9 Chapter 8

["Morgan where are you?"] His classmate asked him on the other line. Hary put on his hood before he slid his car's key on his jeans pocket. The boy opened his room's window before he stepped on the roof outside

"I'm on my way. Wait for me at the rendezvous point." He mutters before he jumped on the small enough pine tree near his room, making some shuffling sound. Thankfully, the wind blows as the tree sway. Hary mentally cursed and turned into panic mode when one of his sibling's room lights turned on. He immediately jumped into another side of the wall.

His heart pounds crazily after he landed on his feet. He's nervous and he doesn't have enough time to waste so he sprinted inside the forest where his car is parked.

"Where are you going?" He almost jumps when someone asked him from behind. Hary is about to insert the key on his car's door keyhole but after hearing the sweet and high-pitched voice from someone he accidentally let go of the key, making it fall on the ground.

The blonde turned around but he doesn't see anyone. The moon is the only thing that gleamed to light the surroundings but it's now hiding behind the clouds.

"Hey Hary, I'm asking you." The clouds got blown away by strong winds and the moon finally gleamed, revealing the girl sitting on the tree branch. She's wearing a pink ruffled dress that makes her look like a doll, plus her hair on pigtails.

Hary mentally cursed once again before he picked the car key on the ground. He looked at the girl with a bored expression.

"It's none of your business." The girl smiled before she crossed her legs and placed her arm on her lap.

"None of your business my ass. You're going to that party aren't you?" Hary crossed his arms on his chest. The girl stared down at him, judging his annoying behavior.

"Yeah, so what?"

"Stupid Hary. Don't go. Trust me, if you go you might get in trouble." She sternly said sounding like a worried mother to her child, making Hary furrowed his brow at her.

"I know you're worried but I can handle myself. Aside from that, this is the only party that I'm going to attend." To his surprise, the girl jumped from the tree branch and landed on her feet before she walks towards the blonde boy.

"Yes, I'm worried. I don't want you to get your ass in trouble. So please don't go, brother. Only this time. Listen to me." Hary shook his head gently and tapped his sister's shoulder.

"No trouble tonight. I promised that. Trust me. And please, go back now. They might found out that we're still outside at this time."

"Don't let your guard down, brother. I know something might happen." The girl hugged him tight before she runs outside the forest to return to their home. After confirming the girl is out of sight, he finally inserted the key on the keyhole before he opened the car's door.

It took 10 minutes of the ride for him to finally get into the place where the party is thrown. You can even see the disco lights flickering outside and those people who attended the party making gossips, laughing, and giggling together with their friends.

Hary parked his car near the place before he removed his seatbelt and go inside. When he finally set his feet inside, the deafening sound of music blasted on his ears. Random smoke and a mixture of the smell of alcoholic drinks and a different variety of perfumes entered his nose. Different colors of disco lights and different faces of people greeted his eyes.

"Morgan!" He looked in his classmate's direction. His classmate is wearing weird eyeglasses and only his boxers while holding a cup of beer. The boy wrapped his arm around Hary's neck and dragged him in his place.

"Guys! Guess who's here!" The rest of his classmates scowl like wild animals and cheered him. He is seated at the edge of the sofa while his classmates are eating while talking to each other.

"Morgan I'm not expecting you to attend here!" The class' muse said before she handed him a cup of beer but Hary motioned her that he's not going to drink.

"Don't be so killjoy, Morgan!" Hary laughed before he gently removed his classmate's hand. The rest of his classmates agreed by the one's words, provoking him to drink too.

"Sorry mate, but I'm not going to drink. I'm just going to check if you're doing fine here." His classmates said 'Aww!' in unison. Hary gave them a lopsided smile before he picked some nachos and munch them.

"Why the classroom presidents are good kids anyway?"

"Because they are, Barbara."

"Hey, president, why don't you take a shot?" Hary is about to refuse again but his classmates cheer him to drink. He stared at the cup on his subordinate's hand who's on a grip on a cup of beer.

