Greater power for the greedy

"Are we just going to let Dylan do whatever he wants? Who will inherit our company if he doesn't want to do what we planned for him? And now that he's married we can't keep the engagement going any longer. Sooner or later people will know." At this moment, the living room in a certain mansion are occupied by Dylan's grandparent and his parent. The one who spoke up is Dylan's father, Mr. Wright Jr. When he received word that Dylan got married for almost two years, he was angry. Frustrated by how his son started to rebel so suddenly to the extent Dylan doesn't care about his inheritance any longer. He even resigned his post as the CEO of their family's company making him taking over when he should have been staying at home and enjoying his life as a free man as he let Dylan handle everything. Now that Dylan has gone, he had to stepped up.

"They also mention that his wife is pregnant at the moment. That's good news." Dylan's mother butt in. Her only focus is getting their own grandchild. She was unhappy when she heard of Dylan's marriage but when she heard Dylan's wife is pregnant, she was excited. She become so eager to meet the person who become Dylan's wife and if possible she wanted them to leave in this huge mansion so she can take care of their grandchild properly.

"I won't accept anyone else to be my daughter in law aside from Catherine. We don't know what type of woman that Dylan marry to. Who knows that woman is someone who is not on the same level as we do. We are the Wright's family. The most influential people in the city. Everyone knows who we are and treated us with respect. And the only person who can hold onto our family's name would be Catherine since she's one of us." Mr. Wright Jr. made his point. Although he's also happy hearing he will be a grandfather but he's still concern about his family's good name.

"No matter what we say, Dylan has left us. He's living his own life as we speak. We can't change anything. We should just accept Dylan's choice. He's your son. You should know him better than anyone else. The person that he chose as his wife is probably even greater than Catherine's family." This time it was Mr Wright, Dylan's grandfather himself spoke. Looking tired due to the company's situation. Even though right now, his son is handling it but he knew several problems occur that are severe enough even his son couldn't handle. Some investor even back out because they trusted his grandson's way of handling the company.

"Who else would be better aside from Catherine? She's the daughter of Drew. The only Drew family that are in close contact with the great Lyon family. With their influence and the merging between the two families, who knows we can attract the great Lyon family and become their business partner. Having their name associate with us would make our family more respected in the future." The only reason Mr. Wright Jr insist on the engagement between Dylan and Catherine mainly because he heard from Catherine herself that they have been invited to one of the great Lyon's party before and saw the actual person themselves. He wanted that chance to meet the mysterious person from the Lyon's family because they are among one of the noble in the whole world. Everywhere they go, others would flee when they heard of the Lyons. It is said that they are part of the royal family. No one really knew where they come from and it is so hard to see them in person especially the head of the family. Being able to receive invitation to one of their party is a great thing and would easily boost up their name. The kind of power behind the Lyon is greater than anyone can imagine. Which is why Mr. Wright Jr insist on marrying Dylan to Catherine. Who knows one day they too will have a chance on meeting the Lyon's family. But what Catherine didn't tell Mr. Wright Jr is they were unable to meet the Lyon's family and never knew how they look like. She only said it just so she can make Mr. Wright Jr fall into her trap. Others who were listening seem to fallen into Catherine's trap as well when they start having doubts about Dylan's wife. What can Dylan's wife bring into the family is she's just a commoner?

"But Dylan's already married to her. We can't do anything about it. We don't even know where he is. All the information about him came nothing. We only know he's married and his wife is pregnant. It's like he only letting this info slip up only to make us know about his situation." Dylan's mother, Madeline was wringing her hands hoping to ease her turmoil heart. She's in dilemma. Although their situation is great but as it seem in this family what they have is never enough. They wanted more power just so they can live their life easily just like the Lyon's family. Probably the most important thing at the moment is not her grandchild but to gain more than to be able to live comfortably for the next 7 generation. What she forgot to notice, without her son there's no next generation unless she decided to give Dylan a new sibling at such age.

"You don't have to worry about that. I'll find some way to bring him back. I want to see how long he will be able to live without money and supporting his family. One day he will leave his wife and come back to us. He won't survive in the hardship since we've been pampering him with such wealth when he was a baby. And when he comes back, he will listen to us and marry Catherine." Mr. Wright Jr spoke like he knew his son better than anyone else. But he forgot one thing, his son has always been rebellious and anything that he does is from his own power. Somehow, even parent aren't able to recognize their own children.
