Synopsis

"Leave me alone!" I scream, fending off the two strange figures. They are dressed like the participants- in a form of synthetic material, the only difference being black masks that hug their faces and cover all but their eyes. "Layla Vaidehi, of the White Quarter," one announces, lifting my arm up as if I have won something. They all go silent. I notice now that some of them are nervous. Their pallid faces were hid before by their ruthless expressions. They turn to face me in unison. What is this? They step out to the right and adjust their hands behind their backs. "Welcome to the fight," they state bluntly. Suddenly, I feel the cold push of a needle against my arm. I try to fight, but I feel weak. I feel myself being dragged away by the figures, who I assume are guards. As I walk, I swear I hear someone whispering under their breath... "You should've ran when you had the chance."
