1 Announcement

"Mom, do we have anything to eat? or anything left? My movie is starting in a few minutes now, but Suzy ate all my chips. How could she do this to me.. I purposely bought them for this moment, my movie night.." as Lucy whined to her mother, she just could not believe that Suzy was able to find all her chips and cookies that she has hidden under her bed.

Curse you Suzy! Just you wait when mother found out you ate chips when she told you not to. Oh well, what did I expect from a glutton anyway?

Tonight is the movie night that she had painstakingly ask her father to buy the movie on OnDemand TV cable shows so that she can catch up with the latest movie. All this effort is thanks to her father who grounded her in the house for 1 whole month for skipping out extracurricular activities during school.

During this one month, her friends had bragged all over and telling her how she missed out big time for not joining their movie night together. She was pissed and felt left out whenever her friends discussed about the movie that she have not watched yet.

"What did you say? Suzy ate your chips? Again?! hah this child.. wait till I found you. " Jane said while saying it through gritted teeth.

Suzy is Lucy's youngest sister aged 10 years old and she is not allowed to eat any processed food. Overly flavored food or MSG will cause her severe rashes and swollen face. It would take at least 2 days for the rashes and swelling to died down. Since her face swelled like a pufferfish, she is allowed not to attend school for that reason. Also because of that, as smart as Suzy is, she somehow always use that reason to skip school 'legally'.

"We have an announcement to make. The US Geological Survey (USGS) has detected strong seismic movements under the Hebgen Lake that top the scale at 7.5M bigger than their previous quake in the year 1959. No casualties were reported so far as the Yellowstone National Park conduct their search and rescue team to venture along the campsite for any survivors. As the aftershock was still strong at 6.3M and 5M, the rescue team was forced to stay down and wait.

For the record, the Yellowstone National Park has stated that 700 to 3000 quakes each year that scaled around 3 to 5M were not felt in the surroundings.

These quakes or swarms were the result of movements of the hydrothermal fluids underneath the Earth's crust are a natural phenomenon of all volcanoes.

"What, another quake? the quake is quite frequent nowadays with that high magnitude." Jane said while munching on her dinner. She was frowning when she said that. Not sure whether she is irritated by the frequency of the news, or she is really worried about the quake. While Lucy, she couldn't care less about the quakes.

"Mom, we are in Hawaii. It is miles and miles away from the Yellowstone area. Relax." Lucy said while she was focusing on texting her friend about not giving out any spoilers for the movie she is going to watch at 10 pm.

"Mom, why is Dad and Mia still not at home yet? its 6.30 pm now, and they are still not here? are we going to eat first without them?" Lucy grumbles.

"Well you should eat your dinner. Don't wait for them. I have eaten mine already. Hurry up, please wash up the plates after you are done with them. I am going up to shower." As Jane walks away from the kitchen, Lucy grumbles. ' why can't we eat together. and why am I always the one who needs to do the clean-ups??'

She picked up all the empty plates, and throw it in the dishwasher. Her face was gloomy enough like she has been wronged all her life.

She thought to herself. 'Why she as a middle child have to do all the works while her sister and her younger sister always escape doing the housework. She has to wake up early to do breakfast before school, clean the house, do the dishes, and even washing the laundry.

It's not fair. '

As she grumbles to herself, Jane is worried sick on where is her youngest daughter Suzy went out too. If she had eaten all those chips like Lucy said, her allergies will have kick through by now. Any longer she might have difficulty in breathing soon. She noticed that among all the three children she has, Suzy is the one that she pampered the most.

"Suzy, come out now sweetie. Mom would not scold you if you apologize to your sister. You do know that those chips Lucy had bought it in advance for tonight movie night don't you? besides, those chips are bad for you honey. " Jane spoke out loud as she ventures one room to another looking for her youngest daughter.

"Suzy.. come out now. You need to take your medicine now or else you won't look pretty anymore. Those rashes won't be gone unless you take your medicine you know? " Jane spoke again as she glance down each of her daughter's bed.

As Jane keep a lookout for Suzy in the house, Suzy was outside of the house dumbfounded when she stares at all the birds flying away freely like it was frightened at something. What amazed her more is that, not only birds but most of the animals seemingly frightened at something.

" What's wrong little bunny, why are you so scared?" Suzy spoke to the bunny that she holds on to. The bunny keeps on trying to jump away from Suzy's hand and it was trembling hard.

" Come on bunny, let's go inside. I can't stand the itch any longer." Suzy said while she keeps on scratching her neck and walking into the house while carrying her little bunny inside.

When night came, the neighborhood was so lively with all the street lights turned on. The surroundings were livelier when all the residents were back home from their work.

Seth was busy with his phone in the living room discussing business, while Mia was happy enough to tell on stories that happened at the hospital today. Mia is a nurse at A Hospital in Hawaii.

"I tell you, mom, those matrons were keeping on bullying me again and again. Can I move back to China? I missed all my friends, and besides, I don't have many friends in here anyway.. when is dad going to finish up his business deal here? " Mia said to Jane while pouting. She looks so childish when she was speaking despite her age is already 29 years old this year.

Jane was looking at Mia apologetically as she knows she had promised the kids maximum of 2 years only they will be staying in Hawaii. As soon as Seth finished up his contract in Hawaii, they will go back to China where her hometown is.

Seth is an American citizen, so living in Hawaii is not an issue, and Hawaiians are basically very nice to foreigners. Chinese people were all over Hawaii, and Jane quite liking this place too. It's just that its been 4 years now since she left China. She misses home too.

If only she knows that her wish was about to come true because of one natural phenomenon...

On the other side of the world, rumbles, cracking sound, bubbling like hot things were melted and crash sounds of heavy fallen things were heard. Soon, people were shouting and screaming for their lives as buildings keep on collapsing as the earth shake their floor.

This night, nobody expects that tonight would be their last night to enjoy a normal night with their loved ones. Or if they still have their loved ones.
