42 Girl's Talk

(A.N. Sorry for being absent for so long. As soon as I promised 3 weeks of chapters, I took a week off because of a total burnout of everything as well as having to do all the chores around the house because I'm alone for two weeks.)

The night of their birthday went without issue. Festivities were had, the adults shared some alcohol, Izuku and Diluc enjoyed some presents, everything was fine.

Until it was not.

Mitsuki and her husband got into a small debate, the husband wanted to go back home and bring Katsuki to the party, obviously, Mitsuki was a bit annoyed at how much he pushed this issue.

They had a small argument before separating themselves from the party and actually having a fight about it.

Thankfully, Diluc and Anri were the only ones who were able to hear them, they were pissed at each other but neither wanted to ruin the party, they weren't so immature.

However, the husband seemed immature enough to push the issue despite the fact that everyone told him it was a terrible idea. Mitsuki might not be a perfect mother, since she was at the birthday party of the child that beat the shit out of her child, however, at least she didn't try and get him beaten up again.

Even after bringing this up, the husband didn't budge in the slightest. The anime portrayed him as a shy guy that was definitely a sub, even though he probably was, he was pushing against his wife as much as possible.

Before it turned into a domestic debate settled by fists, Diluc came to calm the two of them down.

"Please calm down the two of you." He asked. Mitsuki still had an enraged expression but forcibly calmed herself down, the husband didn't seem to change his stance in the slightest.

"Katsuki and I can't be called friends. He's spent the last couple of years bullying my brother, I'd appreciate it if you don't bring him here. If you are really concerned for him for being alone, feel free to go home and spend some time with him." Diluc spoke. Mitsuki grew smug and the husband didn't say anything and left.

"Sorry about that. I didn't want you to see that. And I'm even more sorry about my son bullying Izuku, I'll have a word with him tomorrow." She apologized.

"Please don't. The teachers have talked to him many times and it's only painted a bigger target on his back. I'm not always around to subjugate Katsuki." He explained.

"I see... Well, I should leave, I've caused enough trouble as is." Mitsuki spoke as she inspected her handbag for anything she forgot.

"You haven't caused trouble to anyone yet. You can stay as long as you like. You are far more enjoyable to be around than your son. If you'd like, you can continue drinking with Inko." Diluc told her. She thought for a second.

"You know what? I may as well. There isn't anything better to do after having marriage troubles than have a girl's night." She spoke.

"I'll put Izuku to bed, have fun." He said as he went to fetch Izuku who was currently sitting on the cough, barely conscious because of being so tired. It was approaching midnight and they fought a villain, so it made sense.

Inko, Mitsuki, Yuria, Kath and Anri had the times of their lives talking about whatever the hell girls talk about. Probably something to do with makeup and shopping, Diluc couldn't follow the conversation even though he was sitting next to them and attempting to understand.

Instead of remaining in limbo where he didn't really understand what the hell was being said, Diluc retreated to his room to rest. Momo was already face first into the pillow he used. He pushed her to the side slightly and slept next to her.

Momo hugged him in her sleep.

Downstairs, the girls continued their gossip.

"I'm surprised by you all, I don't know how I'd react if a couple of cute girls were brought home by my son all of a sudden." Mitsuki spoke while sipping some wine.

"It was quite a shock for me as well. Momo, Yuria then Katherine. All back-to-back, only recently did Anri join us." Inko stated.

"Well, what can I say? Your son is awfully charming. Although, in his quirk, he's an adult. Imagine my surprise when I was greeted with a child." Yuria giggled.

"I'd say, from a badass immortal ashen one, to a human child. It was quite a shock. How about you Mitsuki, how's your marriage going?" Kath spoke. She had gotten more familiar with all of the differences in culture over the years.

"It's getting more and more difficult to stay together with him. We just don't share a spark anymore. Katsuki isn't helping with it, since he's constantly getting into trouble at school..." Mitsuki realized that she was bringing the mood of the room down.

"Er, sorry for rambling, don't worry about it." She spoke and drank some more wine.

"No, tell us more, get it off your chest." Yuria encouraged.

"I don't really know what else to say. We don't spend time anymore, we don't have sex anymore, we don't even take Katsuki out to do anything anymore. It feels like divorce is right on the horizon." She vented. The alcohol helped in getting her to talk.

"I know that feeling..." Inko added. Technically, she was still married to her husband, but they haven't even talked in years, much less actually seen each other.

"Sometimes I just want a knight in shining armor to whisk me away from everything for a while..." Mitsuki dreamed.

"Anyway, how are you girls going with Diluc?" She added.

"Well, there isn't much to say. We've been going fine. Unfortunately, this world's laws dictate we must wait yet another year to have sex with him." Yuria spoke. Mitsuki spat out some wine.

"Sex? I didn't think you were so... involved." Mitsuki said.

"Why wouldn't we be? He's out betrothed after all. If we didn't want everything of his, we wouldn't be very good wives. Although I say this, I understand that the situation of you two... is different." Yuria spoke.

"You mean the situation of our marriage?" Mitsuki asked.

"No, she's talking about the quality of men, Diluc is on a completely different level of any other man." Anri spoke. She had been almost completely silent during the conversation, so hearing such high praise out of nowhere was quite surprising to both Inko and Mitsuki.

"Hahaha! May I ask why you've got such high expectations of him?" Mitsuki asked.

"There simply isn't anyone nearly as handsome, although you would be forgiven for not realizing that yet. He isn't grown up in this world, after all." She spoke.

"Not only is there a massive difference in strength from every other man, he also has the most amount of willpower possible in a human. Most likely even surpassing Artorias himself." She continued.

"Wait, who's Artorias?" Mitsuki inquired.

"A legend in our world. It is said that he protected our world from the invasion of the abyss for eons. Unfortunately, even he was consumed by the abyss eventually..." Anri told them about the story of Artorias.

(A.N., I know this story is exaggerated but that's what happened with legends.)

"And you say that Diluc's willpower is higher?" Mitsuki asked.

"By a margin. No matter how many times he died within the confines of Anor Londo, he always ran back to Pontiff Sulyvahn to try and slay him again." She spoke with sparkles in her eyes.

"What?" Mitsuki and Inko simultaneously gasped.

"You weren't supposed to tell them that much!" Kath and Yuria almost strangled Anri.

"You will tell us." Inko and Mitsuki both spoke.

Inko already knew the details of the ability, but was always left in the dark about what happened within the confines of his quirk. This was her chance to understand more about what world her son inhabited.

Mitsuki on the other hand was concerned. Diluc had only ever told her about fighting, not to the death and certainly not actually dying.

"It's probably best if neither of you know." Kath told them.

"Why would I give up a chance to know more about him?" Inko asked worriedly.

"What she said. You can't just say something like that and not tell us the full story." Mitsuki pressured.

Fortunately for them, Yuria was happy to tell them all about it. She believed that as people close to Diluc, they had the right to know, even if it worried them. At least this way, they'd be able to comfort him. And they might even gain another sister in the form of Mitsuki. Who's a better fit for 'Knight in shining armor' than Diluc?

Therefore, Yuria told them, despite Kath and Anri constantly trying to get her to not go through with it. Unfortunately, she didn't listen and babbled.
