1 Vernal

Abby sighed as she stared out of the window of her broken down car, the bright afternoon sun shining down on her face. Her blonde hair shone in the sunlight, and her blue eyes sparkled like diamonds. Her mother had been driving her to Vernal, which is nearly five hours away from her home-town. She was

going to Vernal to get a better education, as her other town didn't provide the correct recourses for an average teenager. Abby slowly drifted to sleep, with the not-so-pleasant thoughts of what her new school would be like drifting through her mind. She awoke roughly two hours later, in the dark of the night. The car seemed dark and gloomy, and it kind of scared Abby. They were pulling into the driveway of a old house, that seemed captivating but terrifying at the same time. "Mom, is this THIS the house we have to live in?" she said in a shaky voice. "We couldn't afford anything else." mumbled her mother, clearly annoyed due to the long drive. Abby went to turn on her phone, and realized that it was around 10:00 at night. She shakily opened her car door, and pulled herself onto the ground. She walked along her car, shining her phone's flashlight to see her surroundings. She felt her mom besides her, pulling out her suitcase. Abby lazily lifted her own suitcase out of the truck and carried it to the front door. She looked at the ground for a split second before she got to the front door, and caught a glimpse of something shiny. It seemed to give off a blue glow. Abby sprinted inside, visibly scared, but her mom didn't say anything.
