Through Hell and Back

When I opened my eyes, I found myself falling. Before I could even register where I was, I impacted the water below me. I tried to swim, to escape the water, but I got bogged down by my own thoughts. I made it out eventually, but the landscape that greeted me was anything but pleasant. I found myself in Tartarus. I was lucky enough to have something to let me survive, the power to adapt to anything. I'd adapt to this environment, and with a little something extra I'd survive and escape.