"I don't accept any refusal, press." His vice president added. Hary heaves a problematic sigh before he accepted it. He clamped his eyes shut forcefully and drink the beer straight. Hary can feel the burning sensation of it on his throat and put the empty cup on the table before he grimaced.

"President Morgan!" His classmates scowl while Hary picked two nachos and shoved them on his mouth.

'Hate you guys, really.' He thought.

"Press are you okay?" Their classroom's muse, Barbara, asked him before she handed him a bottle of water. He nodded his head before accepting the bottle and drink the water straight.

"I swear, next time I won't go to the party like this again to check all of you." Barbara chuckled before she seated beside him.

"It's the first time press."

"I don't care." Barbara chuckled before drinking the beer straight as if the taste won't bother her anymore.

"We are underage, why we're drinking this anyways?" Hary asked her.

"I don't know either. Let's party." She replied before handing him a cup of beer.

"But we're already doing it." Hary retorted before accepting the cup while having hesitation if he's going to drink it or not. Barbara smiled at him.

"Yeah, but the real party is just getting started since you're finally here." Barbara drink the beer on Hary's hand before she dragged her on the dance floor.

While Barbara is dancing, Hary looked at her and the others on the dance floor awkwardly. They all dance like there's no tomorrow. They don't even mind if their bodies are tired.

"Hary don't be shy, dance!" Hary turned at her awkwardly and scratched his nape while watching the girl get along the rhythm as if she's chained to it.

"I'm going to the comfort room." He excused before leaving Barbara behind. Hary lied, he excused himself that he's going to the comfort room but the truth, he doesn't want to dance because he knows that he can't. Hary made his way back to their place and sit on the couch. That's a relief for him, for a lump of being anti-social he is.

Hours have been passed and all he did is to play on his phone or sometimes watch his schoolmates went crazy. Even he did lame things, which makes him grew tired and sleepy.

"Hey dude, you sleepy?" someone asked him, Hary yawned and nodded his head while he's closing his eyes. He popped his eyes open when someone grabbed his arm and lift him.

"Dang, I want to go home. I'm sleepy." There's a hint of sleepiness on his tone while he's keeping his eyes open. They're outside of the mansion where the university's popular kid threw a party and almost everyone in the school is invited, but not the teachers and the students of the prison section. For a fifteen-year-old, he's not legal to attend a party without his parent's permission but for a boy named Hary Morgan? Who cares about permission if you act like a ninja or a con artist when it comes from escaping.

"You're going to sleep on the backseat okay?" He groggily nods before he opened his car's backseat door and slumped his back comfortably on the backseat. The one who accompanied him closed the door as Hary fall asleep and started snoring. Everything is perfectly fine until someone wakes him.

"Kid, wake up. Come on to the police station with us." The boy immediately wakes up from his slumber and yawned as the policeman knocked on his car's window.

"What is it, officer?" The cop motioned him to go outside so he obeyed. To his surprise, the cop puts on a handcuff on his wrist. He's about to complain but all of his bravery to speak up to defend himself runs out when his gaze cast down on his bloody hands. Fresh blood is covering his hands as if he used it as a sanitizer or water to clean his hands. The cop opened the passenger's seat, revealing the cold body of a girl wearing a cheerleader's uniform with a countless stab on her body, making almost many parts of her skin tore like some ferocious beast went on a rampage and attacked her.

The sound of a police siren ringed through his ears as he stared at his hands. The metal handcuffs gleamed every time the police mobile's light reflected it. Random gossips and whispers fled throughout the silence and peaceful night.

"We're taking you to the police station first. Explain everything there." Hary left confused and flabbergasted at the same time while the cops helped him to get inside of the car. Seconds after, he went back to realization and give the cop a pleading look.

