1 After 6 years

She went to her previous high school to certified the certificates for her upcoming interview. On her way walking the uphill to the school, she realized that it was the recess time.

"Looks like I came at the wrong time", muttered her softly.

Slowing down her steps, she was thinking either to keep going or going back home first and come again at a later time. But then, she just continued her steps, pushing aside the thoughts to come back later as she was too lazy to go to the school twice.

Ignoring the looks given by the students, she went straight to the office and met the front desk lady, asking to meet the principal for the certification. Then, the lady asked her to wait for a while before ushering her inside the principal's room.

She finished what she came there for and went outside after thanking the principal. "The school sure has changed a lot since I left," thought her.

She met a female teacher who recognised her straight away. Exchanging a few words for a while, the teacher left the office. Since it was the recess time, the office was also empty due to the people working taking their breaks too in the break room. She was looking down at her file, preparing to leave as she took a step towards the door. Suddenly, the door was opened from outside and a face that she had never saw for 6 years appeared. He was shocked, and so was her.

"Aili?"

"Mr. Wage?"

Their voice overlapped in the empty office and the silence in the office was becoming more deafening to her.
