1 Chapter 1 The mistake.

He messed up; He messed up badly. "Oh no, Oh no no no no no." He Could hear the alarms ringing throughout the room; the flashing red lights confirmed he was in trouble. The doors slammed down to the ground, the security system cutting off all the exits in less than a second. "This is bad." In the middle of the room was a man standing in his hands was a crown and not just any crown at that; it just so happened to be the Queen of England's crown.

The man was frantic; he paced back and forth repeatedly, staring at the exits seeing them closed; the thick iron doors were Nothing to mess with; they were roughly 15 inches wide; it would take hours to be able to weld his way through the doors. Still pacing, he searched with his eyes fast enough that his mind had to take in all the information within milliseconds of looking at the object.

He couldn't do anything; the walls were super slick; they had no grips, edges, or rough edges. He was screwed. The only thing he could do was hope he could force his ways through the guards. He sat on the floor and waited in a room roughly 30 feet wide and 50 feet tall. In the center of the room was a pedestal that held the crown of the Queen. Unfortunately, it had now disappeared as he miscalculated the weight of the crown.

"How could I be so stupid." He yelled at himself in his mind, this miscalculation left in this room to suffer, punching himself in his face, he threw the crown against the smooth silk wall, the crown bouncing off the wall landing 10 feet in front of him, the crown made a cracking sound as it hit the floor. These jewels were embedded now flying across the room, scattering across the floor. He just watched and tossed himself to the floor, screaming in frustration.

He was sitting back up from the position. He then scanned the horizons one last time; he saw that the place where the pedestal went had a slight crack in it from where the bag was sitting; just from the gap in the ground, he could see a staircase that leads straight down into darkness, wondering what the stairs lead to his thoughts began to run wild. "If there was a staircase here, why did it not show up on the plans the old man gave me?" Reaching into his back pocket, he pulled out a perfectly folded paper that was folded in 1/16th, the perfect size to fit inside his back pocket.

Once he laid the plans on the ground, he scanned over them very carefully like he did the day before, but to his surprise, there was a part of the map that was empty, and that was right where the staircase was, unable to hold in his excitement, he took a deep breath. "1. 2. 3. 4. 5." He slowly released his breath, staring at the crack in the floor; he bent down and placed both of his hands on the edge of the aperture and pulled with his strength to pull the pedestal back up hoping something could help him get to that staircase.

Pulling with all his might, he managed to lift the pedestal about 2 inches before he could feel it forcing its way back down. With sheer determination, fighting against the pull that was causing the pedestal to sink, his muscles tensed, the veins in his head and arm were starting to pop. He was slowly beginning to lose concessions, As he was not the most physically fitted person but was still on the agile, slim side of things.

Giving it one last good pull, he felt the system release. Then, managing to bring the pedestal back to its starting point, feeling relieved with what he had done, placing hands upon his head taking in nice long breaths. Feeling his head throb from the increase of oxygen made him feel relieved; having to go even a little bit longer would have caused him to pass out for sure, and that was something he wanted to avoid.

After catching his breath, he stood up and inspected the pedestal in front of him, checking every nook and cranny. After finding something that looked like a socket, he put his eye next to the hole. BAM! The iron door behind him flung open, the Queen and the guards walked into the room, each of them armed to the teeth. "Hi there, it's so nice to get to know you finally; Shadow, or should I call you Airik." The shock from the Queen's words appeared on Airiks' face. No one should have known his real name, he never told anyone what it was, but the Queen knew without a second glance. "I bet you are wondering how I found your name out, Well it's quite simple actually," she said, walking towards Airik with a menacing expression. "You know that I am the Queen, but what you fail to have noticed is that I'm the King of the underworld. Why am I the Queen telling you this? Well, you see, you won't be living for more than a few hours anyway, so I might as well show you my true colors." She said mockingly to the man who was in a helpless situation. "Guards Seize him." She snapped.

Airik didn't know what to do. He was stuck, two guards swiftly moved towards him at a remarkable speed, once that did not match that of an average human, he could follow their movements, but it was too late as the guards put him to the ground at a pace that shouldn't have been possible. Struggling to get his arms free, he frantically flailed and kicked as he used everything he had to throw the guards off of him but sadly to no avail, as they were twice his size.

"HAHAHAHAHA!! You think you could outsmart me brilliantly!" The Queen screamed. She arrived up to where Airik was captive and lowered herself close to him and then looked at the hole in the pedestal, and a light came from it scanning the reticle of her eye; the system then responded.

"Host Identified, Queen Perilly. Welcome back." The system rang out and opened the floor, revealing a staircase that seemed to lead to the abyss. Perring down the hole that his head was now dangling off, he could truly see how terrifying the stairs were; there seemed to be zero light entering in; it looked as if you were eaten whole. "Staircase now available, Queen Perilly, Please proceed with caution." The system echoed throughout the entire room, reverbing off the walls. It sounded like it never had an end; the voice seemed to get farther and farther away with each passing moment.

The guards lifted him off the ground, Breaking his arms at the elbows and legs at the kneecaps. Screaming in pain, he slowly started to whimper in agony as the guards continued to beat him down, breaking every bone that was available in his body—leaving only the essential bones to keep him alive. Tears streamed down his face mixing with the blood dripping from his nose onto the floor; a bloody pile of vomit sat as he got slugged in the stomach. Finally, not being able to withstand the pain any longer, his vision went blurry, his mind shutting down, The agony slowly turning into despair and helplessness.