"Officer I didn't do that!" Hary cried before the car's door got shut by the cop. The blood on his hands got printed at the car's backseat when he used both of his hands as support on his weight after everything on his vision spin. He groaned after the pang of pain spread on his head and the deafening siren is the last thing that he knew before his eyelids dropped and his body went numb.

"S-Sir trusts me, I haven't done anything!" The blonde boy cried while the cops dragged him inside the police station. The officer, Mr. Wynn, made him sit down on a chair and give him a serious look.

"If you haven't done anything then why your hands are covered with blood?" Hary went silent when Mr. Wynn asked him. He mentally cursed after realizing that he doesn't have any evidence to defend himself.

"I.." Mr. Wynn raised his thick with white streaks eyebrow on him. Hary is about to speak again but he closed his mouth instead.

"See?" The blonde boy looked at him in fierce even anxiety and confusion clouding his mind. Mr. Wynn chuckled and shook his head before he slammed his big and clause hand on the table, making Hary flinched a little.

"I told you already, I'm not the one who killed that girl." He said as his gaze followed the middle-aged big bearded man taking steps towards him. The anxiety and confusion swept away for a while as the man smiled and reveal his yellowish teeth. Hary is mad at him because he keeps on insisting that the boy did that even there's no more evidence than the knife found near the car's backseat.

"Then why are you sleeping inside of that car?" He mockingly asked him.

"Because I'm groggy that time!" Hary cried.

The officer smirked before he pulled the chair and sit on it.

"For a fifteen-year-old, you already drink alcoholic beverages. We also found out that the car is yours, is that true?" That question caught the boy off guard. The handcuff's chain rattled as the boy moved his hands.

All of his anger fades and got replaced again by confusion with frustration this time.

"Y-Yeah. That car is mine. My oldest brother gave that to me." He mumbles while his gaze cast down at the cold and metal table, staring at his reflection. He probably won't know what to do. His family might be mad and might disown him. Hary feels the pain inside him as if his heart got pricked by a needle, making him heave a shaky breath.

"Then why Ms. Summers is inside of your car?" Hary shook his head in frustration. The chains rattled once again as he grips on his hair.

"I-I don't know why she's inside!" He screamed in frustration while his tears that he's trying to hold streamed down to his cheeks.

"I'm just sleeping that time! I didn't feel anything or what! I don't know why that girl is inside!" He stood up from his seat then sprinted towards the officer who's seating on the other edge of the table before he pounced at him surprisingly. Hary grabbed his collar and the two police who's quietly standing in the shadows, observing while staying alert if Hary has done violent actions rush towards them and tried to pull Hary away from the police officer.

"Can you proved that I did that?! Do you have any evidence?!" Hary screamed while his tears didn't stop from falling. His grip gets tightened on Mr. Wynn's collar as the first cop pulled him away, making Mr. Wynn got strangled and almost passed out.

"Don't touch me!" He yelled.

"I'm a killer right?! Then I'll play as a killer!" He added before laughed while giving the officer a menacing look. Mr. Wynn knows that he'll pass out if he just let the boy so tried to remove the blonde boy's grasp on his collar too even it is difficult for him to move more. They're probably panicking too when the blonde boy started to berserk. There's no reason to panic, yet, the boy in front of them probably made one.

Three-person entered the room and left speechless after witnessing the current scenario. The cop who's trying to pull Hary away from Mr. Wynn pulled the taser into his pocket and tasered him, making Hary let go of Mr. Wynn and fell on his knees before he passed out. One of the three-person immediately went to the unconscious boy lying on the floor.

"I'm this boy's guardian." The man wearing formal black buttoned long sleeves and a pair of black slacks gives him a superior look. The cops who accompanied the man carry the blonde boy outside, after the three are out of sight, the man averted his gaze at Mr. Wynn who's trying to catch his breath while his hand is clutching his chest. The man's piercing look is enough to make the cops went nervous while trying to be formal in front of him.

"Let's settle this, shall we?"

