2 With Lovely

It is already 1 o'clock in the morning but I'm still wide awake. Neither of them was I because of their own busy thing. I've done everything I could to kill the boredom but it's still damn boring.

It was when I decided to leave my ward and go for a walk wherever I can. I slowly got out of my bed while towing my IV stands. Everyone seems asleep and I am the only one who's still up. Even the nurses on the nurse's desks on each floor are all taking a nap. Few of them are on rounds.

I reached the garden on the ground floor with the coffee I purchased at the convenience store. I sat down on the bench and lean in. I took a deep breath and look up in the bright dark sky.

It's brighter than ever. Maybe because of the full moon. I remembered the days when my dad and I camped outside of the house. We lay in Mom's grass and looked up in the sky. It was the good old days.

"Hi."

A tall guy wearing a gray hoodie jacket suddenly showed up and sat beside me. When I finally get to see his face, I was right. It is the son of Dr. Lauren. But why is he here anyway? We're not even close. And the last time I met him, he was that snob.

I moved a little to give space between us because we're still strangers.

"Hello," I said. As a courtesy of his friendly gesture.

"My father is your doctor?" He asked after he sighed so heavily.

I nodded without looking at him. It'll be weird if I'm going to look at him. A lot of women keep screaming and even drooling whenever they see him. But as far I can see, in my opinion, he's not that handsome but yeah, he got a vibe of something I couldn't explain.

"I see."

I offered him a cup of my coffee but he refused.

"Have you ever dated someone before coming here?"

I wish I did. "Never had a chance." I simply said and turned off the music I had been listening to all along before he came. I don't want to be rude, though.

"I have a mother who's also terminally ill. But I haven't seen her for years." He said, out of nowhere. I was stunned for seconds because he was telling me about his family affairs that I found very inappropriate.

I looked in his direction, seeing him drinking a can of beer which I didn't see when I offered him a cup of coffee. He looked so serious right now. Compared to how I've met him, he's a completely different guy. Is it because Dr. Lauren is around?

"You should visit her," I said. I think telling him that is the vaguest advice I can tell him since I didn't know any of what happened and why he hadn't seen his mom for years.

He chuckled. "I wish I dared to do so."

From this very moment on, I knew that he's had alcohol on his head. We're completely strangers but he's telling me what's inside of his head. It was unusual for anyone to listen to a stranger but never did I feel like that at this moment. I wanted to ask many questions but I refrained my self.

"It's your mom after all," I said and took a sip of my coffee.

He looked at me before drinking his can of beer. The look in his eyes isn't angry. It was longing for someone who you wanna be with. It's longing for warmth.

I smiled at him. I don't know if my smile will make him feel good because I had no hair and looked so weird right now, but I wish it could. He laughed. He laughed again but his eyes is sad.

"You know, you're pretty if you had hair."

My smile immediately disappeared and my eyes went in a different direction. Damn. Can he still this so judgmental after listening to him? "If only I had no cancer, I'll be pretty." I corrected him.

He took his phone out of the pocket of his pants and gave it to me. I looked at it and accepted it while still looking at him asking "Why did you give me this?" He pointed his phone using his mouth and sip on his beer.

"What should I do with this? Throw this?"

"Dial your number."

"What?"

"I want your number." He said looking directly at my eyes without even blinking. I quickly avoided his gaze and start typing my number on his phone. After that, he took it and dialed my number. My phone in the pocket of my hospital dress rang. I didn't answer it that's why he ended the call immediately.

"Save my number."

"For what?"

"We're dating as of today. Bye." He then stood up and walked away. Leaving me with a surprised look and stunned for a moment because of what he just said that I can't even understand. Dating? We? Are? Dating? Eh?

I followed him with my gaze, seeing that he stopped halfway up the stairs and turned to face me again. He smiled at me immensely while waving. I grimaced at what he just did and said and glared at him.

"Meet me at 6 am!" He shouted while still waving at me. He threw a flying kiss at me then turned around and he walked away.

What was that?

I could feel the rapid feeling of my heart as I could feel the tingling sensation in my stomach. I also can feel the hotness and the redness of my cheeks. What was that? Really? I mean, why am I feeling this way? Oh my gosh, no way! He's drunk and is playing with me. There's no way he would talk to me and tell me crap. He's that coldhearted guy I met at the convenience store a while ago.

I groaned in frustration and shook my head. Stop thinking about that, Herra! I stood up and looked around to see that no weird guy was coming to me and will tell me that we were dating as of now.

I was returning to my ward when I saw a familiar tall man arranging the fruits on the table and carefully putting them on the refrigerator while whistling happily.

"Daddy!" I shouted and then he smiled at me happily.

I ran to him and hugged him tightly. Soon after, he kissed me on my forehead. "Where did you come from?"

"I just took a walk."

He helped me get back on my bed and took the knife to peel the apple he brought.

"Your mom called me to stay with you for a few days." He started. "If I refused, she'll come to the office and kill me." He laughed.

"Feya's busy with school papers, and so is Mom," I said and ate the apple he was done peeling that he handled me.

"My secretary Lovely will come here to help me with the office work. Will that be okay with you?"

I stop. I looked at him.

Lovely is a young lady with a greedy attitude. She had been with Daddy for quite a long and that is the reason why Mom hated the fact that he was coming.

"Dad."

"What?"

"Don't."

"Honey, Lovely, she's my new—"

I cut him off.

"No way."

"Herra, darling."

I suddenly feel the rage. Not because that Lovely is coming. But because of the looks in Dad's eyes, I could not see when he and Mom is together. That's right. Like rich families, we're not whole.

There's always that petty witch who comes to ruin everything perfectly.

"Go home, Dad."

I could not see his reaction because I hurriedly face the other side and covered the blanket over my face.
