"She's awake!" Barten burst through my door to shout. I leapt out of my bed as fast as I could at the shock of this news.

The woman that Barten had announced the awakening of had not been said, but there was no need to point out who was being referred to. This person would only awaken at rare intervals. There were times when she would sleep for over twenty years and then there were periods where she only slept for a month. As a result of these random periods of sleep, the woman has been assigned supervision at all times. This job is typically treated as relaxing work, considering the fact that needing to do anything while deployed is rare, but that doesn't mean things do not happen.