"I don't know either why they bowed at her that day. That's a living mystery until today.

It haunts us." Hary said before he placed his hands on his lap.

"No one talks to me since I never talk to anyone after that and I thought Trance will get together with them but I was wrong. She speaks to me and told me that don't blame myself too much. The first time that I went to her home is the time that we got paired because of the historical research. Her grandma is so sweet. She even gave me a box of mochi before I came back home." The boy smiled as he started reminiscing those old memories. He placed his left arm on his desk before he looked around and leaned closer to the three boys as if he's going to whisper something on them.

"Trance once told her story to me but I bet that's just a fragment. The story that she told me is like a single piece of a puzzle. She's enigmatic. Just like a glacier floating in the ocean that you thought small because you saw just the upper part but unexpectedly huge when you take a look underwater.

The shallow water is true here and the glacier is just the one who we have seen and we're tagging along with. You get what I mean?"

"Yeah," Bryle replied.

"Then what's the reason why you ended up here?" Samuel asked him as if he's a child who's excited to hear his grandparent's stories during their childhood. Hary's joyful and radiant expression got replaced by a solemn one but his smile remains. He knows they know that the smile of his will never conceals his real feelings.

"Long story short, they probably blamed the wrong one," Hary said in a gloomy tone. Khiel tapped his shoulder but he gave him a middle finger instead.

"Wait! I thought they're investigating your case?" Hary raised a brow at the boy seating beside him. Samuel, Hiro, and Haru are listening to them while waiting for their new story.

"They stopped because they can't found any evidence to prove my innocence."

"The innocence of everyone can be easily tainted. It's like a blank canvas and a charcoal pencil, once you drew a line and you found a small curve on it then erased it, the charcoal smudge will remain." Samuel said, making Hary heave a sigh.

"He means that; in everyone's eyes, they still accusing you even you proved them that you haven't done such a thing. That's the society." Hiro added before he tapped his finger at his desk.

"If I only don't sleep that day."

"Hey, hey, calm down. We're not pinpointing you. Tell us what happened." Samuel said in a panic tone after he saw Hary's gloomy expression. Harry fiddled with his fingers before he looked at the three of them.

"You're gloomy because?" Bryle asked him like he's a talk show host who speaks English blended with Filipino words on a sentence. After they watched that talk show, the two can't move on by the word 'because' and laughs every time they heard that word. Hary looked at Bryle before he shreds his fake tear away.

"Because I'm sad." He replied before doing the same thing again. Bryle dramatically tapped his shoulder while the blonde boy falsely sobs.

"You're sad because?" This time, Hary burst into tears while laughing hysterically at Bryle's way of asking him. He nudges his shoulder. His face turned red and his lashes got soaked by his tears. He motioned Samuel to wait before he burst out laughing again.

"You're laughing like a retard seal because?" Khiel just gives the three boys a lopsided smile, indicating that he's done with his two friend's hoax and being crackheads. Even his mouth didn't open his facial expression speaks out for him that: 'I don't know them.'

"Stop that d*mn it." He wipes his tears away before he looked at Bryle and starts laughing again.

"Stop it because?" Bryle, this time can't stop himself from venting out a laugh. Even Hiro and Samuel snickered as they heard Hary's weird laugh.

"Are you sure that he's okay?" Hiro asked Khiel before he covers his mouth, trying not to snicker again. Khiel clamped his eyes shut when Hary slapped his shoulder.

Yen and Shin are looking at them in full of confusion. Shin tapped his brother's shoulder before he twirled his index finger beside his head, motioning that the blonde boy started to loosen up his screws. Yen nodded his head before he stared down at Hary as if the blonde gone insane.

"I don't know him, what about you Yen? Shin?" Khiel asked the two who's seating not far from them.

"We don't know him either," Shin replied.

