The novel depicts the story of a teenage girl running a long race to meet the so-called social standards of the sickening elite class. The knots of time unfold the hollowness and voidness of her relationships. In this dark field of life, the only shoulder she has to lean on is her best friend's. When she finally gets a sigh of relief in this long and tiring race, her egoistic fiancé, who is also entangled in the dark side of upper-class hustles, adds to her misery. Her best friend becomes her shield, saving her from the harshness of life, and for this purpose, she allies with her fiancé's opponent. The fierce confrontation of law and power, love and morals, and power games is the main plot of attraction.In this dark and scary street of life, the chirping of the untamed bird of love adds vibrant colors to their unadorned lives but, at the same time, demands painful trials of love.
As the blanket of darkness draped all around Izmir with full moon gleaming with delight far away in the sky. The city was quite and hushed in the late hours of night.
And there was she, in the middle of the ocean staring at the vast sky where the moon appeared as a heavenly body. The calm waves of ocean were breaking the code of silence decently. Her face was shining with dried tears , she had very tranquil and serene expressions . At this time she desperately longed for this to be truth . She direly wanted her soul to be as quite and calm. She just wanted to get rid of all those traces, marks and ways that led her to her past. But she didn't knew that some memories never leave your bones; like salt in the sea. They become part of you and you carry them.
Especially today's date, 6th of Feb, always impelled her to look back at her exhausting journey .The scars of her soul never let her forget.
Years ago,
18 year old Aina was struggling hard to breath, her body was shaking and she was continuously trying to say something in trembling broken words. " I….I ammm....mm....dddisgusting....I….I…alwaysss…. destroy ....everything. I can never d…d..doooo….. anything perfectly .
Raha? ....why am i not pretty?...… why?... you can not understand i have to be pretty i have to bee? "
Raha looked dismally and sadly at that pretty girl with jet black almond eyes , long thick hair with a combo shade of black and brown, cheeks with a natural blush. She held her hand and tried to comfort her.
"Aina , darling why are you doing this to you? you are very pretty my girl. You are the most lovely person inside and out I have ever met."
"Only you think so.. Rooh I try my best to make her happy but I always mess it up. I promise Rooh, I talked to him at yesterday's party as she told me to do so. I was with him the whole time. I I was trying to make him happy. I..I didn't want to create all that drama but I couldn't tolerate anymore he was trying to touch me again and again and then…nn…"
Aina began to sob badly, her breath once again hitched and she stuttered .
"And then what Aina? Tell me what happened? Then what?"
Raha ,who was looking at her in disbelief and shock, was trying to understand the situation . She really didn't wanted it to be true what she was thinking.
"Then, then he took me too to th the room….. Rooh...I ..I …. I … couldn't take it anymore. I pushed him and ran out. Everybody was there. I embarrassed her once again in front of everyone. She is right i can't fit in our social circle. i can not."
Raha was still shocked , the woman whom Aina was talking about was her mother, though step mother but still she is the one who raised her up. How can a women not understand another's situation? She always wanted to see aina with shahmeer sikandar, son of their business partner and the business tycon meer sikandar. But what she did yesterday was just unacceptable.
" Hey Aina listen ! you did exactly what you should have to. You have not done anything wrong. And Aina, please stop making her happy, she really doesn't deserve your efforts."
Raha wiped her tears and held her face,
" And you know what , I am proud of you babez, keep one thing in your mind you are perfect and You ! don't have to satisfy others.You have to live for yourself now plz i want to see your beautiful smile please…. please…. please."
Raha said in a very overdramatic tone and aina couldn't control her laughter. her smile was very pretty though sad at the same time.
"Ooooooo shit man we missed the class,"
Aina shouted. 'fuck dude not again, professor will eat us alive."
"Last but not least , we will be roasted together , so that doesn't seem that much boring."Raha said carelessly.
Aina was looking at her in disbelief.
They both were childhood friends. They had always shared their tears,laughters,happiness,sadness everything. They were home to each other.
Aina Durani belonged to the elite class family of Lahore , being the daughter of Mr&Mrs Shanawaz Durani. While Raha was from upper middle class but very well educated family. Her father was senior government officer.
