5 Chapter 5: New Home, Old Friend

Jia YuTu's POV:

'Pat' 'Pat' 'Pat'

My mother patted me on the back gently after feeding me. Soon enough, I feel the need to burp. But I'm reluctant to do so.

But my mother was looking at me with such expectant eyes. Seeing my mother care for me this way with such love and expectations for me to burp, it was hard for me to resist and not comply. But I wouldn't want her to think there was something wrong with me either. Convincing myself, I strengthened my resolve and my lips trembled and I let out a small burp.

"Urp"

My mother gasped and hold me in her lap and looked and me.

"Oh. My. God! You are so adorable! That has to be the cutest burp in history! Aww! My sweet baby!"

My mother squealed and looked at me in awe and rubbed her checks against mine while I turned to look at the nurse and sent signals for help.

'SOS'

However, the nurse only looked up at me for a brief moment before resuming her work, ignoring my distress signals. I silently resigned to my fate.

Soon after, my eyelids started getting heavy and I started nodding off.

'This... This body is truly inconvenient! Sleep eat sleep eat! This is the life of a pig!'

I complained silently while I went off to la-la land.

Two days passed in a blink of an eye and my mother and I were discharged.

--------------------

A yellow taxi stopped in front of a semi-detached house.

A gorgeous woman with a model like figure came out of the car holding a newborn child in her arms. She took her luggage, paid and thanked the driver, and proceeded to the house.

She stopped at the door of the house and caressed her child's head.

"Baby, this is our new home from now on."

I blinked and squinted, trying to get a good look at the house, but my efforts were futile since my vision was always still just as blurred so I gave up on trying. But even with just blurs of colors, I could still tell that this is the same home I had lived in back in my childhood at my past life.

My mother entered the house carrying me and a wave of nostalgia washed over me. I was thinking about the past when another pretty lady appeared at the door and she too, like my mother was carrying a baby.

"Excuse me. Pardon me from intruding but I just wanted to say hello since I'm you neighbor. If you ever need anything or any help, feel free to ask me!"

'Ah. How could I forget.'

This is the house I lived in with my childhood friend, Mei ShuangBai.

My mother replied in an cheerful tone and the other women replied just as enthusiastically. They hitted off immediately and it was as if they were old friends and not strangers.

I glanced at the baby in her arms. To my surprise, she was also looking at me. With the same cheerful and foolish smile I remembered her to have. I saw the baby's mouth move. For a second, I though she was goin to cry or scream or something. I'm not that fond of kids so I can't help but think this way.

But instead she mouthed hello. My eyes widened and I nearly gasped. I would have rubbed my eyes if not for the fact that I was all bundled up.

I closed my eyes to tried to digest what happened. My eyesight was blurry so I could have just saw wrong. Or she just happened to move her mouth that way. Nodding and convinced of my own reasoning, I composed myself and prepared myself to face the world again.

I opened my eyes and saw the baby still staring at me. This time she mouthed something different.

'Jia YuTu! Long time no see!'

I quickly shuttled my eyes again. I must have opened my eyes the wrong way. Or I just saw wrong.

I opened my eyes again but to my horror, this time Mei ShuangBai had mouthed more sentences.

'Xiao Tu, what's wrong?'

'Answer me Xiao Tu!'

'Why are you ignoring me!'

'Answer me!'

'Wuuu! Xiao Tu doesn't regonize me anymore!'

I stared at her. I guess there's no question.

She really is speaking to me. I mouthed back a reply.

'Xiao Bai. Are you reincarnated too?'

Mei ShuangBai's face lit up at my response and replied.

'Yes! This is so awesome! Like something straight out of a novel! I almost can't believe it!'

I was just about to say something back when I saw my mother and the other women looking down at us and their conversation started to be talking about us.

"Look like our daughters are going to get along! Look at how they calm they are around each other!"

"I agree! I can already tell they are going to be good friends!"

... I kind of didn't want to deal with this right now. Did they realize we were conversing with each other? I looked over at Mei ShuangBai and she had her eyes closed as if she was sleeping. Maybe she really was sleeping.

'Is this the I don't see you, you don't see me logic? I guess that works.

I closed my eyes to and pretended to be asleep. And you know what? I actually fell asleep.
