Chapter 1: Pregnant

"You're pregnant!" The doctor informed her after looking at the ultrasound. Sirena was in shock and had the biggest smile on her face. She just found out the best news of her life! And even better, she was pregnant by her boyfriend of 2 years.

Adam and Sirena met during their college days, but didn't start dating til they graduated. Adam is a charmer that had dated multiple women during his college days, but had been on and off with his ex, Chelsea. Naive Sirena, however, did not know about this when pursuing the relationship.

They had not been on good terms for the past 2 weeks, Chelsea had been contacting Adam about getting back together again. Adam assured her that there was nothing to worry about, so Sirena could do the only thing a girlfriend could do: trust him. After all, what was a relationship without trust?

"The heartbeat is good and everything is stable. Make sure to eat healthy, get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Here is a list of other dos and dont's, as well as vitamins you need to take." The doctor handed her the paper and a picture of the fetus, then left the room.

Sirena looked at the picture and her heart immediately filled with warmth. She was sure this news would bring her and Adam closer together! She grabbed her purse and exited the hospital. Adam's apartment was not far, so Sirena decided to walk there.

She placed her hand on her tummy. "Daddy's going to be so happy about this news, honey!" she said in an ecstatic tone.

Sirena was absolutely glowing! Every passerby could only tell the exciting news she had just received.

She walked so casually, her long black hair bounced with every stride of her long legs. Her beautiful tanned skin was radiating compared to the Sun. She had curves in all the right places and wore a pearly white smile that stopped everyone from what they were doing just to take a glance at her as she passed them by.

Meanwhile a man was on the phone with his assistant while waiting at a red stop light. He had dark brown hair with dark hazel eyes that looked like they could just kill by looking at them directly.

The crosswalk signal allowed for the crowd of people to cross to get to their destination, but one little lady stood out from the crowd and this caught the mans attention.

Her breathtaking appearance made the people around her look dull.

That smile of hers was so captivating to him that he almost forgot entirely that he was on a phone call. He stared until she was out of his sight.

"Uh sir?" asked his assistant due to her bosses lack of response.

The man came of his dazed state and continued his call. "Make sure that roommate posting gets sent out in the newspaper today." And then he just abruptly hung up the phone.

...

As she entered the apartment building and headed towards the elevator, out of the corner of her eye she saw two figures acting rather intimate.

She turned her head fully and immediately froze. One of the figures was Adam! He was holding the blonde woman by her waist and was kissing her! Her smile immediately fell when she saw them and just stood there.

Sirena felt like a fool. She had given this man everything over the past 2 years. She didn't heed the warning her parents gave her about the man. It turned out that they were at the supermarket one day and saw Adam getting rather intimate with a woman in a small aisle. Her parents called him out and told him they were going to tell Sirena, but Adam was quick and got to her first. He filled her head with ridiculous ideas about her parents and how they wanted to separate them.

Coincidentally, this was the same woman Sirena saw him with now! They always said he was a despicable cheat and stood by it, but naive Sirena was so in love she didn't listen. So she completely cut off contact with her parents, and left home.

Adam felt her presence and stopped what he was doing. He looked straight at Sirena and was shocked to see her standing there.

"Sirena??"

The blonde woman looked at the woman standing before them and smirked.

"Is this the girlfriend you said was too clingy Adam? She's not leaving much to the imagination! I've seen pigs that looked prettier than her!" She chuckled.

Sirena walked towards them with hateful glistening eyes. She stopped a mere foot away and just stared at Adam.

"Sirena I-" SMACK!

Sirena had struck him across the face. It was so loud that the blonde woman beside him was shocked. Adam held his cheek and was stunned.

"You bastard! I gave up everything for you! And this is how you repay me?!" Her tear filled eyes looked at his wide eyed ones.

Sirena glared at the two. If looks could kill, they would have been dead on the spot!

She looked back at Adam.

"Say something, coward!" Sirena yelled at the top of her lungs. Her outburst stunned them and they could only look at her disheveled, teary face.

Adam looked at Sirena with guilty eyes.

"Sirena, I'm sorry but I don't think this is working out. I think we should end it here."

In Adams mind, he had to stay true to his feelings. It was always going to be Chelsea! No matter how many women he dated, none could compare to his dear Chelsea.

"Oh thanks for telling me that right after I catch you making out with that blonde tramp!"

"Her name is Chelsea, Sirena. Show some respect!" He said in an already annoyed voice.

'Is he for real right now! What about me! Where's my respect?? I'm the girlfriend! She's the saboteur.' Sirena was so angry that she just shook her head and said "You want to break it off? Fine, but remember this: you didn't just lose one person today, you lost two!" And with that, she left with her head held high and Adam was left dumbfounded.

He expected to her to beg him to stay, her reaction was unexpected and this annoyed him!

Sirena ran outside the apartment building. She didn't even know where she was looking. She was so blinded by her tears that she didn't realize she ran into the street.

It was only until she heard a screech of a car beside her did Sirena finally come back to her senses.

She stood in her tracks and just looked at the car in front of her. A few moments passed and finally, out stepped a tall male figure from the drivers seat.

He was incredibly handsome despite his eyes hiding under his sunglasses. He had dark brown hair, a thin beard, and thin pink lips. His lean figure looked very intimidating, but for some reason, Sirena wasn't frightened when she saw him.

He walked toward her and leaned over her.

"You do know you walked right in the middle of the street when cars are passing by, right? It's a miracle I didn't hit you." He stared right into her jade green eyes and paused when realizing this was the same woman he saw at the crosswalk only an hour ago!

She was even more beautiful up close! Her beautiful tan skin, dark hair, and plump figure were extraordinary. He was dazed for a second, but quickly came back to his senses.

Sirena's built up anger slowly subsided when she saw the man before her and just stood there in awe.

"SIRENA!" Adam came running after Sirena outside when he saw her almost get hit by a car through the lobby window.

Sirena looked in the direction of where the voice was coming from and her aura immediately changed when seeing Adam.

The stranger seemed to have sensed that Sirena did not like the man approaching them. Her complexion was very different compared to how he saw her earlier. Her once calm demeanor was now placed with anger and eyes filled with rage.

"Ex-boyfriend?" asked the man with a mocking tone and curious look on his face. "Yep" Sirena gritted through her teeth.

He immediately got a sour look on his face from that response. He was jealous, but was amused from her complexion towards the man coming closer to them.

Adam finally caught up to them. "Sirena, are you okay??" He was worried, but Sirena wasn't having any of it.

"Sorry for the trouble sir, I'll take it from here." Adam tried to take Sirena's hand to lead her away from the street, but Sirena yanked her hand away right when he touched her.

"NO. You don't get to care about me now! Leave me alone!" "Sirena just come with me-" Adam had attempted to grab her again and this time, he grabbed her wrist and squeezed it. Hard. "No! Go run back to that blonde tramp like you always do!" They continued with their struggle and a few passerby's started to stop and stare at the scene.

"Sirena" a low soft voice spoke.

Both stopped their struggle and looked at the man who called her name. "I believe you're mistaken. Sirena is a good friend of mine. So I'm going to say this one time and one time only. Get. Your. Hand. Off. Her" That last phrase had a hidden threat in it, stating that if he didn't let go, he would regret it.

Adam quickly let go of her wrist and had a look of fear on his face. The stranger just glared at him. It was so menacing that daggers felt like they were piercing Adams soul.

Sirena looked back at the two men. The stranger looked back at her and they locked eyes with each other. He nodded for her to take this chance and leave. Sirena immediately got the hint, she mouthed a thank you and ran off down the street.
