9 Death comes in a color?

Mia was no idiot she knew that without her mother's permission Ash would never have the audacity to put a tracker in the phone.

She felt a little giddy inside knowing that despite her fierce argument with her mom, her mom still cared for her.

Oliver observed the young girl beside him and her changing countenance. He knew it was not in his ask why she was running away so even though his curiosity was eating him. He opened his mouth to ask.

"We will be there in five minutes" he said instead.

"Thanks Oliver"

Mia suddenly remembered something. "Um... Oliver?"

"Yes?" Oliver asked pulling up in the big parking space.

"Well I'm going to stand out with...you know...my hair.." she touched her hair.

"So...do you want to cut it?" he asked looking at her hair that only stopped at her shoulders.

"What?!" she shrieked. "Of course not" she rolled her blue eyes.

Then she peered at the few shops around. "Do you perhaps think I can dye?"

"Die?? You want to die" Oliver asked a little confused.

"Yup. I think black will be a good color on me. Or do you think I should go with brown? You know...so I'll be unique and stand out" she said oblivious to the dumb look on Oliver's face.

"Wait, death comes in a color?" Oliver asked not able to take it any longer.

"Death?"

"Yah you..you just said that you wanted to die"

"You dimwit" she smacked his head.

"Ow what was that for?" he rubbed his head with a sad pout.

"THAT was for being a complete idiot and thinking that I wanted to die. I meant I wanted to dee wai ee my hair. Dye. As in hair dye"

"Oh"

"Ohhhhh, how did you even come far in hacking if you can be this clueless, hm?"

"I have skills okay?" he puffed his chest.

"Skills?"

"Uh huh". His voice dropped few notches, "I could even show you some" he licked his lips suggestively.

"Uh hold up mister. I'm still Mia Martin remember?"

"So?...What does that have to do with me?...and my skills"

"It very simply means that if you even dared to breathe in a way that I don't like I will make life hell for you" she mirked then crossed her slim legs. "Surely you understand?" she batted her lashes at him "yes?"

Oliver looked at her incredulously. What's up with this 'wronged expression'?

Presently Mia looked as if even though she didn't waant to lift a finger she had thousands who'd chop heads for her.

Suddenly Oliver felt choked with the overbearing pressure around his neck. *cough cough* "What's wrong with showing you my cooking skills?" he said instead of the naughty thing that was still playing in his mind causing his fair cheeks to have color in them.

"Better stick to cooking Oliver. Now here's some money for the dye" Mia said stuffing some cash into his hands.

"I'll be right back"

"Do you think we'll be in time for the train?" Mia asked worriedly.

Oliver smiled and ruffled her hair. "Don't worry Cookie you'll become a doctor"

His words made her smile brightly. No one had ever said that to her—telling her not to worry that she'll achieve her dream.

He left the car and came back ten minutes later. From the way he was panting Mia could tell that he ran all the way.

"Did you get it?"

"Yep". He stared at the package, reading the instructions. "It says here that your hair will be brown after fifteen minutes. There's a cheap motel up front" he gestured with his chin towards the place. "Let's go we should be back ten minutes before the train starts"

"Okay" Mia had been nodding and immediately they both hopped out of the car and dashed towards the motel like their life depended on it.

They got there and booked a room. The lady there had stared at Oliver long enough for Mia to see the flames of desire burning in her eyes.

After collecting the keys. Mia had kissed Oliver's cheeks and whispered in his ears, "we're going to have some much fun tonight"

Oliver was confused but as a man his body reacted to that kind of intimacy. He struggled to keep a straight face and took Mia's hand as they walked to their assigned room.

Halfway there Mia turned back to the lady and stuck out her tongue at her. The lady made monkey ears with her hands but her hands froze and her cheeks soon grew red when she saw a pair of handsome men walk into the motel.

Mia laughed loud and walked away. The moment she and Oliver got into their assigned room, he flew to the bathroom.

Mia shook her head and set to work. She kept glancing at the watch she had placed on the vanity table.

BEEP BEEP

She immediately saw it was fifteen minutes already. Clicking her tongue she decided to give herself two more minutes before removing the towel that was wrapped tightly around her head.

"We don't have the luxury of time. Sooner or later you'll have to take it off" Oliver said while flipping through the news on his phone.

"You're right" she sighed her deepest then closed her eyes and yanked the towel from her head.

She felt her soft hair fall on her face. She sniffed. It didn't smell bad. She heard Oliver gasp behind her.

"Is it bad? Did it turn out the wrong way?" she fidgetted, her resolve to not open her eyes strengthening.

"Who are you? And where is Mia Martin?" she heard him ask with a mocking voice.

She opened one eye very slowly. But what she saw made her open the other.
