22 Chapter 21

Jesper's POV~ 

Jesper lit his cigarette while in deep thought. After knowing what Derora had done, he was even more keen on continuing with their plan. "The three of them left the door open for me anyway," he thought while staring at the cave in front of him. A few days after the man in the black fedora hat helped him, Jesper informed his team about the discovery. Terrance and Candice were willing to help if the men in the suits did the same. After getting the message over the radio the three of them and the fedora man arrived at the cave.

Candice slapped the cigarette out of Jesper's hand with her long spidery fingers before entering the cave. He liked that she didn't care about anyone, and that her sharp nails matched the red lipstick she always wore. Terrance always wore a cold shield around her, and she liked him for that. It was the only reason they got along as partners. The two men standing guard at the cave basically drooled over Candice. 

They let us through the passage towards the double doors. Like described, a layer of water covered the whole inside. Blue light slipped past the doors, reflecting on the water and causing the walls to glisten. Jesper peeked around the opening to see that the blue light came from an orb. He took his phone from his pocket to take photos. One of the men on guard spoke to Terrance as if he's seen a ghost. Terrance took notes of everything he said while constantly pushing his "light filtering" glasses up his crooked nose. The note taking gesture made Jesper wonder what happened to David. He was supposed to give the notebook to Jesper. People were starting to wonder where Leona and David had disappeared to.

The room behind the doors was unlike anything Jesper had seen before. Some statues lined the walls like tiny soldiers. His partners took samples of everything while the uniformed men looked for any traces of Derora. Candice strutted towards the orb, but instantly retracted her fingers as it gave a loud zap. Glad that he got it on video Jesper suppressed a laugh.

"A Big storm is coming," Terrance whispered under his breath when he saw the wall. The date and country that Leona and the others disappeared to still flashed on the wall. He knew it was going to be an interesting trip to Scottland 1998
