After Dungeon Care

As soon as I sat down another attendant entered from the opposite side of the room to offer me a coffee or tea. It was definitely different from what I had experienced from the association thus far. Were the materials I showed the employee before that valuable still?

"First off, the association would like to thank you for your continued pursuit in the dungeons. We see you have logged over 100 hours in the dungeon." The attendant sitting across from me was reading from a tablet in his lap.

"Oh, I see this is your first time in the lounge. We ask that you place each item on the table, one at a time, to be appraised. Then at the end we will total everything and you may cash out or browse what is being sold currently. We have managed to acquire quite a few crafters recently so you are sure to find something interesting." The attendant smiled at me and gestured for me to place the first item on the tray before me.

I placed a piece of the shell that I got from the large crab. It was obvious that I didn't get it from the Silver City dungeon, but the attendant did not look surprised. Either the association knew about the teleport function in the dungeon or they were trained enough not to ask questions.

The attendant picked up the tablet and began scanning the material on the tray. It always amazed me how fast technology had already developed this time around. The association cards, housing, and now the goods lounge. It was like they made a few years of progress overnight.

As soon as the attendant finished scanning the piece the tray lowered itself into the table and disappeared before another identical tray showed up in its place. I held back my surprise and pulled out the next thing from my backpack. It went on like this until I pulled out the last item from my backpack, the leopard meat.

"It seems like the association was able to acquire quite a few good pieces from you Hunter Richards. Would you like to browse the shop?" The attendant had a pleasant smile on his face. He must earn a commission from what I brought in.

"Yes please." I held out my hand and the attendant pressed a few buttons on his tablet and handed it to me. My profile was pulled up and the number of points I had just traded in already appeared in my balance. I was suddenly a couple hundred thousand points richer than when I walked in.

I settled for a set of leather armor, a hardened short sword, set of hardened knives, and ten or so recovery potions. The selection wasn't all that great, but considering the dungeons were considered F rank back from my past life, it was actually impressive for this stage.

The association must have someone with the ability of appraisal. Crafting skills were not rare, but the amount of hunters who developed those skills were rare in my past life. It was like someone knew the importance of crafters in the later stage dungeons and rounded them all up.

"If you're done making purchases we will have everything delivered to your apartment in the housing building. It should be there by the time you get back. Thank you for choosing the association for your one stop destination for selling and purchasing goods." The attendant left me to myself and left through what I assumed was the staff door.

I placed the tablet down on the table and finished the tea that had been served earlier. I was so caught up in pulling out items, I had missed when the tea was served. It had a pleasant scent and soothed my dry throat. I really needed to take a long soak in the tub.

Spending the night in a dungeon was difficult even with all the camping training I did. I stretched as I got up and the pulling sensation on my arms reminded me I needed to stop by the clinic before returning to my residence.

Sighing, I left the lounge and walked back down the long hallway out into the main area of the association. The air had turned warmer when I walked out of the main entrance, back into the pseudo market area at the front of the guild.

I browsed the food stalls, but they only seemed to be selling preserved foods. It would be really nice if they had some skewered meat stalls or something out there. Nothing sounded better than a fresh hot meal right after coming out of a dungeon.

Across the street from the association a large clinic popped up after the towers appeared. People with healing skills, who did not like to join parties for the dungeon, and doctors teamed up to provide treatment for hunters for a fee. It was convenient and cheaper than going to a hospital every time. Also, it was a way for healers to make money and to afford better equipment.

Unfortunately, even in this time, not every party divided up loot evenly amongst the party members. The "whoever did the most damage should get the most money" debate. That is why so many support members and healers never had good enough gear in the later stages.

I wonder if I should recruit a healer now and raise them up so they will be able to take on the later stages. The thought sounded nice, but who would be crazy enough to follow me into a dungeon with no attack skills?

I entered the clinic and scanned my association card at the reception desk. My name popped on the screen in the corner and prompted me to walk over to a scan area. I stared down at the card in my hand and silently thanked whoever made them. The last thing I wanted to do was talk to another person.

After standing in the box like creation I waited for the scan to finish before exiting out the other side. A screen with my name asked me to enter Waiting Room A. A sign with an illuminated A was down the hall so I entered the designated room.

Lots of comfortable looking chairs lined the room and two screens on each side of the room showed the current wait time and regular TV. I settled into one of the seats and waited for my turn. It did not take long before a tone chimed and my name appeared on the screen.

I scanned my card at the door on the side of the room and the screen asked me to enter Room 2. It seemed they had already streamlined the wait times so that care could be given promptly. Room 2 looked like any other doctor's office room. No sooner had I sat down on the exam table when a man in an all white outfit entered the room with a tablet.

"Let's get these bandages off. Here is a gown for you to get changed into." He unwrapped my arms and handed me a gown to change into. "Press this button when you're done changing." He pointed to a green button near the door he entered.

I held my breath as I stripped off the padded layers I used to enter the dungeon. Leather would definitely be a better change after dealing with the blood literally fusing my skin to the fabric. The gown he gave me was light and sleeveless.

"Ok, let us get this cleaned up." The man came back with a female in what looked like a nurse's outfit. He clapped his hand and the nurse gave him a large glass bottle and gauze. It looked like she carried in a tray of implements.

"Hold out your right arm for me dear."

I begrudgingly held out my arm and looked away. It was easier for my stomach not to look at the gruesome scratches. I had more serious injuries in my last life, but nothing prepares you to see your flesh ripped up.

Burning pain caused me to jump as he pressed the soaked gauze into my wounds. "It looks like this is partially healed. I'm assuming you have a Recovery Skill?" I nodded my head.

"Basic Recovery." I muttered with clenched teeth.

"Well you're in luck because I can cast Heal on you. I just need to finish disinfecting this area and give you a shot in case you get an infection. If you can find someone with a first aid skill or healer it would be better for your future dungeon diving, but good work on at least covering up these wounds."

Even though his advice was condescending, his tone of voice made it come from a good place. Most people who had healing skills tended to have a selfless attitude. It may be a prerequisite for such a skill. Who knows how the dungeon decides one's skill set?

After switching to my other arm I felt a pinching sensation in each arm. "Heal" My arms suddenly became extremely itchy, but I endured the sensation. I looked down at my pink arms and sighed. The pain from before was gone, but my arms still felt a little hot to the touch.

"Ok, you're all set! The amount for your treatment should have already been deducted from your association card. Please don't do any strenuous activities for the rest of today and eat a good meal after this. I hope not to see you again, but we are here at the clinic if you ever need us." The man nodded to himself and the nurse and he left the room.

I slipped out of the gown and pulled on my dirty dungeon clothes to leave the clinic. I felt extremely tired. So I went straight to my apartment to take a shower and order food. Resting for the rest of the day sounded like a wonderful idea.