"I don't know that the female smurf changes her gender," Yen added. Khiel looked at the three boys with 'see?-they-don't-know-him-too' face. Both Bryle and Shin stopped after they found out that Haru is staring at them. There's no judgment held on his look, just a plain look but that's enough to make both of them intimidated and look away as if nothing embarrassing happens.

"So that's normal for him," Samuel commented.

"Thousand times normal than you, Sam. You even put a slide on your three-story apartment's rooftop before you slide on it. You failed from that stunt as far as I remember." Hiro said as he crossed his arms on his chest.

"Well, I'm drunk that time. Aside from that

It's a sui-slide. But I don't think it's suicide since I fell on the water---"

"Wow, I think plenty of water is wasted because of that. You're wasting the drinkable water like how you get wasted from drinking a single can of beer." Hiro cut him off with his sarcastic words. Samuel gives him a questionable look but he just pointed his twin on the other side who's staring at him.

"I'm not the one, okay?" Hiro innocently said while throwing his hands in the air and laughed awkwardly.

"How sweet of you, Haru." Samuel sarcastically verbalized as he rolls his eyes in a sassy way. Instead of speaking up to fight the older one's sass he just ignored him and leaned his forehead at his crossed arms.

"You're sassy like my brother's crush." Hary utter while Samuel throws a death glare at him before he heaves a problematic sigh and leaned at the chair's backrest.

"Yep, he's sassy. You can think of him as a gay." Hiro sneers annoyed the older boy more but instead of feeling the annoyance boiled inside him, Samuel flustered as he glared at him and clutched his paper.

"H-Hey! I'm not a gay." He smacked Hiro's head, making the raven-haired laughed. Samuel is about to hit him again but he grabbed his book and made it as his shield. The older one rolled his eyes at him in a sassy way again before he faced the three boys.

"Ignore that, I want to hear your reason why you ended up here." Harry averted his gaze at him before he pointed himself. The older one nodded.

"Like what I've said, they blamed the wrong person. The words 'I want to go home' and 'I'm sleepy' are the last time that I've said before everything happens." Samuel stared at him for a while, making Hary tensed up.

"You know? We don't consider friendships but you three seem fun." He said before giving Hary a smug face.

"Wanna have some fun?" Samuel invited the three boys in front of him. Khiel and Bryle looked at him while Hary smiled and nod like a naive idiot.

"But before that, prepare yourselves for being tasered later."

"What the f*ck?" Hiro said while watching Samuel, Bryle, and Hary having a race using swivel chairs that they found on the vacant room next to theirs.

"Yeah, I probably don't know them." Khiel agreed while staring at the three boys. On their way back, Hary falls on the floor while his foot is left hanging on the swivel chair.

"You're so stupid Hary!" Khiel laughed at his friend. Hiro can't help but laugh too while Samuel and Bryle helped him to stand up while trying not to snicker.

"F*ck you Khiel!" Hary yelled when he finally stood up.

"Thank you!" He retorted before laughing together with Hiro again. The blonde boy raised his middle finger at him before riding the swivel chair again.

"I bet one of the----AHAHAHAHA!" Hiro almost teared up when he saw Samuel riding the swivel chair while standing and screams when he founds out that he can't stop the chair's movement so he hit his body on the top of the door and landed on the ground on his arm first.

"Are you okay?" Bryle asked Samuel, instead of a pained expression, he smiled and laughed.

"That's unexpected."

"Nice kill! HAHAHAHA!" Khiel almost bows because of his uncontrollable laugh. They both looked away while trying their best to stop their laughter.

"I...I.." Khiel gulped before clamping his eyes shut.

"Idiots." Hiro took deep breaths before looking at Khiel. The laugh that they're trying to stop finally vent out again.

"What's your name again?" Hiro asked the boy beside him.

"What the heck? It's almost a month when we become friends and you just forget my name?" Khiel's expression turned sour.

"Because I always forget your names. That's why sometimes I called you in random names, James."

"I'm Khiel Dimitri for Pete's sake."
