1 White Room

''Hehe'' Ash snickered as he stood still in a complete white room.

The room was silent, no one nearby, completely empty. There was no end, it seem to go forever as far as Ash could see.

''I'm not back, am I?'' Asked Ash but was met with complete silence.

The silence continued.

''Whatever'' Ash then plopped on the ground and waited for something to come.

When the apocalypse happened, many people were arrogant when they came out of this white room, they thought they were strong but ultimately at the end were crushed as if they were ants.

Of course when there are strong people, there were also weak people who couldn't do anything and hid from the world hiding forever just to live.

He, on the other hand wasn't strong nor weak thus he survived, being a weak was a sin, a sin that was cursed. People look down upon you, ants that you viewed as toys turned the tables around and toyed on you instead.

Is it unfair? Yes, the world was never fair, be it the people who were born with golden spoons or people who have limitless talents, they can have something because of those while you are working hard for a small amount of money.

Hardwork will only compensate a small part of talent, whether you can continue it up to you.

Ash didn't do anything until a blue screen appeared before him.

[The toturial of destiny will now begin!]

''Finally, I waited ages'' Ash immediately stood up in a combat stance.

The toturial of destiny or this white room is somewhere you can't die, it's a mechanism to test people potential, when your potential is high you can change your race or you'll gain supernatural powers and if it's low you will only get at most a small portion of strength increase.

Not only people will partake in this turtorial but also other organism such as fishes, plants and animals, but also other creatures of other planets. In other words aliens.

Suddenly a small green creature appeared before him.

[Stage 1: Defeat the goblin]

''Tsk'' Ash clicked his tongue as he charged forward grabbing the goblin who didn't have the time to react and smashed it's head to the ground.

The goblin screeched in pain but Ash didn't stop until it was dead, after a while the goblin dropped it's hand and Ash kicked the body away once he saw that.

Goblins were naturally weaker than humans so he could take it down easily. Normal adult goblins were even weaker than female humans in terms of natural physical strength thus winning was just a matter of time.

'Ah yes, I forgot, there were achievements' Ash wasn't particularly surprised when he got the achievement, everybody must be confused by getting suddenly dragged in this white room, even more when a goblin will suddenly spawn in front of you.

[Stage 2 will commence]

This time what spawned was the same creature but bigger.

[Stage 2: Defeat the hobgoblin]

The hobgoblin average strength was stronger than a normal adult man, also the hobgoblins were even more cruel than it's juniors. Defeating a hobgoblin will be three times more difficult than defeating a normal goblin.

But Ash wasn't afraid, in his eyes the hobgoblin was just a normal small fry, even though he returned to his body before the 'Rebirth' he still could easily kill one.

Ash charged forward without any hesistation, again the hobgoblin couldn't react in time as it fell when his legs got kicked by Ash.

Ash then kicked it's crotch and quickly went for the head lock as he didn't gave the hobgoblin any air for it to breathe slowly suffocating it.

After several minutes the hobgoblin ran out of air.

This time Ash did frown, he didn't really expect to get the first achievement twice. Yes, he didn't hesistate to kill the hobgoblin but it still took him several minutes to defeat the hobgoblin, there must be some other people or aliens to defeat it quicker than that.

[Stage 3 will commence, stage 3 will be more difficult than the other two stages by a qualitive leap because of that please choose a weapon.]

A blue projection appeared before Ash with familiar weapons.

The weapons were pretty limited, a bow, crossbow, sword, katana, long sword, daggers, shield and sword and several others.

'My prefered weapon isn't here' Ash looked around but didn't saw his weapon that he used in the apocalypse thus he chose a longsword, a weapon that he used in the beginning, his profiency with the longsword is quite high in his opinion.

[Stage 3: Defeat the Garg'en]

In this stage Ash was confident to get the achievement again, Garg'en is a small fry in the apocalypse but it will only turn into a small fry once you know it's weakness.

The Garg'en had the form of a dog but was about the same height as a car, the whole body is covered with fur that has very high resistance to blunt attacks and sharp weapons.

The head of the Garg'en is round instead of a dog, it didn't have any great power nor speed, the only they have is very high defense but the weak spot is under it's body somewhere in the middle of the belly.

Ash retreated a bit back and rushed towards the Garg'en which already detected him and roared.

Most of the people would be immediately afraid by that roar but Ash who survived the 'Rebirth' for two hundred years, the roar would sound cute, he heard far more terrifying roars in his long life.

Ash quickly slide and used his longsword to pierce the belly of the Garg'en who roared in utter pain slowly dying of blood loss.

Ash didn't hesistate and clicked on continue, if he ended right now, the best he could get is a boost in his overall capabilities by 5 to 10 times. It may seem much for only this small amount of effort but he would only get that because of his extra achievement rewards.

But even with 5 to 10 times overall capability increase, he would only count as a small fry in the apocalypse. Maybe at the beginning he could survive for about 1 to 3 years but further than that, he will only die pitifully.

[Stage 4: Defeat the rock golem!]

This time his longsword would be useless because it's a golem made out of rock, obviously that his sword would be useless.

Ash threw the longsword towards the golem that was easily slapped.

The difficulty increased dramatically as usual he wasn't afraid and already had a plan to defeat it.

Ash used the golem's slowness to his advantage and climbed up the golem's head very nimbly, the golem swiped with his arm towards him but instead of sitting there, he jumped down and quickly went to the side.

The golem punched literally itself and landed on the ground with half of it's head broken, in the middle of the head was a shining orb exposed.

Ash already ran towards his sword and sprinted back before the golem could stand up and pierced the orb.

Once the orb was pierced the golem suddenly collapsed with no further movements at all.

Ash suddenly felt a warm comfortable feeling spreading throughout his body. 'Mmh, double the strength is still a bit too little for this stage, but it's still better than nothing'
