Never Boring!

Aiden's eyes darkened at the "unwarranted" interruption from the outside world, while Oliver grasped at his inattention to slip out of his embrace and strode towards the nearby window. Perhaps Oliver walked away a bit too fast, making Aiden harden his resolve on doing the deed.

Shiver ran through Oliver's spine when he felt Aiden's gaze burn through his clothes, as for if they were caused by excitement or dread, that was not his current concern. At the very least, the thought of having sex was pushed to the far edges of his mind.

He was focused on the scene outside. It wasn't complete mayhem, but close enough. Although he spent only a day in the "normal" world, he was truly accustomed to this apocalyptic one.

The scene in front of him was a long line of cars, all stuck in traffic despite being in the usually empty country side. The sound of aggressivw car horns filled the air when Oliver opened the window. He could hear people yelling at each other from their cars and even a few crying.

If he remembered correctly, some people unknowingly brought the bitten and infected victims with them, which caused even more havoc-

A sharp shriek interrupted his thoughts.

'Ah the same screech that rescued my ass.' Oliver thought jokingly to himself. Though, he knew deep down, within the crevice of his sly mind, that he would not be safe for long.

He knew he was being apathetic, and even somewhat amused, about the entire situation. An apocalyptic world was already the norm for him.

Oliver never really had a meaningful life before the collapse of society, he was more connected with the apocalypse.

'Oh my, and look what's there.' Oliver thought as he peered through the window and spotted a group of shambling zombies, which were the cause of the multitude of screams that filled the morning air.

If he remembered correctly, those were the same zombies that Aiden and Oliver were supposed to encounter on their first meeting. However, that was messed up in this lifetime since they both met up earlier.

Since they managed to get this far, it was clear that no one else hindered their path to seeking flesh and blood.

Oliver chuckled lightly and turned around to show Aiden the zombie group that was already banging on the windows of people's cars, yet unable to break them due to being the early zombies. In later stages, they become more powerful. Not that it was a problem for the duo.

Before he could turn to Aiden, the man already quietly arrived at his side and embraced his waist, his chin sat on the nook of Oliver's neck to give them both optimal view of the beginning of the apocalypse.

"Oh, aren't those the group of zombies that you 'rescued' me from?"

Oliver crooked up his lips and ignored Aiden's hands that were wandering around his stomach. "I'm glad you remembered."

After a few more moments of "admiring" the view, Oliver shut the window.

"Well, we should start preparing now." Oliver, who within the embrace of Aiden, commented lightly.

Aiden furrowed his brows in confusion, "Prepare?"

However he managed to quickly realize what Oliver was talking about. The base from their past life.

Despite everything that happened in their last lives, neither Oliver or Aiden had hated the base. Sure, it was a pain setting up and some residents were subpar than others, however they built bonds with other people. And Oliver didn't see the sense in just letting some friendships slip away. Even if he neglected some of them whenever Aiden was around.

Additionally, it should be theoretically easier to set up the base with their knowledge of the past. They just need to blacklist certain people.

He had no problems with plucking a few weeds in the garden. A lively, yet dark glint passed through his brown eyes.

Aiden turned Oliver around to face him and gave him a warm hug. He was delighted that Oliver was okay with rebuilding the base. Although the apocalypse had dulled his empathy by quite a lot, he still wanted to find those that truly mattered to the both of them in their last lives, to repay them for what they have done for him when Oliver died.

In this life, Aiden wanted the spend time with Oliver, while being surrounded by their loved ones and friends. Life will never be boring or unfulfilling in the apocalypse!

Hope y'all are handling this social distancing thing better than me! I've been binge watching shows and now I cant stop nor will I stop!
