1 Prologue

Silence. No welcoming hug, No excited smiles. Not a thing.

She took a deep breath as she sadly scanned the entire house from the front door. This is the place where her family made most of her memories. Like that grand staircase where she used to slide down the railings and fall flat to the floor. It'd hurt so much but she would do it all over again just to feel the wind rush through her hair when they couldn't go outside. Or the living room where they used to have family game nights or watch a horror movie and scare each other. This huge, homey house, full of amazing and unforgettable memories belonged to her family for generations and now, she gets to live in it... alone. It's hard for her not to form tears and pretend like it's not hurting.

She sometimes wish that they were still here. That they never left but then that one small little detail, that one specific memory will always remind her that they're gone. Have you wondered why your family says they're there for you always but then they go out on a supposed business trip and be killed on the way? She's not even on the trip, yet it feels like a part of her also died. And it hurts.

It hurts a lot.
