1 I don't need your help.

"Another day, hoping to find a job." I mutter to myself as I approach the job listings board outside the local tavern. I look over everything posted, most of them asking to defeat monsters that would require a group of people to take down. I sigh about to give up when I notice a posting of a small goblin hoard causing problems on the outskirts of town, I reach up to the paper when I notice another hand reaching for the same listing I was.

I look over to where the hand was coming from, only to notice the hand belonged to a woman. Her hair was as red as fire, being complimented by her piercing blue eyes that puts the ocean to shame, her skin lightly tanned from years in the sun, "Excuse me miss, but I think I can handle this myself."

She looked down at me, I hadn't noticed that she was taller than I was, "If you haven't noticed, I can handle myself." She said gesturing to her sheathed sword around her waist.

I sigh, I could really use the money, but I can tell she won't give the job up easily either, "Look, there's enough of a bounty on these goblins that we can split it half-and-half. How does that sound?""

She takes a moment to think about my offer, "Okay ... on one condition." Before I get the chance to ask what she means, she speaks up again, "Don't treat me like a damsel in distress and we'll get along just fine."

I hold out my hand in hopes of a proper introduction, "I'm Draxius."

She grips my hand firmly, "Adela." She said letting go of my hand, "Let's get the job done as soon as possible." She stated heading out of town. I didn't know it then, but this wouldn't be our only adventure together, and I would soon find out what it means to fall in love with a knight.
