3 Book

Why would he even have to care about the opinions of other people whom he had never met before? He is anyway sure that he would not meet them again anyway.

He is just a passerby in the lives of everyone and he would stay the same too.

Horace looked at his right hand. Especially his fingers. They make him move the time back by ten seconds.

Is it called chronokinesis? Pfft. How could going back the time by a mere ten seconds equal to the power of manipulating the time?

Well, it could not be said to be totally useless either. He could rectify a few minute mistakes of his that he committed just a few seconds earlier.

The question is who would want to rectify something immediately within ten seconds after they had done it? Even to realize the mistake they had made, one needs to think about it for more than ten seconds.

When would one get the time to realize the mistake they had made and decided to rectify and snap the fingers? All these series of actions have to be done within the time of TEN WHOLE SECONDS including the time of the mistake one made.

It is really a very long time. Tsk, even the sarcasm is feeling sad for using it to show such a cheap feeling of his.

Is this really a power that he got? In contrast Horace thinks that it is a curse.

Yes, a curse.

A curse that never leaves him.

A curse that makes him think he may save a person but when he fails he would be the most disappointed.

A curse that makes him want to do many good deeds but in the end he fails to do more than half of them.

A curse that brings nothing but disappointment and self reproach to him.

As time went by he started thinking everything practically. Now he doesn't want any friends or any merits from other people.

He would save a person if he thinks that he definitely can and he ignores if the possibility is anywhere near to zero.

No more attachments and no more hurting himself for others. That is the life that Horace started living.

As he thought about all these, he once again forgot about the contempt that he received from a woman today as he reached his final destination.

Once at the entrance, he raised his head to look at the tallest and the grandest building in the country. Which other building would be grander than the once royal palace?

The once Royal Palace was now turned into a library providing every single variety of book that one could search for. A book that one could not find in the entire world could also be found in this building.

In such a prestigious Library, Horace is a Librarian during night shift.

Yes, a night shift. Any other Library may be closed in the evenings or in the dark. But this Library is open during all the times always saying welcome to the book lovers.

Though the visitor count during the night is comparatively very less from that of the morning, the Library was still always open for avid readers.

Whenever Horace entered the library, he couldn't help but glance at the entire building once. It's structure and the grandeur that it displayed could never be seen anywhere else. He was never bored of looking at it even after coming here day after day for so many years.

He then stepped forward into the building and signed the register to add his entry timings and went around the library.

He passed through many rows of books while looking around. The numerous books would make any person want to take one out immediately to read. That person is not constricted to being a book lover alone. Even the people who would hate reading would want to take a glance at them and peek through to find what is inside them.

Just the display is enough to make the readers go more crazy to reading more books. But Horace did not touch any single book as he moved forward, uninterested in everything that he took a glance at.

As he advanced further, he again stopped at a spot where he would subconsciously stop every single day. It is not that he is interested in anything in this spot.

Even if he wanted to move onwards, his subconscious mind would not allow him to do so as his body freezes in that exact spot while turning his head towards a book placed in the row that was a head above his height.

He took a glance at the book on which his eyes strained on without his permission. It once again glowed, just like the usual.

Horace started getting irritated by this daily routine as he doesn't want to go through this same pattern again and again but his body never follows his orders when it comes to this glowing book.
