Epilogue Part Two: Alone.

The strange sensation inside of my chest remained as the final flicker of the elves disappeared before me. I felt my connection to the garden sever while the energy within my body equalized.

I couldn't avert my eyes from the spot that dad had last been. I don't know how describe it. I need to think.

"Everything got quiet! Is it over?" A servant woman burst through the doorway to ask. I barely turned my head to look at her, but her visage was still visible from the corner of my gaze.

"Um… Yeah! "Also, I guess the wedding is off, so can you send a letter to the emperor saying that it's off? I'd appreciate it." Kenji awkwardly stood still while he spoke to the woman. I didn't make a noise or do anything to stop him. I suppose the wedding really is off now.

I don't know how to feel about that.

With a bow, the servant woman smiled at each of us. "Right away." She said before she left through the same doorway that she came through.
