Jesse Luna is as ordinary of a human being as it gets, her glasses don't magically hide a face gorgeous enough for a makeover scene of a 90's teen rom-com movie, she isn't as kind-hearted and weak to be in the damsel in distress/princess archetype, nor is she wild or cool enough to be the traditional Manic Pixie Dream Girl. She knows she isn't perfect and any boy who tells her so would be lying. She is aware of her own flaws, insecurities and regrets. She felt like she had made too many mistakes in her life to be anywhere near perfect. Until she met Ash, a boy just as flawed and imperfect as she is. Suddenly, she found herself lost in a love story she has never read before. Because this one is real, and real love stories are different. Too many stories have told how magical love is and how it makes the world revolve and we all know how it goes, everything is serendipity and destiny, yada, yada, yada, they live happily ever after.
