Chapter 6

~thy memories~

"Lesley, come down! Your Papa brought something for you!"

The 6 years old little girl with red locks started running down the ruined stairs of their little, rubble house. They lived peacefully up on a abandoned rooftop of a house. They made it their own house, leaving the owner of the house downstairs clueless about their well-being.

"Papa!" Squealed Lesley as she hugs her Papa tightly.

"Hey there, little chili pepper." Her Papa said and carried her on his shoulders. "How are you?"

"I missed you, Papa." Lesley said.

"Papa misses you too, Lesley." Her Papa said.

They were a happy family. And they don't care about their financial status as long as they're happy.

They were contented with everything they had.

And, that very night, as Lesley was sleeping peacefully, a loud shatter of a glass filled their little rooftop house.

The red headed little girl woke up and looked around. She was scared. She got out of her bed and carefully walked out of her room.

Just as she approached the small living room, she didn't had the time to avoid the blood that splattered all over the place, covering her face with blood.

And there, she saw that it was her Mama's own blood. She was being stabbed at repeatedly. Her father was lying down, bloody dead.

Lesley's tears had its own mind that it fell down to her cheeks.

She was seeing with her own eyes how her parents were being murdered.

She took her Papa's riffle from her parents' once shared room and shot every enemy right on the forehead. And yet, there was one who was standing there, blade on his hand.

"No one in this family should be left alive." Said the man. "That includes you!"

Before he could get near Lesley, a gunshot was heard.

Lesley was frightened, because it wasn't her who shot him.

"Leave the kid alone." Said the man who shot the killer of her parents.

"This isn't done yet, kid." The man said. "You're lucky a Vance saved you. Be prepared, the Paxleys will not rest until we kill each and everyone of you!"

And with that, he jumped off the rooftop house, vanishing into thin air.

As for Lesley, all she ever did was mourn in pain. Her family is gone. Dead. Murdered.

"Red head." Called Mr. Vance. "You're not safe here anymore. The Patriarch of the Paxleys is still after you."

Lesley didn't have the mood to respond. She was really sad.

"Kiddo, what do you say you'll become a Vance?"

Lesley looked at Mr. Vance. "What do you mean?"

"I'll adopt you and you'll become my daughter. You'll live with us. And we'll avenge your family." Mr. Vance said.

"Fair deal, Mister." Lesley said.

"Good." Mr. Vance said. "Do you have a name?"

"Lesley." She replied.

"From now on, you're Lesley Vance. And, you're my daughter."

Right after burying her parents properly, Lesley went off with Mr. Vance.

"By the way, is this riffle yours?" He asked.

"No, it's Papa's." She replied.

"For a 6 years old, you've got talent." Mr. Vance complimented. "You'd become a great sniper."

And there, her flare began to flame up. And all she ever wanted to be since then was to be the greatest sniper ever.

Lesley met her new family. Her Father, Ruszel Vance. Her Mother, Haley Vance. And her little brother, Harley Vance.

She got used to being a part of the family. They treated her well, especially Harley. He loved his big sister more than anything in the world.

As time went by, Lesley accepted everything and had the desire to be a great assassin. Her Mother, Haley, has always wanted to disagree, yet, she wants Lesley to be happy.

And, in one cold night, the Vance Manor was filled with the creepy chills Lesley used to had back then. It was the same feeling she had the day her family died.

She stood up carefully and took her riffle. She quietly checked Harley's room. But, Harley wasn't there.

She went down to the main hall of the Manor and found Harley and their Father. Ruszel was holding a gun while Harley was holding his cards.

"What are you two doing here?" Asked Lesley.

"I felt creeps." Harley said.

"Me too." Father said.

"Where's Mother?" Lesley asked.

But before Ruszel could respond, a gunshot filled the creeped out Vance Manor.

And only one thing got in the three Vances' minds.

"Mother." Said the three in sync.

They run up to the Vance couple's shared room. There, they saw Haley Vance lying on the shared bed, dead. The sheets were covered with blood.

And on the wall was a message written with Haley's blood:

'Stay safe, red head. You're next.

- P'

Lesley was smart enough to know who P was.

It was the Paxleys. They killed the only mother she had left.

Lesley became miserable. Her dark hunger for revenge soon became stronger.

Ruszel Vance became a psychopath. He became the most dangerous man on Earth. He even hurts his own children.

Harley became depressed. He lost his mother, he was always looked down and he was always called a disappointment.

"What will you do now, daughter?" Asked her Father.

Lesley looked at him with those dark, scary and dangerous eyes. The once street rat orphan became the most terrifying creature in the Land of Dawn.

"Revenge."
