...when I agreed to this, I didn't expect this.

I was shoved to the side and told not to interfere...aw come on, I can summon the boss too, and I can fight too.

looking over I see naruto shoving a Rasengan through his abdomen...ah I have nothing to do, and then a giant bone was thrown at me.

jumping back I see the bone dude...I mean kimimaro.

channeling lightning chakra through my sword and activating my Godspeed jutsu I close in on him, but unfortunately couldn't slice through the skin as he sprouted bones from his body to keep me away.

getting back I try using substitution but there's nothing to use it on.

deciding that enough is enough, I use my [storm release: Longsword] and start cutting through the bones.

he tries blocking my jutsu but ultimately fails, and that costs him an arm.

jumping back, I get ready to dash in again, but I felt another presence...Orochimaru is dashing at me with his Kusanagi...oh no what do I do?

using replacement jutsu on Kimimaro he gets slain by his own master.

...okay that battle was short and I got Orochimaru pissed.

looking over at me, anger overtakes his features, well damn it.

dashing towards me with a Kage speed he tries to punch me in the face.

...I saw it coming, I knew I had to dodge, But a Kage-level speed is no joke, and the power behind it stings quite a bit.

getting punched in the face, I was sent flying into the rubble.

I was not out of the fight but It would be hard to do combat right now, so I do the only thing reasonable, I summon the boss wolf.

{oh? a snake, a slug, and a toad, we have quite the battle ahead of us don't you agree Haruto?} said the newly summoned Black wolf the size of gamabunta.

"Alpha, the toad, and the slug are on our side, we need to handle the snake" I inform the boss wolf, and get ready to dodge Orochimaru's attack... if I can.

by this time Orochimaru landed back on Manda's head.

no one moved...it was like a Mexican standoff?

"go," I say, and Alpha dashes off for the snake.

Manda tried to coil around the canine but ultimately failed when Gamabunta used his sword to block him off.

biting down on the snake's body Alpha holds him down.

(I got a crazy idea, but this is what I might need right now) jumping from the head of my summon, I head straight for Orochimaru, but the snake opens its mouth to swallow me...

perfect.

I hear my name being called but I ignore it.

since the scales are too hard to rip through why not attack from inside.

using the storm longsword again, I stab through the snake's neck...or body? whatever, what's important is that I stabbed through it, and spin.

Mamba went up in a poof of smoke.

everyone was surprised when they saw this, has none ever thought of something similar?

landing on the ground I make some distance between me and the falling snake summoner.

but instead of attacking the retreats, and I don't blame him, the wolf behind me is intimidating, it has nothing to do with the toad and the slug, nothing at all.

after confirming that he left, all three of the summons disappeared in a puff of smoke.

coming up to me Jiraya starts.

"that was reckless you know? what happened to the kid that fought smart? what came over you to jump down Mamba's throat?" he starts lecturing.

"oh, I don't know? guts?" I say my voice full of sarcasm.

"honestly, even if it worked, it was too risky," said Tsunade.

...it worked, didn't it? sure I might have died, but that's shinobi life for you, it's not sunshine and rainbows, it's a job filled with death.

"so anyway what happened to kabuto?" I ask and turn to Naruto.

"He got away, somehow healed himself from a fully powered Rasengan," he said with a huff and turned his head away.

yup, that about sums it up.

"Alright let's go back, I'm tired, I got hit by a Kage level shinobi, and Im kinda dizzy," I say and get up to my feet, feeling a hand on my cheek I look over and see Tsunade is using a jutsu to heal me...I need to learn that.

"you got scrolls for medical jutsu?" I ask looking at her hand that's still glowing green.

"Yeah, I do but it won't be easy to learn it, and Im not willing to give it for free"... I can go to a library you know? but I guess her notes are worth it...how do I make her stronger again?

" I'll fix that seal on your forehead," I say and she looks over at me with a raised eyebrow.

"what do you mean? fix it?" she asked genuinely confused.

"well, you are using only half of your chakras content, from what I can tell, it uses your life energy to heal wounds shortening your lifespan, and yang part of the chakra, I'll make it so you can use the Yin part too so it doesn't cost you your lifespan" I point out, honestly how did she not think of this?

there was silence before she sighed, and put a hand over her forehead.

"fine, I'll give you all of my scrolls on medical jutsu, they have my notes on it and maybe you can get some ideas, when can you do whatever you just said?" she accepted the offer, I got my scrolls and she gets her lifespan, win-win.

"I can start right now, or whenever you're ready," I say, and unsealed ink and paper.

done, the fight was short but the replacement jutsu is underrated and underused.

sasuke uses his switch thingy but you can do it with replacement too, it's just a more fancy version of it.

So yeah, short fights are ninja fights, and in my fic, there are going to be short fights.
