His Real Intention

Inside the private plane, Dylan was going through some papers that his friend gave to him before he boarded the plane. It's been one hour he's been trying to read the papers but somehow his mind keep on seeing the forlorn look that Lyla gave to him when he said he'll only be there for few hours. He didn't plan to see her while stopping at city K due to the important papers that he needed from his friend. But after listening Jake's report, he decided to see her for a little while. Just for the sake of reminding her that she still have a husband. What he didn't expect was seeing her flirting with some receptionist in the middle of the streets where there's people passing by. He even gave warning to Jake who's been avoiding his fierce gaze. He knew it wasn't the first time she's doing it. And he hated it when she tried to move away from him which is why he pulled her close but didn't expect his strength is too great, made her lap onto his lap. Just perfectly. Her every reaction and her unique eyes, during that short hours he spend with her, somehow her image seem to be embedded inside his. He didn't like that bit at all.

He try once more reading the so-called-important-paper but failed once again. Feeling frustrated, he slam the paper onto the table and pulled his necktie loosely. However he stop when he remembered how she played with his tie. In the end he close his eyes trying to get rid everything that seems to be bothering him. It's not the first time they met. But why is it today is different? Was it the way she dress? Or the fact that she dress up beautifully for other people to leer at her? She was his. And it's only right for him to feel this way. Or was it the fear that he felt when he saw her flirting with some other people rather than him even though it's the same gender? He really couldn't answer all this trivial question. He has other matters that need to be solved. And that includes his family. His family, until this day didn't know he got married a year ago.

And he too didn't expect he's still married to her after a year. He only planned to stay married for only six months. It was only just so he could take the land that he's been aiming for. A lot of representatives from his company have tried to negotiate with her but only to be chased away with a broom or thrown out. Getting annoyed by the constant rejection, he decided to take some action. Sitting inside her small restaurant on the land that he's been eyeing for somehow made him feel relax. Forgetting his own real purpose and just letting himself to be in his own world. Her restaurant is not like any of the high class or exclusive restaurant that he usually went but the interior where it lets you see the natural surrounding somehow made you forgets you're in the busy city. The open window lets you hear the sound of waves crashing onto the rocks and the trees that act like a shade when the sun is high up. Added to that, the excellent food that's been served. It just feels rather relaxing. After he's done eating he just sits there, somehow twirling with a ring that he actually bought for his fiancee, Catherine Drew. One of the elite member and has been doing a lot of business collaboration together. And that includes tying the knot between him and Catherine. He agreed to it because she's the only women that he can tolerate with. They've been engaged for almost four years now. And his family are already ushering him to get married. So, he bought the ring on the way just so he could avoid himself getting nagged from his parent and his fiancee. But somehow, he just feels something is just not right. The ring looks nice but when he thought of Catherine would be the one wearing it, his heart just doesn't seem to like it. It really doesn't suit her. When Lyla came over and put another drink in front of him and sits herself there, he was surprised. He just realize they were about to close but still doesn't have any intention to move. A couple of hours pass. Just him and her alone. His coffee has long finished and he just sits there watching her, frowning, mumbling whenever she's stuck and diligently finishing her work. Until she lifted her head only to be mesmerize by her stunning unique eyes. Without giving any second thought, he propose her. Or more like, she doesn't have any choice to reject him. He thought it was for the land that he wanted. But to this day, he still haven't brought up anything about the land because he like seeing her there. Working in her small restaurant and with all the smile on her face. For all the three times he met her, it was always inside the restaurant. And she would personally serve and cooked for him. It was only for a couple of hours before he had to leave again. She never complaint about anything even the odd marriage that they have. It was more like, she just accept everything and forgive him when he's not around. Today, seeing her again after a couple of months really made him feel at ease.

"Sir, Ms. Catherine called just to inform you about tonight's dinner. She mentioned that you must be present during that dinner. It's too announced your wedding date which your parent and her parent decided on." Ron, Dylan's P.A inform him the call that he received when they were about to board the plane. Not long after he told Dylan about it, the atmosphere suddenly turns chilly and heavy.

"What gave them the right to decide it on my behalf?" Dylan's icy voice made the P.A becomes scared.

"Call them, i'm not attending and there will be no wedding. I'm calling off the engagement." He decided. He's not going to be his family's puppet any longer. He will take charge his own life. Meeting Lyla today made him yearn to be beside her all the time. Before he could do that, he needed to settle everything that need to do.

Writing is fun. It's been a long time i've been wanting to write a story and share it to others without going through so much procedures and such. So, enjoy. Please drop a comment or even says hi to me in the comment section so at least i'll know you're not a robot. Kekekeke
