10 Trouble in Russia Part III

inside the building, Lix, Ryuu, Eiji, and Dimitry started to move until they heard a scream coming from near their position. They went to check from where it came from and once they were near it, they saw a woman in military uniform that was butchered by an Ashborn that had the appearance of a chimera. the four of them summoned their weapons and went to attack the chimera. The chimera saw them coming towards itself but was too late because Lix did a clean cut on the back right leg making the chimera cry in pain. Soon after, the chimera tried to land a hit on Lix to which he countered by evading the attack while doing another clean-cut but this time he did it on the front left leg. Meanwhile, Eiji tried to land a cut on the chimera's body but this one turned right and hit Eiji with the tail sending him flying towards one of the walls knocking him unconscious.

Ryuu on the other hand went on for a diagonal downward cut to which he landed on the left side of the chimera's body. Soon after, Dimitry jumped and did a downward spin attack to which he also landed and cut the tail of the chimera making it cry in pain. Nevertheless, the chimera started to go rampage against them making them back off away from the chimera. Then, Eiji woke up and saw the chimera going berserk and went to attack the wall that he was in. He evaded the chimera's attack and did a clean cut on the right front leg making it to fell to its knees. Lix seeing the large opportunity that was in front of him rushed himself towards the chimera to then jump and do a clean cut separating the head from the body.

Lix looked at Eiji who gave him a thumbs up while smiling at him and he responded by just doing a thumbs up. The four of them unsummoned their weapons and went to check the body of the woman who was laying down on the floor...

Dimitry: " why does her face seem familiar."

Eiji: "Do you know her?"

Dimitry: "I'm not sure but something feels familiar about this woman."

Ryuu: "For now, let's keep going before more Ashborn appear."

Lix: "And found who's responsible for this."

The four of them started walking towards the stairs and went to the next floor. Once on the next floor, a small group of Ashborns with the resemblance of goblins and skeletons noticed them and started attacking them. The four of them summoned their Heikis once more and went on against the group of Ashborns. Two skeletons tried to land a hit on Lix but he evaded the first one to then cut it in half and blocked the second one to which he counterattacked by pushing back the weapon of the skeleton with only just the tip of his sword. Eiji on the other hand was surrounded by three goblins. One of them tried to land a hit on his left leg but Eiji moved right and cut the head of the first goblin to then cut the head of the second goblin along the way. The third one jumped and tried to land an attack on Eiji's right shoulder but Eiji moved left and cut the goblin in half.

Meanwhile, Ryuu was surrounded by six enemies. Three goblins and three skeletons. Ryuu rushed towards them eliminating two of them with one swing and eliminating the others with a second swing. Then three more skeletons tried to attack Ryuu from the back but he immediately turned around and lifted his hand forward and a fireball came out from it flying towards the three skeletons and once it was in close range, this one exploded eliminating the three skeletons. Dimitry on the other hand was fighting seven skeletons to which with one swing he eliminated four of them. He then rushed towards the last three and soon after he jumped and did a forward spin attack and then cut one of them in half. He then eliminated the other two with two swings but was almost hit by what looked like a giant club. He looked at where the swing came by and saw an Ashborn with the resemblance of an orc. The others who were finished with the other enemies went on besides Dimitry and prepared themselves for the orc to attack.

The orc tried to land a downward attack but the group moved from the club's way and went on opposite sides. Lix went on and landed a clean cut on the orc's left hand. Eiji then went on and landed a cut on the right hand of the orc making this one cry in pain. Dimitry then swung his greatsword and cut both legs from the orc and Ryuu went on and cut the head of the same separating its head from the body. Dimitry looked behind him only to see a river of goblins and orc's blood. Eiji then opened his mouth and spoke some words...

Eiji: "looks like we left a floor full of corpses."

Dimitry: "You can say that again friend."

Lix: "My question is from where that orc came from? considering that he wasn't here when we arrived."

Ryuu: "Looks like he came from the floor above. so we need to move."

Eiji: "How many floors does this building have?"

Dimitry: " Don't know but we need to move as Ryuu said."

Lix: "For some reason, I feel that we're gonna find the one behind everything on the last floor."

Eiji: "Yeah."

They started to move to the next floor when Eiji stopped the others. They moved towards where Eiji was and they saw a picture of the woman that was on the floor below on one of the walls. Dimitry then saw the name that was on the picture and recognize the name. He punched the wall in frustration and then looked at Ryuu who spoke to him...

Ryuu: "I see that you recognized her."

Dimitry: "Her name was Veronika Volkova, an important military officer despite her age. Before I ended up with you guys, I was assigned to find her and bring her with me to the refuge but I couldn't find her until we saw her on the floor below us."

Eiji: "What was her age and rank, Dimitry?"

Dimitry: " For what they told me, she was 25 years old and she was a sergeant major."

Eiji: " I guess she really was an important person after all."

Ryuu: " I'm sorry to break the whole sentimental situation but we gotta go."

Dimitry: " Yeah let's move and kill those bastards."

Lix: "Looks like we all thinking the same thing but I wonder how're the girls doing."

Eiji: "Don't worry Lix, they're doing fine."

Lix: "Let's hope so."
