Jacob Evans

Jacob awoke to his cat licking his face sweetly.

"Morning, Chip…" he yawned and sat up, giving Chip a morning pat before getting out of bed to go to the bathroom. After he washed his hands and brushed his teeth he went downstairs to feed himself and his cat. His cat got the usual- (cat food) and he ate a fried egg on toast. His small grey cat rubbed up against his leg like she always did. Then Jacob got ready for work. This is usually how every morning went, and he was content with it. He had a good life… had…

On his drive to work, he listened to his favorite songs and sang along with a smile. Jacob arrived and pulled into the parking lot. He grabbed his belongings and walked in, greeting the pretty receptionist he had liked for a while, and his hot co-worker named Peter who worked in the booth next to him. He was pretty openly bisexual and wasn't ashamed at all.

The day went by as normal, he answered calls, and eventually, the day came to an end. He collected his things and started heading out when his hot co-worker from the booth next to him tapped his shoulder.

"Hey, Jacob! Uh… So I just wanted to invite you to a BBQ that I'm having on Sunday. It's just a little birthday party for me I guess, my birthday is on Monday," Peter had a small smile on his face, and it made Jacob blush a little. This also reminded Jacob that it was Friday; Finally, the weekend.

"Oh, that seems fun! I'd love to go," Jacob was trying to hold back his inner dork.

"Cool! Cool… well here's my number," He elongated the "R" as he wrote down his number on a small piece of paper with the purple pen he had behind his ear. "Well, I gotta go! I'll text you more details later," Peter handed him the piece of paper, then waved and walked down the hall. Jacob stood there in awe since they had barely talked and he had had a crush on him for so long. When he walked out that door he had the biggest, dorkiest, and the brightest smile on his face. Jacob drove home that day singing to his favorite songs even louder than he had than he had that morning. His home then welcomed him with an eerie expression seeping out. He didn't know why his own home made him uncomfortable but he excused the feeling and got out of his car. He approached his door and got out his keys to unlock it but the door was already open by a crack. With furrowed eyebrows, he pushed the door open and a rotting smell filled his nostrils.

"Awgh- What the fuck?" he exclaimed aloud. He set his stuff down inside and started looking around. Weirdly enough, his cat hadn't greeted him a warm welcome from work. "Chip! Where are you?" Jacob called, his cat would usually prance up to him but there was no response. As he walked into the living room he noticed the smell got stronger. The room was dark since his blinds were closed and the lights were off, but as he looked to the coffee table in the middle of the room he noticed a weird blob. "What is that…?"

He reached for the light switch and turned the light on. He took a deep breath before looking back at the coffee table, to witness his cat lay there with a pool of blood surrounding her. Her stomach had been stabbed in more places than one on her stomach.

"O-Oh my god! Jesus Christ!" He rushed over and went to touch Chip but then covered his mouth instead. In the corner of his eye, he noticed something on the wall, so he looked up to a blood written message, his heart dropped...
