10 Chapter 10 : Promise

'Here comes our male lead.'

Alistair was looking at the floor while fidgeting with his hand, he looked like he didn't know how to start the conversation.He was three years older than Sylvia.

Even at such a young age he was very handsome but sweet and cute at the same time. Seeing the boy with such a nervous and cute expression, Sylvia felt the urge to pinch his cheeks.

'Seems like I have to start the conversation myself.'

"Uh...you..are?"

Alistair didn't know what to say, he couldn't introduce himself as her brother as she never considered him one.

"Are you my brother?"

Alistair got surprised by the bright voice.As he looked at her, she had a lovely smile.She swiftly came close to him and clasped his hand and with a lively and cheerful voice continued on.

"You have the same eye and hair color as mine and you look like Papa's smaller version. Are you my brother?"

It was the first time Sylvia had ever talked to him so brightly.Alistair was surprised to see her, it was as if she was a different person.He barely managed to pull out his voice.

"Did you...Did you really lose your memories?"

Earlier when he came to meet her, he saw the emperor in Sylvia's room.He was heading back thinking he should visit later when he heard Sylvia telling the doctor that she doesn't remember anything.

"Uh-huh,it's true that I don't remember anything"

"...."

'Ugh.Why isn't he saying anything.'

"What is your name?"

"....my name is Alistair. Alistair Lewellyn De Aureate."

"Are you not my brother?"Sylvia looked at him with puppy eyes.

"You hate me."

'Heh?'

"You hate me because I am not your brother."

"Uh.. but I don't hate you."

"It's because you don't remember anything.You hated me.You told me not to talk to you and my face brings you badluck."Alistair said with teary eyes.

'Oii oii,is he really the kid who's gonna be the cold blooded demon in the future.'

Sylvia felt troubled thinking how she should make the kid in front of her believe that the cold Sylvia is no more.

"I'm sorry."

"Huh? Why?"

"You told me to stay out of your sight but I was worried and felt sorry that I couldn't help you when you fell so..I'm sorry."

Alistair kept on looking at the floor, Sylvia felt sorry for him as he didn't do anything wrong.She was the one who said mean things to him as she didn't know the true story.

'Well the novel was filled with misunderstandings.'

Sylvia held his hands tightly "It wasn't your fault,I fell down while riding my horse.How is it your fault?"

"I was at the same place."

'Man...this kid.He was so far how could he help me.It isn't like he could do anything even if he was near me.He is just a kid!' Sylvia sighed internally.

"Nothing was your fault. It seems like I was very rude to you. I'm really very sorry."

Alistair was surprised by her sudden apology,he tried to deny it but not giving him any chance to speak Sylvia continued on.

"Will you forgive me?"

"....."

"Will you not?"

Sylvia made very sad and teary expression and looked at the floor.Alistair was startled seeing her like that.

"No! It's not like that!.....it's just that what if you start hating me when your memories comes back?"

'Oh! So you're worrying about that huh. It'll never come back though.'

But Sylvia started thinking if one day she should say that her memories are back but she doesn't hate him to make him relieved.'I should take it into consideration.'

Sylvia put out her pinky finger with a beaming smile "I promise that even if I get my memories back you will always be my brother and I will never ever hate you."

After hearing that Alistair eyes was filled with tears.He quickly rubbed his eyes with his sleeves and gave a lovely smile.He put out his pinky finger and locked it with Sylvia's.

"From today onwards no telling that you are not my own brother.Okay?"

"Yes!" Both of them smiled happily.

'Awe,he's so cute.' Just then an idea popped up on her mind.

"Brother since your name is Alistair Lewellyn, can I call you Brother Lynn?"

"Yes, of course! And since your name is Sylvia... how about Ciel?

"Yes! I love it brother Lynn!"

"Me too Ciel!"

Both of them started giggling happily while holding each other's hand.

In addition to the both of them, Yurial who was listening to their conversation from the very beginning from outside felt relieved and unconditionally happy.
