3 Deal

"Does you and your wife's lives sound fair?"

Troy knew that Ace wouldn't have walked into that party unless it was apart of whatever she was scheming. It was either that or she was stupid, but apparently it was the former. He looked into her eyes and he was enraged. He knew that his wife was here and he'd never put her in danger purposely. He had only brought her because he thought he'd just be discussing business with two associates on other matters, but he didn't know that Ace would actually show up! In fact, one of his men had told him that she said that she wouldn't show!

"You won't lay a hand on her." Troy's voice was shaking as he spoke but he knew that she would. His words indicated that he was attempting to make a threat, but his tone of voice turned it into a plea. The two witnesses who were seemingly glued to their seats watched as a well respected man fell to his knees at the hands of a devil disguised as an angel.

"Oh? I won't?" Ace tilted her head slightly to the side and looked at him with fake innocent eyes as she pouted, "Hm."

Troy snapped his fingers and his men pulled out their guns and pointed them towards Ace, but her expression didn't falter. It was as though she didn't even notice the weapons pointed towards her.

She put up her hand and spoke again, "I don't think you wanna do that Troy."

She then pulled her phone out of her purse.

Jack was doing his best to make small talk with the lady in the red dress, but he seemed to be struggling.

"So what's your name?" He asked after grabbing a glass of champagne from a passing waiter.

She looked him up and down and thought for a second before she decided to speak, "Anne. You?" She smiled at him.

"Jack." He awkwardly smiled back while trying to think about what else to say to keep the conversation going, "So, what's a beautiful lady like you doing all alone at a bar?"

Anne chuckled and leaned on the bar, "Aren't you a little too young to be hitting on me son?" She was right. Jack was twenty-four and she had just turned forty-one.

"I wasn't trying to hit on you, ma'm. I've just been watching you and see you've had quite a few paloma's. I got a feeling that things aren't going so well for you right now." Jack took the seat next to Anne and nodded towards the empty glasses as he gulped down his champagne.

A sad look came into Anne's eyes, but she continued to smile anyway, "Well well well! We've got ourselves a detective? So Mr. Detective, tell me how do I fix these troubles that you think I'm having." her hand was supporting her head and you can see her rocking back and forth slightly indicating she had just a little too much to drink.

"Well, I may be a detective, but I'm no fortune teller." Jack smiled softly and called the bartender over, "hey can you get me two waters?" The bartender came back and slid the two glasses to Jack and Anne.

"So, Mr. detective, what is a handsome young man like you doing comforting a sad hopeless lady like me when you can be out on the floor getting any woman you desire?" Her smile was long gone and Jack could see now that she looked tired.

"Actually, a friend of mine left me and wondered off. She had to meet up with someone that she knew. So when I saw you I decided that there's nothing wrong with getting acquainted. " It wasn't the exact truth, but it wasn't a complete lie either.

"Oh, so your date ditched you too, huh? My husband told me he would be back in thirty minutes and I've been sitting here for an hour and a half. I bet he's off with another girl again." the last sentence slipped out of Anne's mouth before she could stop herself. Her eyes widened and looked at Jack, who seemed to not mind the slip of personal information. She then relaxed. What was the point of hiding it. After all nothing felt better than ranting your life problems to a random stranger that you met at a bar. Anne laughed to herself and sipped her water.

"Oh, I see. I'm sorry." It sounded like Jack was apologizing to her for her situation, but in reality what he meant by 'Oh I see' was that he saw why Ace sent him over to the bar. It was because this woman was Troy's wife! What he meant by 'I'm sorry.' was that he was sorry that she had ended up in whatever mess Ace was cooking up. Jack sighed, he really did feel bad for this woman.

" What does your husband do?" Jack knew exactly what he did, he only asked this question out of curiosity on if she knew that her husband illegally transfers drugs across the boarder. Despite the water he had given her, she was obviously intoxicated. Not enough where she was passed out drunk, but enough that she was spilling things that she usually doesn't say.

Anne creased her eyebrows to think. To be honest she wasn't exactly sure what her husband did when he went on "business trips" or got called to late night "meetings". He said that it had something to do with stocks and she never questioned it. She wasn't really good at this whole business thing anyway. She had just been a trophy wife all her marriage.

"I..It's something with stocks....or something.." She slightly pouted her lips as she looked away before she looked back at Jack, "Actually I never really asked. When a man brings home money and it puts you in a mansion, you don't really ask too many questions."

Jack nodded his head. Anne had no idea about the things her husband did, and he wasn't going to be the one to inform her. It wasn't his place to do so, but something told him that it wasn't going to be long before she found out. Knowing Ace, this woman will be given no mercy despite the fact that she has nothing to do with whatever Troy had going on. She was going to be unwillingly dragged into a mess that she will never recover from.

Jack's phone buzzed and he pulled it out. It was a text from Ace instructing him to lead Anne outside.

Jack looked up at Anne with soft eyes, as if to silently say sorry.

He closed his eyes and sighed before he spoke, "Hey. It's getting kind of suffocating in here and it looks like you need some air. How about we step out?"

Anne was massaging her temples and was struggling to stay still, for she was still rocking slowly back and forth.

She nodded and almost fell when she stood up, but Jack caught her.

He took her by the arm and led her outside.

Ace typed a little bit before she clicked on a mass message of photos. She faced her phone towards Troy to show him.

He was frozen. Sadness came into his eyes as he looked at the unbelievable photos before him. His wife was arm in arm with who he could only guess to be one of Ace's men. He looked at the photo and then back at Ace.

"She has nothing to do with this! You're willing to take an innocent life!?" Troy fumed.

"Of course I am. If that innocent life gets me what I want, but...if you don't like the choice I do know where your daughter lives. OH! Or how about your nephew? Mmmm, Maybe your brother!?" Ace clapped like a happy child choosing what toy she wanted from the store.

Troy sat back and massaged his temples. He really underestimated this demon spawn, and he had actually thought that she looked like an angel. Wow he was wrong about that. He rubbed his beard and thought for a second

"I can't just give you eighty-thousand dollars. Do you understand how much that is?"

Ace tapped on her phone some more before showing Troy pictures of his wife sitting outside and a group of her men behind her in the shadows. She then swiped and showed him pictures of his daughter that seemed to be taken from her window, and then a picture of his nephew in the store. Troy put his hand up signaling that she could stop.

He ran his fingers through his hair and screamed in frustration. Who does she think she is!? Playing God? Choosing who gets to live and die.

Troy knitted his eyebrows and finally spoke, "I'll call someone to pick up your men and send them home. I'll give you eighty-thousand in cash, but I don't want to ever see your face again. I also don't want a single hair touched on any of my family's head!" He stated his conditions.

Ace thought about it for a second. She was actually in the mood to see some blood tonight, but apparently that wasn't going to be happening. She emitted her cold aura and smiled, "Well then. Since you agreed to my terms then there's no reason for me to spill any blood! We will be keeping eyes on your brother, daughter, and nephew just in case you ever try to steal from me again. Also I'd like it if your men put their weapons away, anything happens to me and you're entire bloodline is destroyed, but I know you wouldn't be that stupid."

She then turned and walked out the door without anything else being said.
