14 Back to the Portal

Early morning on the 14th, Seb had prepared their things towards the site. Karla woke up first before Nomin.

" Here's your breakfast and for Nomin, a coffee to both of you too.

" Thanks." Karla smiled at him.

Nomin joined Karla and they quickly finished the meal. After taking a bath, she fixed herself and the three of them headed towards the site. When they reached there, the red ribbon for the ceremonnial ribbon cutting was just on the main gate. Most of the stockholders reached there very early but there were people who picketed at the gate.

"They were all angels" Seb thought.

"Really?" Nomin looked at him.

Then the old man arrived and declared the land title the company CEO currently holds is fake.

"Do you know that old man?" Nomin asked Seb in his thought.

"It's Banli who transformed to the real landowner's face. If the head angel interferes, there's maybe a big problem behind. I presupposed he is just protecting our portal. On the other hand, I know for sure that the landowner already donated that land to Banli prior to the company's purchase. I must find this out when I report to the office on Monday." Seb explained.

"The CEO has arrived." Please give him a way. The company guard summoned everyone.

" Sir, your land title is fake and ours is original. Based from our record, the person who made a transaction with you on this was named Demido. If you insist to continue your plan here, it's considered land grabbing that the law prohibits." Banli firmly declared.

"Then what took you so long to react over this issue when our men kept coming here, inspectors and surveyors since the last three weeks."

"Sir, my house is just below the old park, no one visited us from your office ever since. For all you know, this place had a sentimental value to us, since Spanish period, our ancestors had been here. But if I may suggest, I have an extra of 10 hectare land, we may swap it from this old park. It's just adjacent here which could probably be covered by Agrarian Reform if I'm not going to sell it, if you wish to avail it in lieu of this 10 hectare land, I'd be willing to offer it, just to surely preserve this old park. Anyway, I still have 50 more hectares for my staff and laborers. If you have your lawyer right now, we can quickly arrange the settlement of just one million for that 10 hectare. It's too cheap already, and I can wait for the papers to be revised. We have lots of witnesses around and a representing body from the barangay officials. If you continue the ribbon cutting, let's transfer the ribbons there with the help of my team. Would that suffice everyone?" Banli further explained.

"Okay, how about the damages?" The CEO exclaimed.

" I did not cause any damage because I was not informed. I was supposed to complain why people are doing transactions over my property, without me knowing? However, it's nice to be humane. So I speak for everyone not to grab anything without my knowledge."

The board and the CEO immediately met and discussed the matter if they will just swap it or if all is willing to pay for the swapping fee of one million and will later sue Demido and his lawyer.

" Sir, it's too cheap, my goodness. It's just the price of a 200 sq mtrs in the city. I bet for this." One of the stockholders complemented and the rest followed.

"The CEO approved after there were never any motion raised as they shortly adjourned. They returned to the gate and spoke to the owner in agreeing of the proprietor's proposal and suggestion.

After an hour, the ribbon cutting was transfered to the site suggested and still it was a successful thanksgiving. There was enough food that everybody enjoyed.

Nomin, Karla and Seb went up to the old park while the rest were busy of the celebration in the new site. They sat on the bench filled with yellow berries. Now I understand, this is the portal of all angels. This is where one arrives and departs. That's why the bulbs are lighted that I really wonder why. It was because I didn't see anyone's departure and arrival.

" Yes, absolutely. Angels' portal, no one can see angels, except angels. You have not died yet so you are still mortal. What makes you immortal is my body. Seb explained to Nomin.

" Yes. It's true. Thank you Lord...your plans are greater than mine, I'll wait." Nomin whispered and looked up the skies. He breathe in and out as he closed his eyes.

Karla held their hands, swing them as they walked towards the main gate. They saw Gloria waiting for them.

" Hi guys, I think we have to go ahead, see you in the house." She smiled.

" Yes mom, we're heading back there too, have a safe trip." Commented Seb.

When they were about to board inside the car, Banli approached Seb. Son, Demido brought a lot of demons from the lost world. They are with him right now. Take care, God be with you."

Seb bowed his head and smiled to the old man.

They left the place and we're heading to their destination in Sta. Cruz, back to their place. On their way, five people blocked their car and requested the driver to get out. Nomin made Karla slept again and transformed her as a kitten and put her in his packbag which he tagged at his back. Seb looked at Nomin to prepare. They were gone and landed on high branches of trees above. The five persons also transformed into being dark shadows and followed them. Before they could reach them, Seb and Nomin released an electrifying lightning coming from their hands and defeated them all. They got back to the car and continued the travel.

" Isn't it amazing when you are with an expert guardian angel. Your loyalty and compassion is amazing." Nomin winked his eye on him.
