139 Don't whisper if everyone can hear you

They chatted for awhile before Adam turn serious and then he asked in a lowered voice, "Dude, with you getting injured this badly, your buddy is he fine?"

Chris who was nearby, turned red from hearing Adam's question. Damn! This guy! Even, I, his brother in law doesn't dare to ask and this guy here.... Speechless. Derek wanted to vomit blood when he heard the question. Jade and Father Lee who were nearby could not help but turned towards their direction. Adam realising that almost everyone heard his question felt a little silly for lowering his voice, which obviously did not achieve the objective intended.

"Hahaha. Of course it is still working, Jade even serviced it yesterday!" said Father Lee outloud and chuckled loudly.

Everyone except Jade and Derek gasped. They acted as of it was a fact. "Yes, it works perfectly fine. Thanks Father for the clarification", Jade added. Adam wished he could bury himself in the ground, he had forgotten, these people are seriously shameless and how could he not be prepared for such answer.

"Uncle Lee how did you know such details?", asked Chris curiously.

"That brat had an expression of satisfaction after they sorted their issues", he said lazily while pointing at the two who were just nodding at his explanation.

April nudged Adam for being such a busybody. Adam coughed in embarrassment, and tried to cover up by saying, "I am concern for my brother, the male nurse outside there had been on and off glancing at Jade, so I was wondering...." his words trailed off.

The male nurse who was about to enter, decided to retreat, damn, who is it that wants his life shortened, telling such blatant lie, well, not exactly lie, he did indeed stole a few glance at that pregnant lady, she is beautiful, who doesn't like looking at beautiful things? He doesn't dare to have other thoughts than admiring the beauty, the man who seems to be her husband is scary and he has heard, he had killed Heather, the most notorious mafia leader. He just wants to live peacefully. He quickly approached a colleague and made up some story about not feeling well and asked for him to help out with Derek. His colleague did not asked much and did as told.

With Adam feeling awkward, April let out a laugh she had been suppressing and in an instant the whole room of people started to laugh as well. Adam just smile sheepishly while scratching his head. They then took their leave. Chris gave Jade a big hug and a few words of encouragement and he didn't forget to give Derek a squeeze in the shoulder before he left with Adam and April. He looked at the couple side by side, smiling at them, with only love and happiness brimming in their eyes and faces, despite facing such adversities, he knew that this is the kind of relationship, this sort of love he had always wanted from his parents. Not just love on the surface, everything appears proper and fine but if one to look deep and carefully, many tiny cracks can be seen and it is easily broken.

He needs to learn more from them and he will be a good husband and hopefully a father too when the time comes. He can't wait to get back and gather Jen in his arms. That woman gives him the stability in life he needed. She appears weak but in actual fact strong especially in principles and morals. She paved her own road to success. She has completed her studies and has quietly applied a job position in the Lu corporation's food and beverages division. Even he was kept in the dark, he did not keep tab on her because he trusted her in their relationship. Other than their family, no one really knew about their relationship. She managed to get a position with her own effort, only then she bragged to him about it.

He is reminded back to the turning point of his life, thanks to Jade. A person has to prove himself worthy, of course with connections, one may be able to advance but without abilities, the title may be only in name. Respect has to be earned. He only smiled thinking of the decision he made and is happy that he is walking down the path he always wanted but with dignity and the support he had always dream off. All this was because he was given a chance to change for the better.

April stared at her brother who was smiling absentmindedly. "Brother! Are you alright?", she asked.

"I want to be like them and I am thankful that I made the right choice back then", he answered quietly.

Before April could reply, Adam chided in, "You mean like us?", he shamelessly indicated him and April. April gave Adam a pinch on his waist for his shamelessness and rolled her eyes at him a few times.

"Are you high on something? Why is your courage so big tonight?", April questioned Adam.

He whispered something in her ears that made her blushed.

"Get a room both of you, and Adam, FYI, you really sucks at whispering because I could hear you even from where I am standing. Go go... I know you two lovebirds have been apart for nearly a week", Chris said as he chased the two away to a room on the private jet.
