!"

The four ended their conversation amd waited for the class to end. After 4 hours, the classes ended and they're preparing to go to the fortune-teller. Kazuya was gone to fetch Hajime in his class when:

"Damn! That rotten guy! He's acting like goody-two shoes but in truth, he just want to use me like them! Kazuya Satoru, I hate it when your acting nice!"

Kazuya overheard Hajime throwing a tantrum and shouting on the Class 1-C's room.

"Because of that now I know, Hajime's Soul Seal is Presence Erasure. Hajime, just wait, I'm going to save you!"

END OF CHAPTER 2
