1 Chapter 1: Continue Working

'Click' 'clack' 'Click' 'clack'

The sound of high heels echoed through the hallway. A woman in her late 20s with her silky white hair cut to a bob with bangs and lavender eyes can be seen waking quickly but elegantly towards the corner office. She stopped before a door and knocked on it three times, before a deep, low, magnetic and attractive voice replied from the inside.

"Come in."

The woman then opened the door and went in, while politely greeting him.

"CEO."

Her voice was dead, devoid of emotions, but at the same time was silvery and was pleasing to the ear.

The CEO who was across the room in his work desk, nodded in acknowledgment without looking up from the document. He had ebony hair and eyes that suited him perfectly.

The woman walked to him and said "CEO, I'm here to remind you of the meeting you have in 10 minutes."

"En." The CEO finished off the document he was reading before getting up. "Let's go."

The CEO exited the room with his secretary following behind him and entered another room with a meeting table filled in except for the seat at head of the table. Everyone in the room politely greeted him, and the CEO replied simply. He seated himself at the head of the table and the secretary stood behind his left, while opening her computer at the same time.

The CEO smiled and was friendly but domineering at the same time.

"Let's get this meeting started."

As the group disscussed among each other and asked questions every here and there, the secretary skillfully and rapidly typed out all of their words. Soon after, the meeting was over.

Everyone then went their own ways, some back to their office, some to their departments, and some guests leaving. As for the CEO, he also went back to hs office to continue his work. The secretary went on her way to her own office. She got on the elevator and as she got off her floor, someone noticed her and greeted her. She had brown hair which she put in a messy bun and bright, emerald eyes.

" Jia YuTu."

The person then walked a few steps past her before abruptly stopping in her tracks and her whole body started to tremble. She then tuned around and suddenly jumped enthusiastically at Jia YuTu.

"Xiao Tu! The meeting is over already? Also, a new Cafe has opened up recently! Something called Milky Nekos! Want to go there on Saturday? I heard they have a whole section dedicated to a desert buffet! They have everything I can possibly think of! Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, low carb browned butter chocolate chip skillet cookie, chocolate lava cakes, strawberry pancake trifle, banana bread with chocolate chips, spiced chiffen cake, all kinds of sorbet, cheese cake, and they have a cat renting system! You totally have to go! " The woman shaked her fist in excitement thinking about this.

Xia YuTu letted out a small, soft smile and sighed while flicking the person on the forehead.

" Mei ShuangBai, you lost our bet. There's still 20 minute until the end of 24 hours, but you had just act like a kid. Pity."

Mei ShuangBai pouted sadly. "Awww. Just 20 more minutes! Then you would have letted me dress you up! It's such a shame, you look so pretty but you don't ever dress up!"

She looked down for a few moments before happily chattering on. " Never mind that! Do you want to go with me to the Cafe or no! Even if you say no I will drag you with me! "

Mei ShuangBai had a determined look on her face.

Xia YuTu pretended to think for a while before giving her a reply. "But Xiao Bai, have you already forgotten about the interview that you have on Saturday?"

Mei ShuangBai looked confused for a moment. " Interview?" She thought hard for a while before it finally hitted her. "Ah! My interview! For my dream job! I almost forgot about that! I need to go back and prepare for it! I need to draw a few more designs! I don't nearly have enough! Oh I'm so glad you reminded me!"

Mei ShuangBai quickly gave Xia YuTu a hug before speed walking to her job department.

Soon after though, Mei ShuangBai quickly went back to give Xia YuTu a reminder. "Ugh! I may not be free this week but I won't let you off next week! You can't escape!"

She then left as quickly as she had came back, leaving a speechless Xia YuTu behind. "This girl." she shaked her head and sighed, watching Mei ShuangBai leave from her sight. She then took out her phone to text Mei ShuangBai. 'Remember to call me if you need help.' Mei ShangBai quickly replied. 'Of course! Love you!', followed by a string of heart and kisses. She smiled and chuckled softly at this before proceeding to go to her own office.

At her office, she was concentrating on her work. After a while she stopped to stretch. She checked her phone and saw that it was quite late. 'Hm. It's quite late. But I really don't feel like going home. I never do. There's no point anyway. I'll just continue working overtime again. It's a good way to pass time and to distract myself.'

With this thought in mind, she continued with her work.
