6 CHAPTER 5

ZIENNA'S POV:

"What? No! There could be some kind of mistake." I told him with disbelief.

"Come on, you can't just waste your time taking sides on a criminal just because he's your friend." Jayden snapped.

"So? What do you wanna do? Arrest him?" I raged.

"Obviously."

"And?"

"And what? Do the necessary we do with a criminal."

"On what basis Jayden? Just because of that stupid power of yours says so? Do you have any evidence to arrest him, or is it the freaking "mind-reading" again? Get real, will you?" I stated the obvious.

"I'll think of a way. But I won't ignore what I saw through him. I'm going to put him in his place once and for all" He stated sternly which made me rage more.

"I don't even know what has gotten into you! Do you not realize what you're doing?" I pumped.

"Anything but unnecessary."

"I'll tell you what exactly you are doing. You think you're right and you intend to prove only your point, despite of it being right or not, which is so very unprofessional. You behave like your power is the cop here, not you! If at all you think you're fair, solve the case on your own, without involving that mere thing of yours." I left the room.

I do appreciate that power of his, but this? Not happening. It rages me thinking it could totally risk an innocent's life at this point. If Marcus really is the criminal we're looking for, and if we get the proofs against him, as a cop, I'd be more than honoured to do the right and arrest him, pushing away any of my personal preferences. But on these grounds of a mere power? No. And though this might not be very nice, it's okay to push his buttons once a while if it would wake his senses up.

Probably Cole would talk this through if he's still persistent. I did the usual I do when I'm frustrated. I called Amy, my best friend and a doctor, and poured on everything to her. She would stay calm and hear me out everytime I reach out to her. Even if I'm wrong, she'd still hear me out patiently and correct me after I calmed down. The best best-friend material.

JAYDEN'S POV:

After Zienna stormed out, Cole and I stayed back in silence.

A while later, he began, "You mad?"

"No, just baffled." I replied.

"Well, you know she might have a point," he complied, "Your ability cannot be wholly relied on, you know that right? Remember your dream from the other day, that chic said you can only define zippy scenes of an incident. So, anything is possible, we'll have to figure it out."

He's right. I realize that my ability isn't to be completely depended upon. They are most likely incomplete. I will figure this out. Did she really think I couldn't do this on my own? Hell I will. I was still a cop before I recognized these powers, and I'm still a cop now with them. I wouldn't let these change me.

"Yes, I get that, but seriously Cole? Chic? Did you just call Ralpha a chic?" I chortled.

He replied with a swallowed chuckle, "You never know."

"I know stupid!"

"Oh right! You guys meet up everyday" he laughed, "You really are something, Jay. When was the last time you met up with an actual woman? But this chic? Even if we fail to meet a day, she wouldn't miss a chance! I can't! Look at your situation!" he laughed even more.

"Yeah pathetic, I know, but definitely not that much of a guy with anxiety attack whenever a girl speaks to him" I chuckled.

"Let's not get into such trivial things unless you wish to die." He 'ordered' while I chuckled.

So, we decided to investigate things before we get into conclusion. We appointed some cops on checking upon Marcus' where-and-do-abouts, as we clearly cannot deny the suspicious nature about him.

We came to know that it was true that he visited the hospital for his headache. In fact, he started visiting the hospital more often from the day the investigation began. It's either he really is ill or it's something else.

We went to his Dane. But this time it's not for the investigation; we went to have some good food; I heard the food's delicious here.

The heck I am here for food!

Zienna tagged along with us because she didn't really feel fine leaving the guy with me. Whatever.

He came to us to take orders. He greeted us formally until he spotted Zienna. "Hey Zee! What a surprise! What are you doing here?"

She returned the warm gesture with a smile, "We were nearby for some work and decided to grab on something to eat."

"Very well. Nice to meet you! What can I get you guys? Here's the menu." He handed over the menu. He was so nice for some Weird reason.

Each of us ordered for ourselves and within a short time, the orders were delivered to us. We offered him to sit with us for a while and so did he. He dragged an empty chair from the other table and took a seat near us. He and Zienna had some chit-chats, catching upon. But something felt super weird for both Cole and I.

He, then turned to us, "So, what do guys do? I assume you're Zee's friends?"

We were baffled as hell. Zienna intervened, "Um, Mark? You don't remember Jayden and Cole? They're the guys from last time- my friends!"

Wow, not awkward at all!

He suddenly got on his feet, "U-Uh pardon me. I-I'll be back. I just remembered something." He left to his counter.

He seemed to be checking and noting something on his notebook which we assumed to be some calculations. He rushed back and sat.

"Sorry about that. It was a work emergency." He stated.

"Oh, that's alright," Cole said.

"Good to see you guys again. I'm sorry I couldn't recognize you sooner. So what are you guys doing here? A case?" He said.

We brushed it off. I replied, "Yes, you know, the abduction case of the two girls." I brought up the topic on purpose.

"Whoa! Sounds serious!" he exclaimed.

Weird, once again. Cole and I gazed at each other, when Zienna began, "It's that one Mark! Mina and Bianca's case. Did you manage to remember something about the girls? Any clue?"

"Um? Why would you ask me that?" he laughed with a confused face.

"Hey! The highschool students- Mina and Bianca, Marcus! The interrogation from the other day!" Zienna furrowed.

He replied, "Now who's Mina? Who's Bianca? And what Interrogation? This is the second time we meet at my Dane, we couldn't even catch up the first time, and you're asking about some abduction case, bringing along some guys? I don't understand."

"What?"
