6 Presidents Palace

"You're drooling, maybe try closing your mouth?"

Night grinned and I gave him a scathing look though to be fair I was in awe of my surroundings. When he said house he surely meant palace, his home was huge and shiny and gorgeous.

We were currently in the living room sitting facing each other on plush leather chairs.

"Spit it out night, I want to know why you were looking for me, why you were in my office and how you know me!"

He did that annoying, definitely not sexy, raising of an eyebrow at my barrage of questions and leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees. I tried not to notice that he had rolled his shirt sleeves up and for some reason the sight of his forearms were driving me wild - I was down the rabbit hole with these kinds of reactions!!

"Look your step fathers family and mine go way back, I know you were raised by your father and only had contact with your mother after your father died last year."

I flinched involuntarily, any mention of my father causing me pain and Night gave me a small smile of condolence.

"Your step father is not a good man, he is responsible for the murder of my older sister I just can't prove it. I need an excuse to get close so I can investigate and find the proof I need. I need you to help me I need you to pretend we are engaged so I have an in with them."

He looked at me in such earnest and his reason was so heartfelt that I didn't think I could deny him but I needed to know a few more things first.

"Before I consider this"

I said, maintaining my poker face

" I need you to answer a few questions honestly, can you do that?"

"Anything" was his immediate reply.

"If you approached me knowing you needed my help why were your first words to me 'you bitch'?"

I crossed my arms remembering how angry that first meeting had made me. He smirked

"yeah that wasn't my finest moment, I thought you knew who I was and that you had spilled the coffee purposely and when I realised you didn't and hadn't I was too entertained by your fiery responses to apologise."

I fought the smile that was trying to cross my face but Night gave me a knowing look that made me want to punch that smug face of his.. or kiss it.. maybe both!

"Second question"

I started pushing aside all thoughts of kissing mcsexyface,

"firstly I am really sorry about your sister that's awful but how do you know it was him, when did this happen, I need more information but if it's too difficult to talk about I understand."

Running both hands through his thick dark locks he looked at me through narrowed eyes.

"I get that I need you and I am asking you to help me so I'll tell you the whole story but I need to know you won't repeat this to anyone - I need the proof before the truth comes out or he could have the time to cover things up".

I gave him my solemn vow and got ready to hear the tragic story of his sister and how she was murdered.