After losing consciousness, the Queen snapped and told the guards to follow her; They slowly and methodically walked down the stairs. The Queen continued to traverse down the steps at an alarmingly slow pace. She took slow even-paced steps. It looked as if she was floating on air, and each step thumped with a low whisper releasing from each step, Slowly the descent came, the Queen began to lower her Guard, lowering herself to the ground, BANG! Something smashed into the wall above the Queen; her face began to light up, her even slow steps started to speed up. She rushed down the steps, ducking, jumping, sidestepping; it looked like she was a ballerina, each trap that was set up weaving past her; the wind she produced looked as if it moved the blades and prevented them from touching her. She finally landed on her right toe, standing in a pose turning around, seeing the terrified faces of the guards.

"Come now, boys, I already set them all off. No need to wait." A smile began to show on her face as if she was waiting for something; she knew something that the guards didn't. She was excited; she was waiting for it. The guards began to creep down the steps, not knowing what that face was meant to do. The Queen watched with anticipation, trying not to let it show on her face, but a grimace could be seen stretching on her face as they approached the next step.

Shoosh, A blade shot out from the wall, cutting off one of the guard's head. The guard's head slowly slid off his neck, landing on the step in front of him. It rolled down the steps thumping from each stage. Thump, Thump, Thump. The head landed at the bottom of the Queen's feet; she picked it up and stared at it for a second, then burst into uncontrollable laughter.

"HAHAHAHA, I can't believe you morons would trust my words after everything I've done to you." She started tossing the head in the air catching it over and over again; then she dropped the head from her hand, jumping into the air. She threw her leg back and launched it forward. The guard's head hit perfectly on the top of her boot; the head flew at an extreme speed straight down into the abyss. The sound of wind tearing could be heard, then an explosion from the head hitting the ground echoed through the staircase; the Queen landed with both feet on the ground so elegantly that no one would have thought she was the one to have kicked the head. "Let's continue." She said, smiling at the last guard whose face was full of terror, not knowing what to say.

Once they reached the bottom of the staircase, the guards face dropped with horror; not only had she killed his best friend, but she had killed thousands of guards and people sitting at the bottom of here; not knowing where to look, he faced his eyes to the dark pit in the middle of the room, Chains hung from the edge he made an educated guess on the matter, thinking it was there so she could torture and torment whomever she pleased, a skeleton hung from one side of the whole and a brand new set and been set up as if she knew Airik was going to try to steal the crown from her.

He was looking down at the poor man he now held in his hands. A tear rolled down his face; he felt sorry for what was going to happen to him, knowing it wasn't going to be something an average person could tolerate, he alone was terrified not just from the words of the Queen but the hole and the sheer amount of bodies that laid at his feet.

"Looks like they forgot to clean this room again, It's only been a week, and they can't ever seem to do their job right." The Queen kicked a dead body making her way to the chains that hung down from the wall. "Now Harry put these chains on him and throw him over the edge. He should be waking up any second now." She said, tossing the chains to the guard, her words striking fear in his heart.

Airik started to shake his head. He felt like he was floating on air; the pain slowly started to return. Looking down, noticing what was happening, now dangling in a pit of darkness. Fear sprang through his whole body, attempting to move his body, realizing that it was a task that couldn't have been done. His body wasn't responding to anything that was happening; Nothing would move. His eyes began to shake, hearing whispers from the bottom of the tunnel telling him to come down and join them, refusing to do so, trying everything. Still, Nothing was working; a horrified look could be discerned on his face when the chain began to shake. Looking up, seeing the Queen staring down upon him, her eyes glowed red. Her face began to change. It was no longer a human; it was a monster. Her mouth gaped open he could see three rows of teeth, she slowly started to hover down towards him. "How is that possible?" He screamed.

She grimaced, her gaping mouth took up half her face, her eyes began to change to black holes, her body began to shift. "How do you ask? Well, anything is possible when you make a deal with the devil himself." Airik's face began to go pale, and he couldn't do anything. He was hopeless, 19 years of his life gone just like that; having so much potential made thinking everything was easy; rising through the underworld was an easy task. But, there was Nothing he could steal. How could he mess up so poorly? His face froze, now realizing why he wasn't able to steal the crown; his face flew towards the direction of the Queen, taking in her words about the King of the underworld to heart.

"So the reason I couldn't steal the crown was because of you?" His eyes were full of glee, aspiring with hope; he thought maybe if he could gain her trust, he could get out of here.

"Well, what a smart cookie you are. The only reason you are here is that I planned on killing you; I wanted to get rid of you so you could never threaten my position as the top." She said, seeing the aspiration dwindling out of his eyes, "Know I'm going to torture you till you tell me why Willam wants me dead."

Airik couldn't stand the torture; it went on for hours. He kept his mouth shut. He couldn't betray the man that brought him in from the orphaning; Nothing would make him open his mouth, a promise made to William was never to say anything about him as William was a father to him If only the burden were lighter, the torture tore his skin apart, his fingers were being cut off one by one, He was missing half a nose, nine fingers, and a wrist.

"Tsk. Fine, if you are not going to tell me, I'll leave you here overnight, then let us see what morning brings." Ascending back up the stairs, the Queen disappeared and left Him hanging there by his feet and hand.

"I'm going to kill her! I swear on my dead mother's grave. She will never walk on this earth again.
